It has finally happened as many have anticipated it would. New Lord of The Rings films have been announced by Warner Brothers.
After the dogshit that was Amazons Rings of Power there will be another attempt to bring LOTR to the new generation.
If I were a betting man I would put my money on black. "Black" being the color of the agonizing pit of despair us fans will fall into after watching the new movies.
Not a lot has been revealed so far but its to expect that WB will milk the franchise for all its got. I dont think the films will be rebooted as they still hold up really well and fans would most likely riot.
What I am expecting is something similar to what happened to Star Wars. Most of the writers connected to these big studios are useless and talentless hacks that are surely hired on criteria that has nothing to do with their writing skill so they will rehash old stuff over and over again.
You know how you had the "Star Wars:Rogue One" film?
A film on how rebels got the plans for the first Death Star. Guess what? They get them, who cares.
From that film they made a prequel of that prequel with one of the characters that dies in the end, Andorian Sampdorian Kardashian, or whatever.
I half expect them now to make a prequel of the prequels prequel based around a character that dies in the Andorians TV show and how that guy lived before meeting Andorian.
I loath this type of prequel crap. Its lazy, its uninspired, its boring.
That is the direction I expect Lord of The rings to go.
ARAGORN ORIGIN STORY:
You know Aragorn? Well in this movie you will learn what he did before he showed up in Prancing Pony to meet the hobbits. We follow him throughout his teen days till young adulthood growing up in Rivendell with Elrond. He has a hard time fitting in as he explores his sexuality with young elvish boys.
They will get a younger actor to portray Aragorn just like it was done with the Han Solo origin story and Harrison Ford. They can do the same for Gandalf, for Gollum. I bet they do Gollum first as Andy Serkis can easily be digitally altered.
LOTR SEQUEL TRILOGY:
The worst case scenario is if they do what they did with the horrific Star Wars sequel trilogy when they brought back Palpatine.
Lord of the Rings sequel... "THE RETURN OF SAURON!"
In this film Sauron returns. He was never actually dead. He was hiding and making star destroyers... i mean Orcs and Nazgul. The old Sauron was a clone all along. PLOT TWIST! He didnt only make
- Nine rings for mortal men doomed to die
He made 10 000 rings!!! This time around he has 10 thousand Nazgul he was hiding in the far reaches of Middle Earth! Oh no! Who will save Middle Earth now!
Enter main character...
Its a purple haired, patriarchy hating, gender fluid, fat, lesbian Hobbit!
I cant wait...
