IS HELLBOUND?
I finished watching 6 episodes of it. Is Hellbound going to beat Squid game?
I don't think so, and read on to find out why. There were articles that clickbaited readers with headlines like "HELLBOUND becomes #1 on Netflix" but then when I read about it, it stated that it was still number 3 in some other countries.
I won't be revealing a lot in case your planning to watch it in case you wanted to watch something on netflix. I will just give you the juicy bits with no endings to get you excited.

I completed the 6 episodes in two days. It leaves a lot of questions unanswered. What questions? First of all...
THE PLOT
Dark creatures from Hell that looks more like steroid injected monsters, come to Earth. Their job is to hunt sinners (There is a twist here), sinners have no way of escaping (The dark creatures are super muscular and inhuman). Three dark creatures always show up and punch the sinner then use their claws stab through the body. Then finally, the sinner is on the ground, all three use their hands and suck the soul out of the sinner and a dark ash of the upper part of the sinner is left. It is done in broad daylight.
THE FIRST ATTACK
NEW TRUTH
A cult like organization.
Their chairman is Jeong Jin-soo. Twenty years ago, he started to preach about a death angel who would let sinner know in advance their time of death. His doctrine is show the people what happens to sinners and make the world a place a better place.
Worshipped by everyone around the city, NEW TRUTH becomes a powerful organization that hunts for sinners and broadcast their deaths live for everyone to watch. So evidence enforces their doctrine. But the chairman has a dark secret. He actually created New Truth to make humans suffer.
The first three episodes are different from episodes four to six. Chairman Jin-Soo passed on the role to Kim Jeong-Chil.
He becomes a very powerful man. Sitting on the top floor of NEW TRUTH.
He goes around the city to find out who has gotten their decree.
ARROWHEAD
An extreme group who follows the New Truth's doctrine that goes out and hunt and kill those who have received the decree from the death angel. They would usually cremate those they have captured.
There is another group that I won't reveal which starts in episode 4, and they are out there to help sinners.
REVIEW
In this series, New Truth only broadcast sins of sinners, so why do people actually believe them? Why do hell creatures look so muscular and why do they even need to punch the sinners?
Scare factor: Low - We know when these creatures would appear because the death angels would tell them in advance. After I watched 6 episodes, there wasn't any character whom I would actually feel sad if anything happened to that person. The last episode ended with no proper ending,so I guess it is going to be explained in Season 2.
Overall, I enjoyed watching Hellbound. Just have a pack of snacks with you because you will sit there watching non stop for a while. I think Hellbound is not suitable for younger audience, there is too many violent scenes that may enforce some sort of negativity. There is a scene where the Arrowheads overpower the police force and manages to beat up everyone. There is not enough storytelling in between episode 3 and episode 4. It just transitions directly into New World become a really powerful organization. There are a lot of details that I do not want to reveal since it is still new and was just released a while ago.
