Greetings dear moviegoers! I had pending to do this review, since I saw the movie more than a week ago, but, among so many things I could not focus, in fact, I do not like to do reviews after so long after having seen a movie, even the movies that I have already seen a long time ago to do a review I watch them again, and is that I feel that the emotions are off and I lose many details in my memory.
So, well, know in advance that maybe my written words don't feel with the intensity I want to describe this movie, which I actually totally loved it! But it left me a little dismayed if I'm being honest and it's because of how well it was made, but how traumatic it ended up being.
I'm not going to do a synopsis because many of us here have already read many reviews of this film lately, in fact, this will be a different review than the ones I usually do, I just want to try to give my opinion about what I saw, felt and analyzed about the character of Marilyn Monroe portrayed in the film and why, some things, I think they may be true.

Tenía pendiente hacer esta reseña, ya que vi la película hace más de una semana, pero, entre tantas cosas no pude enfocarme, de hecho, no me gusta hacer reviews después de tanto tiempo de haber visto una película, incluso las películas que ya he visto hace mucho tiempo para hacer una review las vuelvo a ver, y es que siento que las emociones se apagan y pierdo muchos detalles en mi memoria.
Entonces, bueno, sepan de antemano que tal vez mis palabras escritas no se sientan con la intensidad que quiero describir esta película, que en realidad ¡me encantó totalmente! Pero me dejó un poco consternada sí les soy sincera y es por lo ¡tan bien! que estuvo hecha, pero lo bastante traumática que terminó siendo.
No voy a hacer sinopsis porque ya muchos por aquí hemos leído muchas reviews de este film últimamente, de hecho, esta será una review diferente a las que hago normalmente, solo quiero intentar opinar sobre lo que vi, sentí y analicé del personaje de Marilyn Monroe que retratan en el film y el por qué, algunas cosas, pienso que pueden ser verdad.

I remember when I was little and wanted to be like all those women who I thought had a "perfect" life, among those women was this star, the "Great" Marilyn Monroe I never saw her act, nor did I see videos of her, but I did see her pictures and how spectacular she looked in them.
What woman who saw a picture of Marilyn didn't think she was perfect? I think you can agree with me that she was and still is to this day. Even Kim Kardashian herself, who boasts the best body in the world today wants to be like Marilyn Monroe, and look at that woman has an unmatched level of self-esteem, but that's another story....
The point is that many women have wanted to be like Marilyn at some point in our lives, until we saw this movie that, although it does not completely portray her reality, we can more or less get an idea that they really did go through many things that we are told here, why do I think this? Because of the following...
I always say in my posts that the mental stability of an adult is formed in childhood, so, if we have a person with problems in their childhood emotional development, they will have to struggle a lot during adulthood to break learned erroneous patterns, because, even if they don't want to, all that bad learning is stored in their unconscious and generate an automatic response to external triggers when they are older.
Es triste asimilar que estas mujeres que admiramos tanto tiempo desde hace tanto, que se convirtieron en iconos de belleza, de actuación y que las veíamos tan "perfectas", descubrir que para poder llegar ahí debieron pasar por caminos tan escabrosos, pero es la cruda ¡muy cruda! realidad.
Recuerdo cuando era pequeña y quería ser como todas esas mujeres que creía tenían una vida "perfecta" entre esas mujeres estaba esta estrella la "Gran" Marilyn Monroe nunca la vi actuar, ni tampoco vi videos de ella, pero si veía sus fotos y lo espectacular que se veía en ellas.
