Hola amigos cinéfilos espero que se encuentren muy bien, el día de hoy quiero compartir mi opinión acerca de la película Gone Baby Gone de drama, crimen y misterio la cual siempre estuvo en mi lista de películas por ver pero por alguna razón no lo había hecho, así que ayer la termine de ver y me gustó bastante además de que siempre me han gustado las películas donde aparece Casey Affleck que para algunos no será el mejor actor del mundo pero tiene bastante potencial sobre todo en películas que tocan temas delicados como en ésta. Gone Baby Gone es una película dirigida por Ben Affleck y estrenada en 2007, es un thriller dramático que aborda temas como la maternidad, la adicción y la ética personal. Ambientada en Boston, la historia se centra en la desaparición de una niña de cuatro años llamada Amanda, hija de una madre soltera y adicta a las drogas llamada Helene McCready. Esta historia comienza cuando Amanda desaparece luego de que su madre en un descuido por andar en bares a altas horas de la noche dejo a la pequeña sola en su casa y luego cuando se dió cuenta la niña ya había desaparecido, Helene empieza a llamar la atención de los medios y de la policía que de inmediato van hasta el último lugar donde se encontraba Amanda, las personas tratan de consolar a Helene y la policía promete hacer todo lo posible por encontrar a Amanda sana y salva.
La película presenta a Casey Affleck en el papel de Patrick Kenzie, un detective privado que se asocia con su compañera Angie Gennaro, interpretada por Michelle Monaghan, para investigar la desaparición de Amanda. This story begins when Amanda disappears after her mother in an oversight for hanging out in bars late at night left the little girl alone at home and then when she realized the girl was already missing, Helene begins to draw the attention of the media and the police who immediately go to the last place where Amanda was, people try to comfort Helene and the police promise to do everything possible to find Amanda safe and sound.
The film features Casey Affleck as Patrick Kenzie, a private detective who teams up with his partner Angie Gennaro, played by Michelle Monaghan, to investigate Amanda's disappearance. Because Helene's brother shows a lot of concern about his niece's disappearance he decides to pay these detectives to look for more information about Amanda's disappearance with the goal of finding her before an even bigger tragedy occurs. Patrick se sumerge en la investigación de una manera tan fuerte que no puede dejar de pensar en la desaparición de Amanda por lo que se mantiene todo el tiempo buscando información en el barrio donde vive Helene el cual es uno de los barrios más peligrosos y dónde hay una alta cantidad de personas drogadictas y que llevan una mala vida. Aún así el no tiene miedo de enfrentarse a lo que sea con tal de encontrar a la pequeña Amanda pero la policía no se lo pondrá tan fácil ya que ellos dicen que ellos son los que deben investigar y que nadie más se debe meter en sus asuntos pero Patrick es persistente y junto con Angie empieza toda la búsqueda.
Hay dos cosas que me gustaron mucho de esta película, la primera es que Casey Affleck hace un excelente papel como investigador y también se mete tan bien en el personaje que te sientes nervioso y a la vez con mucha adrenalina por todo lo que está pasando, siento que los papeles de drama le quedan muy bien a Casey además de que tiene otras películas donde destaca como actor como la de Manchester By The Sea que me dejó tan impactada y que se convirtió en una de mis películas favoritas de drama. La segunda cosa que me gustó fue la trama, podemos ver cómo es todo el proceso de tratar de encontrar a una persona desaparecida en este caso una menor de edad bajo la tutela de una madre que es adicta y que tiene muy poca preocupación por darle un buen ejemplo a su hija. El retrato que la película hace de la vida en los barrios marginales es realista y crudo, sin caer en la exageración o la caricatura. La falta de oportunidades, la pobreza y la violencia están presentes de manera constante, sin embargo, también hay destellos de bondad y esperanza que se abren paso en medio de la adversidad.
