Hello, everyone. I hope you're all doing well. I've been passing the time by watching web series, particularly those related to different types of crime documentaries. In my previous post, I talked about a Netflix web series called "The House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths." Since then, I've watched several new web series over the past two days. Among them, the most surprising to me is the web series "Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi," which is about a serial killer and can be found on Netflix.
It has a total of 3 episodes. And the time of each is from 45 to 47 minutes. It was released in 2022. And its rating is very good. And it is based on the true story of Chandrakant Jha, a serial killer. Even here you can see the real Chandrakant Jha, the police officers involved in his case, lawyers, CID officers, journalists, family members of those who were murdered, relatives of the killer and those who escaped from the killer. You can listen to their stories.
Now let's get to the point. Here I will give some spoilers of the web series. The incident started from Tihar Jail in 2006. Where a headless body is found wrapped in a basket and a letter is found with it which contains inaudible abuse of the police and the challenge given to the police is "catch me if you can". The police started investigating it. A few days later another body was found at the same place in the same condition. Again a letter in which it is written why he wanted to be killed etc. After this, in 2007, another body was found in the same place, again with a letter. That same challenge. After that, the police after various investigations found out that the killer's name is Chandrakant Jha. Chandrakant Jha was arrested after various investigations and searches.
Chandrakant Jha the serial killer
But Chandrakant Jha was a very intelligent person and he told the cops all the details of the reason behind the murder. Even after the murder, where the head of the body was thrown, how the body was transported, what he did before the murder, all the details. He was so confident that he fought his own case. He had no remorse for committing these murders.
I've only provided a brief summary, so I encourage you to watch the web series for the full details of this intriguing case.
Dead body
But this story of Chandrakant Jha going from a common man to a serial killer shocked me. He claims that he is killing to avenge the injustices he has faced in his own life. He grew up in a poor family in Bihar, India and had a very difficult childhood. He was abused by his father and mother and suffered poverty and discrimination. He came to Delhi from Bihar for work. Here he started doing various jobs. One day, while arguing with his master about money, his master's hand was cut by his knife. His owner reported his name to the police. The police registered a fake murder case in the name of Chandrakant Jha and arrested Chandrakant Jha and his wife. Chandrakant Jha had to serve 3 years in jail in this case. While in jail, the police started torturing him in various ways. And because of this he got out of jail and started killing.
List of murderers
I've watched this series twice and plan to watch it again. What I appreciate most is how it sheds light on the flaws within the police system and the injustices with ordinary people , particularly those without powerful connections. The police themselves acknowledge their negligence and the torture Chandrakant Jha . It's also a relief to know that the police were ultimately able to capture a serial killer, potentially saving many lives. These are my personal thoughts on the series.

I recommend watching "Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi," but please be mindful that it may not be suitable for children due to some scenes that not everyone will find appealing. I'm interested in hearing your opinions after you've watched it.