¿Qué mujer que vio una foto de Marilyn no la creyó perfecta? Creo que pueden estar de acuerdo conmigo con que fue y sigue siendo así hasta la actualidad. Hasta la misma Kim Kardashian, que presume tener el mejor cuerpo del mundo en la actualidad quiere ser como Marilyn Monroe, y miren que la mujer tiene un nivel de autoestima inigualable, pero esa es otra historia…
El punto es que muchas mujeres hemos querido ser como Marilyn en algún momento de nuestra vida, hasta que vimos esta película que, si bien no retrata por completo su realidad, más o menos podemos darnos una idea de que sí realmente pasaron por muchas cosas que nos cuentan aquí ¿por qué opino esto? Por lo siguiente…
Yo siempre lo digo en mis post y es que la estabilidad mental de un adulto se forma es en la infancia, así que, si tenemos una persona con problemas en su desarrollo emocional infantil, va a tener que luchar mucho durante su adultez por romper patrones erróneos aprendidos, porque, aunque él no quiera todo ese mal aprendizaje se almacena en su inconsciente y generan una respuesta automática ante factores desencadenantes del medio externo cuando se es mayor.

Traumas that we can deduce that she did not overcome, because at the end of the day she did not have a stable foster home that gave her all the love and proper learning that she should have gotten in her childhood and unless she had really had VERY good psychiatric help, I doubt that a child who grew up this way changing foster homes and mother and father figures will be completely mentally healthy when she becomes an adult. Of course! All this is NOT impossible, but very difficult!
And even more so when you have to work in such a demanding environment as the cinema, at a time when almost everything was allowed, there was no voice to speak out and avoid the psychological and sexual abuse to which many of the actresses of the time were subjected. Many of these stories are real and it has been an open secret for a long time, it is only a few years ago that these stories were really known, so we can easily think that what is narrated in this film may have too much reality in it.
On the other hand, we have a girl who, at first glance from the images and the serious partners she had, it is evident that she was looking for an unfound father figure. Ok, this is also an assumption, but let's analyze... it's one thing for a woman to have one or two partners much older than her age, but the fact that she had so many of them is a sign of suspicion that something was not psychologically right in her "I'm not saying it, science says it".
Seeing these couples of Marilyn reminded me of Freud's theories about the psychosexual development of the child, and Marilyn definitely had an Unresolved Oedipus Complex, an alteration that is characterized because the child persists with a desire to have a relationship with the parental figure of the opposite sex, which is normal in infant stages between 3 and 6 years of age, ie to desire the love of your father if you are a girl or the love of your mother if you are a boy, develop jealousy for the partner of these figures or for siblings. This is a normal stage of every child's discovery of what libido means and then gives rise to other stages that are also normal.
But, when the stage is never overcome because he never had the paternal or maternal figure to give him the love he always wanted as a child, that is when it becomes something abnormal, or rather "pathological" (I do not like to use the word abnormality, let's take "pathological" as something unhealthy).
Esto es algo que retratan en la película y que, aun cuando puede que no haya sido tan crudo como lo muestran ahí, podemos hacernos una idea de que sí puede haber mucho de realidad en el film y es que un niño que se desarrolló solo con una figura familiar que fue la materna, la cual tenía una GRAVÍSIMA Enfermedad Mental, que la llevó, básicamente, a quedar huérfana desde muy pequeña, es lógico pensar que Marilyn ¡en definitiva! pudo haber tenido muchísimos de estos traumas que muestran en el film.
Traumas que podemos deducir que no superó, porque a fin de cuentas no tuvo un hogar estable de acogida que le dieran todo el amor y aprendizaje adecuado que debió obtener en su edad infantil y a menos que, de verdad hubiera tenido una MUY buena ayuda psiquiátrica, dudo que un niño que se crío de esta forma cambiando tanto de hogares de acogida y de figuras maternas y paternas llegue a ser del todo sano mentalmente hablando cuando llegue a ser adulto. ¡Aclaro! Todo esto NO es imposible, pero sí ¡muy difícil!
