Hace poco termine de ver la tercera temporada de la serie Succession y puedo decir que mientras más episodios veo de esta serie quedo más intrigada y llena de emociones juntas, para los que no saben esta serie de HBO MAX es muy elogiada y se han llevado varios premios en diferentes nominaciones donde algunos de los protagonistas de esta serie han sido galardonados. Está historia cada vez se pone mejor y en esta tercera temporada podremos ver un poco más acerca de los problemas de cada uno de los miembros de la familia Roy y sus disputas con respecto a la herencia de su padre Logan Roy y la gran empresa Waystar RoyCo. Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are well today. I recently finished watching the third season of the series Succession and I can say that the more episodes I see of this series the more intrigued and full of emotions together, for those who do not know this HBO MAX series is highly praised and have taken several awards in different nominations where some of the protagonists of this series have been awarded. This story is getting better and better and in this third season we will see a little more about the problems of each of the members of the Roy family and their disputes regarding the inheritance of his father Logan Roy and the great company Waystar RoyCo. Desde el comienzo de esta historia dónde los principales protagonistas son la familia Roy liderada por Logan Roy dueño de la compañía Waystar RoyCo y sus hijos Connor, Kendall, Shiv y Roman como parte importante de la empresa. Está familia se caracteriza por ser bastante disfuncional debido a la crianza que tuvieron con el viejo Logan un hombre que tiene un muy mal carácter y que debido a sus problemas que ha venido arrastrando desde la infancia, se convirtió en un padre que maltrata a sus hijos tanto física como emocionalmente y que les ha dejado una huella de dolor en sus vidas, sin embargo cada uno de sus hijos a crecido y tienen sus propias responsabilidades más aún siendo personas de un alto nivel social y que están en el ojo del huracán por parte de la prensa.
From the beginning of this story where the main protagonists are the Roy family led by Logan Roy owner of the company Waystar RoyCo and his children Connor, Kendall, Shiv and Roman as an important part of the company. This family is characterized by being quite dysfunctional due to the upbringing they had with the old Logan a man who has a very bad character and due to his problems that has been dragging since childhood, became a father who mistreats his children both physically and emotionally and has left a mark of pain in their lives, however each of his children have grown up and have their own responsibilities even more being people of a high social status and are in the eye of the storm by the press.
La tercera temporada sigue enfocada en los problemas que tienen los Roy como familia y los intereses personales que tienen cada uno de los miembros de la familia, donde vemos cómo el querer tener poder y dinero te puede llevar a vivir una vida bastante vacía y problemática como la de uno de los hijos de Logan llamado Kendall quien desde la primera temporada nos muestra su historia que no es más que la vida de un hombre que tiene muchos vacíos emocionales y que siempre desea hacer todo lo que su padre le ordene con tal de tener esa aprobación y ese pequeño momento de cariño que nunca recibió por parte de su padre. Vemos cómo lucha contra sus demonios internos y su lucha con las adicciones donde pasan muchas escenas fuertes y gráficas dónde lo vemos bastante drogado y también teniendo ideas suicidas.
The third season continues to focus on the problems that the Roy's have as a family and the personal interests that each of the family members have, where we see how wanting to have power and money can lead you to live a pretty empty and troubled life as one of Logan's sons named Kendall who from the first season shows us his story which is nothing more than the life of a man who has many emotional voids and always wants to do everything his father orders him to do in order to have that approval and that little moment of affection that he never received from his father. We see how he fights against his inner demons and his struggle with addictions where there are many strong and graphic scenes where we see him quite drugged and also having suicidal ideas.
El viejo Logan Roy sigue al frente de la empresa dónde cada día surge un nuevo problema que le hace preguntarse si realmente la empresa sobrevivirá cuando el ya no esté. A pesar de que tiene muchos momentos dónde su salud se ve cada vez más deteriorada podemos ver que a pesar de ser un hombre bastante mayor aún se comporta como un joven, teniendo aventuras con algunas mujeres y dejando de lado a su esposa como si sus acciones no significaran nada. Ademas de sus problemas de salud, el está observando cada movimiento de sus hijos y de su personal de la empresa, el sabe que todos desean quedarse con su puesto pero se da cuenta de que no hay nadie hasta los momentos que tenga las capacidades para cumplir con ese pesado rol de ser el dueño mayoritario.
The old Logan Roy is still in charge of the company where every day a new problem arises that makes him wonder if the company will really survive when he is no longer there. Even though he has many moments where his health is deteriorating we can see that despite being an older man he still behaves like a young man, having affairs with some women and leaving his wife aside as if his actions mean nothing. In addition to his health problems, he is watching every move of his children and his staff in the company, he knows that everyone wants to keep his position but he realizes that there is no one so far who has the capabilities to fulfill the heavy role of being the majority owner.
