Telenovelas are a very popular genre throughout the history of television. Here real-life situations are recreated, perhaps with a little more drama and imagination, to satisfy the taste of the regular user of this type of television production.
They began to be popular on the television stations of Latin American countries. Then, they spread to the audience of other less frequent countries, and many times, in the least imagined countries, these productions were seen (Arab countries, English-speaking countries).
However, it is in countries such as Venezuela, Brazil, and especially Colombia, where this popular genre is most developed. Colombia, par excellence, is a country that takes great care in the production of telenovelas. It is not only the dramatic ingredient as such, but it also includes current issues regarding social problems, tourist promotion of its areas and landscapes, as well as its culture.
It is in this way that many Colombian novels are born, which became successful in the past and are now being recreated in second productions refreshed with a different cast and some changes concerning the original script.
This genre is liked by many and decried by many others, perhaps because some exaggerate in terms of drama, bordering on unreality. However, there are many, as I said above (the Colombian ones, for example), that give it a touch of realism, which manages to catch the viewer, even in second productions or re-releases of the same novel.
I remember when I was younger, I loved to watch novels, mostly for recreation and to get out of the routine. Perhaps dreaming, as we are in our youth, of situations and moments presented to us by these characters through a television production.
Las telenovelas son un género muy popular a través de la historia de la televisión. Aquí se recrean situaciones de la vida real, tal vez con un poco más de drama e imaginación, para satisfacer el gusto del usuario asiduo a este tipo de producciones televisivas.
Comenzaron siendo populares, en las televisoras de los países latinoamericanos. Extendiéndose luego a la audiencia de otros países menos frecuentes y muchas veces, en los que menos se imaginan, llegaron a verse estas producciones (países árabes, de habla inglesa).
Sin embargo, es en países como Venezuela, Brasil y sobre todo Colombia, dónde se desarrolla más este género tan popular. Colombia, por excelencia, es un país que se esmera en la producción de telenovelas. Ya no solo es el ingrediente dramático como tal, sino que incluye temática de tipo actual en cuanto a problemáticas sociales, promoción turística de sus zonas y paisajes, así también como de su cultura.
Es de esta forma, como surgen muchas novelas colombianas, que llegaron a ser exitosas en el pasado y que, en la actualidad, vuelven a ser recreadas en segundas producciones refrescadas con diferente elenco actoral y algunos cambios con respecto al guion original.
Este género le gusta a muchos y es detractado por otros tantos, quizás porque hay algunas que exageran en cuanto a lo dramático, rayando en la irrealidad. Sin embargo, hay muchas, como ya dije más arriba (las colombianas, por ejemplo), que le dan un toque de realismo estupendo, el cual, logra atrapar al espectador, inclusive en segundas producciones o relanzamientos de la misma novela.
Recuerdo que cuando era más joven, me encantaba ver novelas, más que todo para recrearme y salir de la rutina. Quizás soñando, como tal y cual somos en la juventud, con situaciones y momentos que nos presentaban estos personajes a través de una producción televisiva.
Such is the case of the telenovela Café con aroma de Mujer, very popular and well known at the time of its launching (1994). This production had a unique tuning and I remember that I was dying to see each chapter, at that time through television.
Its original version starred Margarita Rosa De Francisco and Guy Ecker. It was a hit and I confess that I never missed an episode. It managed to hook me at that time of my life, like no other soap opera.
However, time went by and I stopped watching novels to dedicate myself to other things. However, this time, I managed to find, through the Netflix platform, a series based on this famous production, and that is nothing more than the remake of this famous novel that in the past managed to capture my attention and that of many, many more people.
At first, I was reluctant to watch it, because it required a considerable investment of time since it is not just anything to say that you are going to watch 88 chapters of a novel-like series, but in the end I ended up deciding that I would watch it, perhaps motivated by the fact that as I am now in Hive, I wanted to dare to review this type of production.
I watched all 88 chapters because, although in the past I managed to watch the entire original novel in its entirety, I wanted to be sure of any changes or different things in terms of production, to accurately review my opinion regarding the series promoted by Netflix.
I must begin by saying that, although it has some detractors, in my opinion, it was very well carried and made, because if it had some changes, it managed to preserve the essence of the original and even improve it, because I could appreciate many things that I liked in a new way.
Tal es el caso de la telenovela Café con aroma de mujer, muy popular y conocida en su época de lanzamiento (año 1994). Esta producción acaparó una sintonía única y recuerdo que moría por ver cada capítulo, en ese tiempo a través de la televisión.