Y más cuando tienes que trabajar en un medio tan exigente como el cine, en una época donde casi todo estaba permitido, no había ninguna voz que se alzara y evitara los maltratos psicológicos y sexuales a los que eran sometidas muchísimas de las actrices de la época. Muchas de esas historias son reales y es un secreto a voces desde hace mucho, solo que hace unos pocos años es que esas historias realmente fueron conocidas, por ello podemos pensar fácilmente que lo que narran en esta película puede tener demasiado de realidad en ella.
Por otro lado, tenemos a una chica que, a simple vista por las imágenes y las parejas serias que tuvo, es evidente que estaba buscando una figura paterna no encontrada. Ok, esto también es una suposición, pero es que analicemos… una cosa es que una mujer tenga una que otra pareja de una edad mucho mayor a la suya, pero que haya tenido tantas así, ya es signo de sospecha de que algo no estaba del todo psicológicamente bien en ella "no lo digo yo, lo dice la ciencia"
Ver estas parejas de Marilyn me hizo recordar las teorías de Freud sobre el desarrollo psicosexual del niño, y es que Marilyn en definitiva tenía un Complejo de Edipo No Resuelto, alteración que se caracteriza porque el hijo persiste con un deseo de tener una relación con la figura paterna del sexo opuesto, cosa que es normal en etapas infantiles entre los 3 y 6 años de edad, es decir el desear el amor de tu padre si eres una niña o el amor de tu madre si eres un niño, desarrollar celos por la pareja de esas figuras o por los hermanos. Esto es una etapa normal de todo niño en su descubrimiento de lo que significa la libido y que luego da pie a otras etapas también normales.
Pero, cuando la etapa nunca se supera porque nunca tuvo la figura paterna p materna para que le diera ese amor que de niño siempre hubiera querido, es entonces ahí cuando se convierte en algo anormal, o mejor dicho "patológico" (no me gusta usar mucho la palabra anormalidad, tomemos "patológico" como algo enfermizo).

This factor can be seen in Marilyn's biography because she had many partners that did not end up being serious, except for 3 with whom she married, marriages that ended up being failed, for various reasons, but, we return to the same thing .... a girl with a lot of unstable relationships and 3 failed marriages is a symptom that something was not right with her, either because maybe there was a high degree of intramarital problem, like the one shown in the film, but there is also the possibility that Marilyn never felt comfortable with any partner over time.
Marilyn's desire for a child is an explanation that she was seeking resolution of her Oedipal conflict, so perhaps the pregnancy story is false, but it would make a lot of sense if it were real. In fact, knowing that her child could have her mother's characteristics because of the hereditary disease she possessed would explain why she once decided not to have the child. All this would make sense for psychoanalysis, however, it can also be a mere assumption, it is only an analysis above without delving so much into his life, but based on what is known of the real Marilyn.
And the fact is that friends, the overcoming of these stages in childhood are the ones that in the future will determine the development of the personalities of adults, whether we want it or not. We can then, perhaps, glimpse that Marilyn wanted to look attractive, that's why she exhibited herself, but in search of attracting her father's attention, even according to the film she was looking for her father's acceptance, almost all her artistic life was based on something like "I hope my father likes this wherever he is and he is watching me".
Si no superamos esta etapa, tendremos entonces a una mujer u hombre que en su adultez buscará imágenes de parejas que sean parecidos a sus padres del sexo opuesto, sobre todo muy mayores para su edad, porque son esos los que considera atractivos, querrán inconscientemente que le den todo el amor y el cuido que de pequeños no le dieron sus padres.
Cambiarán de pareja constantemente buscando llenar un vacío que está en su inconsciente, cuando estén relacionándose más íntimamente con la persona desarrollarán un mecanismo de evitación porque notarán que no es su papá o su mamá, esa imagen ideal en su mente ya no existirá y tendrán que afrontar la realidad, lo que dará pie muchísimas veces al fracaso en las relaciones amorosas.