Patrick is immersed in the investigation in such a strong way that he can not stop thinking about Amanda's disappearance so he keeps all the time looking for information in the neighborhood where Helene lives which is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods and where there is a high number of drug addicts and people who lead a bad life. Even so he is not afraid to face whatever it takes to find little Amanda but the police will not make it so easy because they say that they are the ones who should investigate and that no one else should get into their business but Patrick is persistent and together with Angie begins the whole search.
There are two things that I really liked about this movie, the first is that Casey Affleck plays an excellent role as an investigator and he also gets so well into the character that you feel nervous and at the same time with a lot of adrenaline for everything that is happening, I feel that drama roles fit Casey very well plus he has other movies where he stands out as an actor like Manchester By The Sea that left me so shocked and became one of my favorite drama movies. The second thing I liked was the plot, we can see how is the whole process of trying to find a missing person in this case a minor under the guardianship of a mother who is an addict and has very little concern for giving a good example to her daughter. The film's portrayal of life in the slums is realistic and raw, without falling into exaggeration or caricature. Lack of opportunity, poverty and violence are constantly present, yet there are also glimmers of goodness and hope that break through the adversity.
Cabe destacar que desde el comienzo, Ben Affleck logra capturar la atmósfera asfixiante y desesperanzadora de los barrios marginales de Boston, es impactante ver cómo las personas consumen estupefacientes en medio de la calle sin importar si hay niños a su alrededor, es como algo muy normal para ellos; además de que se ve la soledad y el descuido por parte del gobierno en esas zonas y el hecho de tratar a las personas adictas como si fueran una basura que no tiene arreglo. Además también destaca la fotografía sombría y la música que oscila entre lo melancólico y lo inquietante, complementan a la perfección la sensación de tensión y peligro que rodea la historia. El guion, basado en la novela homónima de Dennis Lehane, se desarrolla de manera magistral, profundizando en los personajes y explorando los dilemas morales a los que se enfrentan. A medida que Patrick y Angie llevan a cabo su investigación, descubren una serie de secretos oscuros y encuentran personajes ambiguos y moralmente cuestionables.

La interpretación de Casey Affleck como Patrick Kenzie es cautivadora. Uno de los aspectos más interesantes de Gone Baby Gone es la exploración de temas morales y éticos. A medida que Patrick y Angie desentrañan la verdad detrás de la desaparición de Amanda, se enfrentan a decisiones difíciles y dilemas éticos que ponen a prueba sus principios. La película plantea preguntas incómodas sobre la justicia, la redención y la responsabilidad personal. One of the most interesting aspects of Gone Baby Gone is the exploration of moral and ethical issues. As Patrick and Angie unravel the truth behind Amanda's disappearance, they are faced with difficult decisions and ethical dilemmas that test their principles. The film raises uncomfortable questions about justice, redemption and personal responsibility. We can see that there is a lot of irresponsibility on the part of Amanda's mother and her addiction to then worry about her daughter when it is too late but I suppose a person who goes into the world of drugs is because they have a lot of deep unresolved issues and are looking for some sort of escape from their reality, yet Amanda had to pay for her mother's broken dishes. I was also surprised how everything turned out and the way Casey had to make a decision regarding Amanda's case that for him was very difficult and that for many would be the opposite of what he decided.
Para mí Gone Baby Gone es una película fascinante y emocionalmente poderosa que te lleva a sentir un cumulo de emociones desde la desesperación hasta la rabia y la tristeza, con una trama llena de intriga y dilemas morales. El guion inteligente, actuaciones sobresalientes y una dirección impecable, la película ofrece una experiencia cinematográfica inolvidable. No solo nos entretiene, sino que también nos invita a reflexionar sobre temas como la maternidad, la adicción y la cualidad humana de enfrentar situaciones difíciles. Sin duda es una pelicula que aunque parece por momentos ir lenta llega un punto en el que se pone bastante interesante y te mantiene intrigado hasta el final, realmente me gustan este tipo de historias y los giros de las tramas. La recomiendo, es una película que pueden ver personas de +15 ya que no contiene escenas demasiado fuertes y también al ser bastante vieja es fácil de encontrarla por plataformas de internet y en PrimeVideo.
