A mi me encanta el stop motion, creo que es una técnica de animación increíble, que ha servido para dar vida a diversas historias y personajes que marcaron, al menos, mi infancia.
Aunque estas películas no sean nada sencillas de realizar, y lleven consigo un gran trabajo, hay algunas que no solo tienen valor por su característica animación... Sino que todo dentro de ellas esta tan bien hecho, que te harán sentir sumergido en un viaje fuera de la realidad.
El estudio Laika tiene estas películas de Stop Motion que deberías ver, sin embargo, no podría hablar de todas, y resumiré este post a 3 de ellas.
Ahora, sin más que decir, comencemos.
I love stop motion, I think it is an incredible animation technique, which has served to give life to various stories and characters that marked, at least, my childhood.
Although these films are not at all easy to make, and involve a lot of work, there are some that not only have value because of their characteristic animation... But everything inside them is so well done, that they will make you feel immersed in a journey out of reality.
Laika studio has these Stop Motion movies that you should see, however, I couldn't talk about all of them, and I will summarize this post to 3 of them.
Now, without more to say, let's get started.
Paranorman
Paranorman, estrenada en 2012, si bien no es la mejor película de este estudio, si que entra en el top 3, al menos para mi. Esta película, tuve el gran placer de disfrutarla en la sala de cine en 3D, y puedo decir que es de las mejores experiencias que he tenido, audiovisualmente hablando.
Cuenta la historia de un chico que tiene el poder de ver cosas, que nadie más puede. A partir de ahí, se desarrolla una trama llena de humor, terror, y reflexiones de vida.
Paranorman, released in 2012, although it is not the best film of this studio, if it enters the top 3, at least for me. This movie, I had the great pleasure of enjoying it in the theater in 3D, and I can say that it is one of the best experiences I've had, audiovisually speaking.
It tells the story of a boy who has the power to see things that no one else can. From there, a plot unfolds full of humor, terror, and life reflections.
Kubo and the Two Strings
En esta película, estrenada en 2016, el estudio se destaco por hacer un trabajo excepcional. El nivel al que llevaron el stop motion, simplemente esta por encima de lo bien hecho. Es una película realmente hermosa visualmente, y que a veces te hace pensar "¿de verdad todo eso es real?" y lo es.
Dentro de la trama se encuentran muchas referencias a la cultura occidental... Y en algunas escenas logramos vislumbrar el aire oscuro y tenebroso, característico de las tres pelis mencionadas acá.
In this film, released in 2016, the studio stood out for doing an exceptional job. The level to which they took the stop motion, is simply above and beyond well done. It's a really beautiful film visually, and one that at times makes you think "is all that really real?" and it is.
Within the plot there are many references to western culture.... And in some scenes we get a glimpse of the dark and gloomy air, characteristic of the three films mentioned here.
Coraline
Hay dos películas que me hicieron enamorarme del Stop Motion, y que de niña veía siempre que podía: The Nightmare Before Christmas y Coraline.
Y vaya, no es casualidad que ambas me gustaran tanto, porque las dos fueron dirigidas por el mismo hombre; Henry Selick.
Sé que es una película vastamente conocida, pero no podía dejar de estar aquí, al ser una de las mejores, la que hizo debutar al estudio, y sinceramente, una de mis favoritas.
Fue estrenada en 2009, y esta basada en una novela del mismo nombre. Aunque hubiesen quienes conseguían esta película en, cierto punto, algo aterradora, lo cierto es que es inofensiva.