Dicho factor podemos verlo en la biografía de Marilyn porque tuvo muchísimas parejas que no terminaron siendo serias, excepto 3 con las que se casó, matrimonios que terminaron siendo fallidos, por diversas causas, pero, volvemos a lo mismo… una chica con muchísimas relaciones inestables y 3 matrimonios fallidos es síntoma de que algo no estaba bien en ella, bien sea porque tal vez hubo algún problema intramarital de alto grado, como el que muestran en la película, pero también existe la posibilidad de que Marilyn nunca se sintió cómoda del todo con ninguna pareja con el paso del tiempo.
Y es que el deseo de Marilyn por tener un niño es una explicación de que ella buscaba la resolución de su conflicto de Edipo, así que, tal vez, la historia de los embarazos sea falsa, pero tendría mucho sentido si fuera real. De hecho, al saber que su hijo podría tener las características de su madre por la enfermedad hereditaria que esta poseía, explicaría el por qué ella en una oportunidad decide no tener el niño. Todo esto tendría sentido para el psicoanálisis, sin embargo, también puede ser una mera suposición, es solo un análisis por encima sin profundizar tanto en su vida, pero basándome en lo que se conoce de la verdadera Marilyn.
Y es que amigos la superación de estas etapas en la infancia son las que a futuro más van a determinar el desarrollo de las personalidades en los adultos queramos o no. Podemos entonces, tal vez, entrever que Marilyn quería verse atractiva, por eso se exhibía, pero en búsqueda de llamar la atención de su padre, incluso según la película ella buscaba era la aceptación de su padre, casi toda su vida artística la basó en algo así como "espero que esto le guste a mi padre donde sea que esté y me esté viendo".

That is what I tell you about the importance of overcoming stages in childhood, the psyche will always try to cope with the problems of a childhood not overcome, it will create barriers to avoid pain, it will seek to achieve goals in favor of that, all operating unconsciously, it will even make you create stories to justify why it was not given all that you needed as a child. That is why at the moment of realizing the reality and that everything was an unconscious invention, your psyche can collapse giving way to a deep crisis for not wanting to accept reality and then fall into a real Mental Illness.
Esto también explicaría por qué Marilyn podría haber soportado tanto abuso con una de sus parejas, el cual se comprobó en la vida real que ejerció sobre ella, fue verdadera violencia doméstica. ¿La razón para soportarlo? quería tener el amor y cuidado de esa figura que era su pareja, pero que, a la vez, en la cual ella proyectaba la figura de su padre.

Son muchas las razones, pero el principal es por compromiso con ella, con su familia, con la sociedad y porque lo ha vivido en su pasado, puede ser un antecedentes traumático, como abuso infantil por parte de su madre, lo cual reforzaría la teoría de que su madre sí cometió violencia infantil contra ella y ella aprendió a ver ese comportamiento como algo normal, y es que la gente que trabajaba con ella notó que Joe Dimaggio era posesivo y no respetaba la libertad de Marilyn desde el principio ¿por qué ella no lo vio?¿por todo lo que dije arriba? Puede ser...
Marilyn buscó siempre llamar la atención de ese Dios paternal según lo que muestran en la película y ¡yo estoy de acuerdo con eso! basándome en las edades de sus parejas, quería hacerse famosa también para llamar la atención de su madre, porque tampoco lo obtuvo de pequeña, pero al obtener el rechazo de ella y todo el maltrato infantil que esta le propició, entonces solo se enfocó en encontrar a su padre, era por él que lo soportaba todo por esa figura anhelada de protección y amor. Así que, cuando supo la verdad, sus estructuras de soporte emocional se cayeron por completo, alteró aún más su psique y terminó cayendo en una profunda Depresión.
Es lo que les digo de la importancia de la superación de las etapas en la infancia, la psique siempre va a tratar de afrontar los problemas de una niñez no superada, creará barreras para evitar el dolor, buscará alcanzar objetivos en pro de eso, todo operando de forma inconsciente, incluso te hará crear historias para justificar por qué no se le dio todo eso que necesitabas de pequeño. Por eso en el momento de darse cuenta de la realidad y de que todo fue un invento inconsciente, su psique puede colapsar dando paso a una profunda crisis por no querer aceptar la realidad y entonces caer en una verdadera Enfermedad Mental.