Su versión original fue protagonizada por Margarita Rosa De Francisco y Guy Ecker. En realidad fue un éxito y confieso que no me perdía ningún capítulo. Logró engancharme en ese tiempo de mi vida, como ninguna otra novela.
Ahora bien, pasó el tiempo y dejé de ver novelas para dedicarme a otras cosas. Sin embargo, en este tiempo, logré encontrar, a través de la plataforma Netflix, una serie basada en esta famosa producción y que no es más que el remake de esta famosa novela que en el pasado logró capturar mi atención y la de muchísimas personas más.
Al principio, estaba renuente a verla, pues, ameritaba una inversión de tiempo bastante considerable, ya que, no es cualquier cosa decir que vas a ver 88 capítulos de una serie tipo novela, pero al final terminé decidiendo que si la vería, quizás motivada por el plus de que como ahora estoy en Hive, quería atreverme a reseñar este tipo de producción.
Vi los 88 capítulos pues, aunque en el pasado logré ver completa toda la novela original, quería estar segura de los cambios o cosas diferentes en cuanto a la producción, para reseñar con exactitud mi opinión respecto a la serie promocionada por Netflix.
Debo comenzar por decir que, aunque tiene algunos detractores, a mi juicio fue muy bien llevada y realizada, ya que si tuvo algunos cambios, logró conservar la esencia de la original y hasta mejorarla, pues pude apreciar muchas cosas que me gustaron de forma novedosa.
This production recreates the coffee culture par excellence that Colombia has as a producing country. It reflects very well the coffee production process, highlighting its goodness and the pride as a country that its coffee is perhaps one of the best in the world. It shows the entire scope of coffee as such, from the production in the plants and the harvesting process, in which the main love story is developed and other alternate ones, as well as the world in general of this aspect that is so important for Colombia as a country in its economic aspect.
Also through this sample of the coffee world, lived through a high-class family with experience and tradition in this field, it is used to promote the tourist aspect, as well as some other social problems inherent to the world of coffee.
The main love story of the main characters (Gaviota and Sebastián) is developed here, as well as other secondary ones, where characters of the Vallejo family (villains and good guys), show us their dramas and the family relationship that sometimes becomes stormy and leaves us many life lessons.
On the other hand, the counterpart (characters from the countryside, among them the protagonist, her mother, and working friends), present us with a world of union and extreme affection, as well as solidarity, which makes the polar opposite of this story to the upper-class family.
What I liked a lot about this story, is the message that leaves the life of each of the characters, from the protagonists to the supporting actors. A struggle between values, and personal ambition that threatens to destroy the family. The union between siblings after being individualistic, all in the face of a difficult situation and the learning and growth that each one had as a person at the end of the novel.
In the case of Gaviota and her mother Carmenza, I liked the very special fraternal union, the unwavering affection that both professed for each other, the mutual support and their very special feelings, as well as the gratitude to life for everything that surrounds them from the simplicity of their lives. Laura Londoño, the protagonist, had a very big challenge having to put herself on par with the previous protagonist, but I feel she did it very well and gave her special touch of joy and naturalness to her character. I liked her work.
Esta producción recrea la cultura cafetalera por excelencia que posee Colombia como país productor. Refleja muy bien el proceso de producción del café, resaltando sus bondades y el orgullo como país, de que su café sea quizás uno de los mejores del mundo. Muestra todo el ámbito del café como tal, desde la producción en las plantas y el proceso de recolección, en el cual se desarrolla la historia de amor principal y otras alternas, así como el mundo en general de este aspecto tan importante para Colombia como país en su parte económica.
También a través de esta muestra del mundo cafetalero, vivido a través de una familia de alta clase con experiencia y tradición en este ámbito, se aprovecha de promocionar el aspecto turístico, así como algunas otras problemáticas sociales inherentes a ese mundo del café.
Aquí se desarrolla una historia de amor principal de los protagonistas (Gaviota y Sebastián), así como otras secundarias, donde personajes de la familia Vallejo (villanos y buenos), nos muestran sus dramas personales y la relación de familia que a veces se vuelve tormentosa y nos deja muchas lecciones de vida.
Por otro lado, la contraparte (personajes del campo, entre ellos la protagonista, su madre y amigos trabajadores), nos presentan un mundo de unión y cariño extremo, así como la solidaridad, que hace el polo opuesto en esta historia a la familia de clase alta.
Me gustó muchísimo de esta historia, el mensaje que deja la vida de cada uno de los personajes, desde los protagonistas hasta los actores secundarios. Una lucha entre los valores, la ambición personal que llega a amenazar con la destrucción familiar. La unión entre hermanos luego de ser individualistas, todo ante una situación de dificultad y el aprendizaje y crecimiento que tuvo cada uno como persona al final de la novela.
