I see movies a lot, I love and enjoy seeing movies especially Nigerian movies. I don't get tired one bit cos I admire everything about it. That doesn't mean I don't see phillipines or American movies, I do but chances are scarce.
The movie titled Believer is all shades of amazing trust me. I saw it yesterday and I decided to download it so I just finished watching it. It is awesome, the casting, the actions, name it. It thought me a lot and I've decided to share here.
About the movie
Believer is a movie produced by the popular Nollywood producer Uchenna Mbunabu. He produces nice story lines and I've been following him for quite sometime now. I even went as far as subscribing to his YouTube Channel.
The movie was released recently on the 15th of April, 2021 precisely over here in Nigeria with the language English Language and also with the production company named One and two films production running for 1 Hour and 45 minutes.
It is directed by Chidi chijioke. The main characters in the movie are;
- Jackie Appiah as Lulu Bonte
- Sharon Francis as Nonye
- Aisha Mohammed as Shila
- Prince Nwafor as Eric
- Uche Odoputa as Sam
The whole story revolves around Jackie Appiah. She isn't from a wealthy family and she lost her dad to the cold hands of death and since then she has been striving to survive.
So, her friends, course mates in school who lived in the city invited her to come over and see what life holds for her and she did.
Arriving there, she saw her friends living in luxurious houses, wearing nice clothes and plenty money so she asked them how they go about that and she was told that the only way is to sleep with men for money in order to achieve that.
She swore never to join them, rather as a graduate that she was who graduated with second Class Upper in Hotel and home management and catering as well. She went out to look for a Job and luckily for her she saw and met Eric who told her about a security personnel vacancy in an hotel.
She obliged and sought for the Job, luckily she got it. She used that to fend for herself for the mean time. She was diligent and honest and as God had it, she was promoted to the manager of the hotel.
Nonye her friend got jealous and later found out that she was working in an hotel owned by Sam her sex mate. She accused Jackie of sleeping with him to get to that position and did everything possible to destroy her.
She didn't succeed but rather she ended in shame. Jackie got married to Eric while Shila changed from her ways and decided to make money the right way. She later for married too.
Nonye took Jackie's advice and went to fashion school. She started making money when she finished from school, owned her place where she sewed for people and lived a comfortable life.
What I learnt
You know Jackie believed so much in herself and she worked hard not minding how small the position was and God lifted her. She worked legitimately for her money rather than selling her body and allowing men dictate her life for her.
I really enjoyed the movie and i learnt a lot as a Lady. There's dignity in labour and whatever you believe in, set your mind to, that surely you will be.