So I think Marilyn either could have developed 2 personalities as a dissociative disorder, or she simply used many psychological defense mechanisms to cope with her introversion and became so extroverted over time to become the most extreme opposite of who she really was because her work warranted it. The problem is that that requires too much! self-control of the psyche and almost no one can stand it for that long.
That would lead us to something else: how could a person who never studied acting perform those roles where he shows so much suffering in such a real way? Yes, I know! Some people are born with talents, but many others are not, in fact, many people around Marilyn highlight her ability to portray certain performances that required great emotional commitment and highlight that she did it in a way that you could see in her totally the character and how she completely abandoned the image of Marilyn, the reason?
Exactly! In my analysis she was able to reach into her unconscious and make conscious painful episodes of her past that she tried to hide through that glorious, flamboyant and extroverted personality, as shown throughout the film. For all this I tell you friends, sadly yes! I think that this movie based on a book by the writer Joyce Carol, had much of what actually! was the life of Marilyn Monroe, but look how it ended and you will find the explanation of everything, the events that happened at the end of her days on the film sets, that is not invented there are witnesses of what happened.
Hay otro factor del que me gustaría hablar y que son muy resaltados en la película y es la necesidad de Marilyn de separar sus dos imágenes, no sabemos si es del todo real lo que ocurrió en la verdadera Marilyn, pero podemos intuir que, tal vez, sí lo haya sido. Hay varios indicios, por ejemplo: Marilyn firmaba como Marilyn Monroe en algunos lugares y firmaba como Norma Jean en otros.
Sé lo que estás pensando ¡ok es algo común en muchos artistas! obviamente firmar documentos personales con su nombre real y los trabajos artísticos como libros o fotografías, etc, con su nombre artístico, pero Marilyn hacía algo diferente, ella en algunos trabajos artísticos firmada con su nombre real Norma Jean ¿No les parece raro este detalle? Es como si ella en ciertos trabajos se viera retratada a sí misma, pero en otros trabajos no y eso ¡en definitiva! puede indicar un conflicto en su personalidad.
Conflicto que se puede presentar de esa forma, es decir, verse a sí misma en el espejo como otra persona, pero en su soledad verse como es realmente ella, o tal vez en algunos momentos de su día a día en algunas imágenes de su trabajo verse como es realmente ella y en otros no, es una alteración bastante fuerte de su autopercepción.
Por otro lado, la mayoría de las personas que la conocieron cuando surgió su carrera la describen como una persona tímida e inocente, pero entonces nos preguntamos ¿cómo una persona tímida e inocente puede llegar a participar en este tipo de fotografías y películas tan sugestivas y hasta llegar a aparecer completamente desnuda desde el inicio de su carrera en una época donde eso era tan mal visto? Porque no solo fue al inicio, es que al transcurrir de su carrera muchos continuaron viéndola así "inocente y tímida", mientras para otros era una completa "bomba sexual" ¿cómo pudo ocurrir esto? ¡Exacto! Tal cual como lo estás pensando, teniendo una personalidad introvertida y otra extrovertida.
Por eso pienso que Marilyn, o bien pudo haber desarrollado 2 personalidades como un trastorno disociativo, o sencillamente usaba muchos mecanismos de defensa psicológicos para afrontar su introversión y se volvió de esa forma tan extrovertida con el tiempo para volverse lo más extremamente contraria a lo que en realidad era porque su trabajo lo ameritaba. El problema es que eso requiere de ¡demasiado! autocontrol de la psique y casi nadie puede soportarlo tanto tiempo.