En el caso de Gaviota y su madre Carmenza, me gustó mucho la unión fraterna tan especial, ese cariño a toda prueba que ambas se profesaban, el apoyo mutuo y sus sentimientos tan especiales, así como el agradecimiento a la vida por todo lo que las rodea desde la sencillez de su vida. Laura Londoño, la protagonista, tuvo un reto muy grande al tener que ponerse a la par de la protagonista anterior, pero siento que lo hizo muy bien y le dio su toque especial de alegría y naturalidad a su personaje. Me gustó mucho su trabajo.
I was watching videos of the original 1994 production and they managed to find actors and actresses similar to the originals but adding their personal touch, which I thought was great.
The music was also another aspect that I loved. In the original, the main character sang some songs and in this one, Laura Londoño (Gaviota), also performs almost all the songs of the novel. Tango-type music (fabulous) and some rancheras, set in a romantic style that gave a nice touch to the production.
It is a story full of values and learning, set in a beautiful outdoor environment. The acting performances were very good, in my opinion, and not that I am an expert, but I feel that it hooked me to such an extent, that I managed to watch all 88 chapters of 45 minutes each one, in two weeks. I finished one chapter and I couldn't stop watching the next one.
It is a story full of color, promotion, teachings, learning, values, and growth of each character (I will not make spoilers, never expect it from me), which left me a very good taste and great satisfaction of having managed to see it in its entirety although it was quite the time invested, I do not regret it and I recommend it from many points of view.
For me, it was a departure from the traditional time of the novels of yesteryear and despite being production based on one that had already premiered and was a success, I think it was a great challenge to show it and in my opinion, they were very successful, because it was a very well done and meshed work. It showed some changes concerning the original plot, but in my opinion, they were positive and achieved their task of hooking the audience, among them, me.
This new Netflix release format seems great to me, despite its length, which is understandable because they are remaking a novel, which managed to be on the air for a very long time. It is a good option for this type of production, but in my opinion, improved and of better scope for the user, since it can be seen at the time and moment that one decides.
I fully recommend it. It managed to enrapture me with its beauty from every point of view. If you did not see the original, the one from 1994, because you were too young back then, I invite you to watch it now with this beautiful production from Netflix. Estuve viendo videos de la producción original de 1994 y en realidad lograron buscar actores y actrices parecidos a los originales, pero añadiéndoles su toque personal, lo cual me pareció estupendo.
La música también fue otro aspecto que me encantó. En la original, la protagonista cantó algunas canciones y en esta, Laura Londoño (Gaviota), también interpreta casi todas las canciones de la novela. Música tipo tango (fabulosa) y algunas rancheras, ambientadas al estilo romántico que le dio su toque bonito más aún a la producción.
Es una novela llena de valores y aprendizaje, enmarcada en un ambiente de exteriores hermoso. Las interpretaciones actorales fueron muy buenas, a mi juicio y no es que yo sea experta, pero siento que me enganchó a tal punto, que logre ver los 88 capítulos de 45 minutos, en un lapso de dos semanas. Terminaba un capítulo y no podía dejar de ver el siguiente.
Es una historia llena de colorido, promoción, enseñanzas, aprendizajes y valores, crecimiento de cada personaje (no voy a hacer spoiler, jamás lo esperen de mí), que me dejó un muy buen sabor y una gran satisfacción de haber logrado verla en su totalidad aunque fue bastante el tiempo invertido, no me arrepiento y la recomiendo desde muchos puntos de vista.
Para mí fue salir de aquel tiempo tradicional de las novelas de antes y a pesar de ser una producción basada en una que ya habían estrenado y fue un éxito, pienso que fue un gran reto mostrarla y para mi opinión, tuvieron mucho acierto, pues fue un trabajo muy bien realizado y engranado. Mostró algunos cambios respecto a la trama original, pero en mi opinión, fueron positivos y lograron su cometido de enganchar a la audiencia, entre ellas, a mí.
Este nuevo formato de lanzamiento de Netflix, me parece estupendo muy a pesar de lo largo, lo cual es comprensible pues, están haciendo remake de una novela, las cuales, lograban estar al aire por un período muy largo de tiempo. Es una buena opción de este tipo de producciones, pero a mi juicio mejorada y de mejor alcance para el usuario, ya que puede verse a la hora y en el momento que uno decida.
La recomiendo a plenitud. Logró enviciarme por lo bonito desde todo punto de vista. Si no vistes la original, la de 1994, porque eras muy joven en ese entonces, te invito a verla en este tiempo con esta hermosa producción desde Netflix.