Eso nos llevaría a algo más ¿cómo podría una persona que nunca estudió actuación realizar esos papeles donde demostrara tanto sufrimiento de una forma tan real? ¡Sí, lo sé! Algunos nacen con talentos, pero otros muchos no, de hecho, muchas personas alrededor de Marilyn destacan su capacidad para representar ciertas actuaciones que requirieron de gran compromiso emocional y resaltan que ella lo hacía de una forma que podías ver en ella totalmente al personaje y cómo abandonaba completamente la imagen de Marilyn ¿la razón?
¡Exacto! en mi análisis ella era capaz de llegar a su inconsciente y hacer conscientes episodios dolorosos de su pasado que intentaba ocultar a través de esa personalidad toda gloriosa, llamativa y extrovertida, tal cual como lo demuestran a través de la película. Por todo esto que les digo amigos, tristemente ¡sí! pienso que esta película basada en un libro de la escritora Joyce Carol, tuvo mucho de lo que ¡en realidad! fue la vida de Marilyn Monroe, sino miren cómo terminó y encontrarán la explicación de todo, los eventos que sucedían al final de sus días en los sets de filmación, eso no es inventado hay testigos de lo ocurrido.
Photography work: The film itself is a total work of art in images! really yes, the artwork in each scene is wonderful, I told someone that if you put me many of these images without any audio I could totally feel everything the director wanted to express, and when an image itself! is able to convey so much is incredible to admire! but when, in addition, almost the entire film gives you that experience, is that for me a work of art!
All the cinematography by the director Andrew Dominik was completely spectacular, so spectacular! that it penetrates you to the bone and leaves you petrified of terror, fear, pain, but above all it hurts.
El trabajo de fotografía: La película en sí es una ¡total una obra de arte en imágenes! de verdad que sí, el trabajo artístico en cada escena es maravilloso, le comenté a alguien que si me ponías muchas de esas imágenes sin ningún audio yo podía totalmente sentir todo lo que quería expresar el director, y cuando una imagen ¡en sí! es capaz de transmitir tanto es ¡increíble de admirar! pero cuando, además, casi toda la película te ofrece esa experiencia, es eso para mí ¡una obra de arte!
Toda la cinematografía a cargo del director Andrew Dominik estuvo completamente espectacular ¡tan espectacular! que te cala hasta los huesos y los deja petrificados del terror, el miedo, el dolor, pero sobre todo lastima.
The rawness: There are many people shocked with many scenes, it's true, there are moments when you feel it's too much and, maybe, they should have done without some specific scenes, but then you understand that the impact it generated, that discomfort and displeasure was completely necessary!
Sometimes you don't even need to show that much to convey something, it's also true, but when we want a message to be captured in the collective unconscious, we need it to be VERY visually impactful, so, I justify the director and the need to put every scene.
La crudeza: Hay mucha gente escandalizada con muchas escenas, es cierto, hay momentos que sientes que es demasiado y, tal vez, debían prescindir de algunas escenas en específico, pero luego entiendes que ese impacto que te generó, esa incomodidad y desagrado ¡era completamente necesario!
A veces incluso no se necesita mostrar tanto para transmitir algo, también es cierto, pero cuando queremos que un mensaje quede plasmado en el inconsciente colectivo, necesitamos que sea MUY impactante visualmente, así que, yo justifico al director y la necesidad de poner cada escena.

There were other episodes in which he distorted the images he saw, and others in which he completely altered his reality with hallucinations and even delusions, images captured in a spectacular way! Although what they showed gave absolute rage, frustration, fear, but above all, a lot of pain!
Every time I see these alterations of the content of thought represented in a film I am amazed! because I already had a hard time understanding them when I first studied them many years ago, and when I first tried to analyze the mind of a person with a psychiatric pathology in psychotic episodes I found it difficult and the mere fact of seeing how these people show it to you in such a simple way leaves me amazed!
Imágenes en primera persona: si hay cosas que admiré ¡es esta! todas esas escenas donde básicamente nos daban la visión de Marilyn del entorno, sobre todo al final cuando muestran la falta de continuidad entre las escenas las cuales nos hacen ver como los recuerdos de Marilyn se fueron perdiendo uno a uno, así como tampoco había continuidad en sus acciones y como la estructura de su personalidad fue completamente en declive hasta no saber siquiera quién era, ni cómo iba de un lado al otro ¡fue increíble de observar!
Parecía como si en cierto punto de su vida anduviera solo por inercia o como si alguien se adueñara de ella, pero que luego tuviera, por momentos, episodios de despertares donde no sabía dónde estaba, qué estaba haciendo, ni mucho menos cómo llegó ahí, eran comportamientos completamente erráticos con mucha labilidad emocional, pasaba de la felicidad al llanto en segundos.
Había otros episodios donde distorsionaba las imágenes que veía, y otros donde alteraba completamente su realidad con alucinaciones y hasta delirios, son imágenes capturadas de forma ¡espectacular! Aunque lo que demostraban daba absoluto enojo, frustración, miedo, pero sobre todo ¡mucho dolor!
Cada vez que veo representado estas alteraciones del contenido del pensamiento en el cine me quedo ¡maravillada! porque bastante que me costó entenderlas cuando la estudié hace muchos años la primera vez, y cuando intentaba al principio analizar la mente de una persona con una patología psiquiátrica en episodios psicóticos se me dificultaba y el solo hecho de ver como esta gente te lo muestran de esta forma ¡tan sencilla! a mí me dejan ¡anonadada!
Marilyn's performance: I didn't put her in the character section as I always do because basically everything I have described is from Ana de Armas, she is the only! center of the whole movie, there are no recurring or constant characters, they are all minor roles of short duration.
The performance of Ana de Armas was nothing but sublime! The ability of that woman to present that innocent look in that totally sexualized body was masterful! I must say that I didn't know the actress very well, but it is clear that this performance demanded too much from her and she must have exceeded some limits of what she was allowed to do herself, because there are scenes that we won't see often in the movies, if not almost never! and for a renowned actor to take the risk of carrying them out requires too much commitment to the film, the character she plays and the director.
You can really feel the acting effort from beginning to end and all the emotional commitment she gave to the role, the look of that woman tears your soul in almost the entire film, you can feel everything. For me in particular it transmitted a lot of fear, truly Ana de Armas deserves all the awards she is nominated for, without a doubt!
La representación de Marilyn: no la puse en el apartado de personajes como siempre hago porque básicamente todo lo que he descrito es de Ana de Armas, ella es el ¡único! centro de toda la película, no hay personajes recurrentes o constantes, todos son papeles secundarios de poca duración.
La actuación de Ana de Armas fue nada más que ¡sublime! la capacidad que tuvo esa mujer de presentar esa mirada inocente en ese cuerpo totalmente sexualizado fue ¡magistral! Debo decir que no conocía mucho a la actriz, pero a leguas se ve que esta actuación exigió demasiado de ella y debió haber rebasado algunos límites de lo que ella se tenía permitido hacer a sí misma, porque hay escenas que no veremos frecuentemente en el cine, por no decir ¡casi nunca! y para que un actor de renombre tome el riesgo de llevarlas a cabo requiere de demasiado compromiso con la película, el personaje que interpreta y el director.
De verdad se nota el esfuerzo actoral de principio a fin y toda la entrega emocional que le dio al papel, la mirada de esa mujer te desgarra el alma en casi toda la película, puedes sentir todo. A mí en lo particular me transmitió sobre todo mucho miedo, de verdad que Ana de Armas se merece todos los premios a los que la nominen ¡sin lugar a dudas!

Every sentence said is a beauty, even if what he said hurt a lot because how those words hit you is what makes it special. There is nothing said in this movie that doesn't have meaning, and the parts narrated by Marilyn are an absolute poem! And I kid you not, a painful poem, but a poem nonetheless.
El guión: sabemos que la película está basada en un libro y, tal vez, por eso estuvo tan bien, pero en definitiva el guionista de esta película hizo un ¡excelente trabajo! Cada frase dicha es una belleza, así lo que haya dicho doliera mucho porque como te llegan esas palabras es lo que lo hace especial. No hay nada dicho en esta película que no tenga significado, y las partes narradas por Marilyn son un ¡absoluto poema! Y no les miento, un poema doloroso, pero poema al fin.
The soundtrack: My God! this was the icing on the cake to generate more empathy with the character, in the scary scenes I swear I was terrified! And it was because of those images in those dark tones magnified with that heartbreaking soundtrack, what a thing to cause you consternation, for a moment I had to stop the movie, it was 2 am and I went to the kitchen to get water to continue watching it and I was completely terrified of my own surroundings! because the actress really makes you get into her head and feel total despair and terror of Marilyn.
La banda sonora: ¡Dios mío! esto fue la cereza del pastel para generar más empatía con el personaje, en las escenas de miedo ¡se los juro que yo estaba aterrada! y era por esas imágenes en esas tonalidades oscuras magnificadas con esa banda sonora desgarradora, que cosa para causarte consternación, por un momento debí parar la película, eran las 2 am y fui a la cocina a buscar agua para poder seguir viéndola y estaba ¡completamente aterrada de mi propio alrededor! porque de verdad la actriz te hace meterte en su cabeza y sentir total desesperación y el terror de Marilyn.

The wake-up call for the film industry: I feel since I saw the film that this film is a criticism to the industry to continue making the relevant changes, so that gender pay equality is established, so that actors regardless of gender are treated properly, that actors' rights are respected, etc, etc, for me the whole film is a complete criticism directed to the seventh art and I loved it for that!

- Al final de la película solo tenía una pregunta en mi cabeza para hacer esta review ¿Marilyn Monroe fue una mujer que le dio vida a un personaje, o un personaje que le dio vida a una mujer? A juzgar por lo que atravesó en su carrera y en su vida personal desde la infancia me voy más por lo segundo, pero puede que no haya sido así, nunca lo sabremos del todo…
- ¿Hasta qué punto una psique puede soportar llevar una carga tan pesada como ser alguien que no eres en realidad? ¿Puedes convivir completamente con tu alter ego de forma paralela? Para mí, pueden pasar 2 cosas: o te alejas de ese personaje que es completamente diferente a ti con el tiempo o dejas que él te consuma por completo y te conviertes enteramente en él, pero convivir permanentemente con dos extremos tan opuestos en una misma persona y que demanda tanto de ti en tu día a día, por lo que he visto en mi carrera, casi siempre termina mal, tristemente.
- El llamado de atención para la industria del cine: siento desde que vi la película que este film es una crítica a la industria para que sigan haciéndose los cambios pertinentes, para que se establezca la igualdad salarial de los géneros, para que los actores sin distinción de género sean tratados como es debido, que se respeten los derechos de los actores, etc, etc, para mi toda la película es una completa crítica dirigida al séptimo arte y ¡me encantó por eso!
- Evitar idealizaciones: para finalizar el más importante mensaje que rescato de la película es la necesidad de dejar de idealizar personas que no conocemos del todo, esas que vemos brillar en alfombras rojas, que aparentan tener un autoestima súper elevado, que no tienen problemas, que parecieran tener todo lo que quieren y necesitan. Esta película te va a dejar pensando en esa imagen que tienes de Marilyn, esa que tanto querías tener para ti misma y al final, tal vez, replantearte ese "ídolo" que tenías en tu mente.

I wouldn't know how to describe it otherwise, but I think I prefer people to continue to have the image that appears in her photographs or the other films that already exist of Marilyn, just for the sound of the woman and for what she represents for popular culture, I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.