Tenemos más acercamiento hacia la relación de Shiv con Tom luego de que se casaron, ahora que son una pareja más formal Tom desea que Shiv le de su lugar frente a su padre y que pueda conseguir un puesto de mayor rango ya que no quiere ser simplemente la sombra de su esposa. Además se ve involucrado en asuntos de la empresa dónde él junto a Greg comienzan a ser como aliados y tratan de hacerse notar porque ambos están interesados en ser parte de los altos cargos de la empresa Waystar RoyCo. Podemos ver que el personaje de Greg como siempre se muestra distraído la mayor parte del tiempo pero que no es ninguna joyita y que siempre está buscando su propio bienestar y beneficios actuando de manera ilícita dentro de la propia empresa.
We get closer to Shiv's relationship with Tom after they got married, now that they are a more formal couple Tom wants Shiv to give him his place in front of his father and get a higher position because he doesn't want to be just a shadow of his wife. He also gets involved in company matters where he and Greg start to become like allies and try to get noticed because they are both interested in being part of the higher ranks of Waystar RoyCo. We can see that Greg's character as always is distracted most of the time but he is not a jewel and is always looking for his own welfare and benefits acting illicitly within the company itself.
Por su parte Roman sigue siendo el aliado de Shiv aunque no se lleven tan bien, el desea que las cosas salgan bien y que él pueda demostrar de que está hecho. Roman se mete en varios problemas entre ellos sobre cuestiones sentimentales y que tienen que ver con Gerri quien es la mano derecha de Logan Roy y la cual conoce muy bien toda la dinámica de la empresa pero que pasa algunos momentos incomodos debido a Roman y su forma tan desenfrenada de ser. Sin embargo, Logan siempre piensa que podría dejar su cargo a Roman o a Gerri pero siente que aún faltan muchas cosas por arreglar dentro de la empresa antes de tomar la decisión definitiva de salir por la puerta grande y dejar a cargo a otra persona.
Roman continues to be Shiv's ally even though they don't get along so well, he wants things to go well and he wants to show what he is made of. Roman gets into several problems between them about sentimental issues and that have to do with Gerri who is the right hand of Logan Roy and who knows very well all the dynamics of the company but that spends some uncomfortable moments because of Roman and his way so unbridled to be. However, Logan always thinks that he could leave his position to Roman or Gerri but feels that there are still many things to fix within the company before making the final decision to leave through the big door and leave in charge of someone else.
De las tres temporadas que he visto esta última es una de mis favoritas porque estuvo muy entretenida y pude ver cómo todas esta familia llena de problemas se enfrentaban entre si para tener los derechos dentro de él patrimonio familiar. También me gustó ver que los personajes se mostraron más reales y más auténticos sobre todo el personaje de Kendall, Roman y Shiv quienes tienen unas escenas donde podemos ver que a pesar de sus diferencias y rivalidades aún siente un poco de aprecio por ser hermanos. Se tocan temas de salud mental en el caso de Kendall quien sigue batallando con las adicciones y a la vez el querer estar con sus hijos a quienes ama pero no sabe cómo ser mejor persona para ellos. Shiv también tuvo un gran crecimiento como personaje y podemos ver que ya al final de la temporada se empieza a dar cuenta de que su idea de un matrimonio es algo que tal vez fue un error y que su esposo Tom es mucho más astuto de lo que llegó a pensar.
Of the three seasons I have seen this last one is one of my favorites because it was very entertaining and I could see how all this family full of problems faced each other to have the rights within the family estate. I also liked to see that the characters were shown more real and more authentic especially Kendall's character, Roman and Shiv who have some scenes where we can see that despite their differences and rivalries they still feel some appreciation for being siblings. Mental health issues are touched upon in the case of Kendall who continues to struggle with addictions and at the same time wanting to be with his children whom he loves but doesn't know how to be a better person for them. Shiv also had great growth as a character and we can see that by the end of the season she begins to realize that her idea of a marriage is something that may have been a mistake and that her husband Tom is much more astute than she thought.
La tercera temporada muestra claramente lo que es el deseo de querer estar en el poder sin importar pasar por encima de todos incluyendo tu propia familia, es un tema bastante común y que se ve en la vida real dónde las familias se pelean por un bien material o por el deseo de conseguir el respeto mediante acciones, sobre todo en las familias dónde el dinero es lo que prevalece más que el vínculo. Los actores como siempre hicieron un trabajo increíble y me hicieron sentir dentro de la historia con cada uno de los dramas que se iban viviendo mientras avanzaban los episodios. El dinero puede servir para obtener bienes materiales o una mejor calidad de vida, pero cuando es algo que se convierte en un deseo desenfrenado para sentir que eres mejor que los demás o que puedes utilizarlo para actuar de mala manera es casi como una maldición y esto es lo que se ve dentro de Succession y hasta en las personas famosas que vemos por internet.
The third season clearly shows what is the desire of wanting to be in power regardless of going over everyone's head including your own family, it is a very common theme that is seen in real life where families fight for a material good or for the desire to get respect through actions, especially in families where money is what prevails more than the bond. The actors as always did an incredible job and made me feel inside the story with each of the dramas as the episodes progressed. Money can serve to obtain material goods or a better quality of life, but when it is something that becomes an unbridled desire to feel that you are better than others or that you can use it to act in a bad way is almost like a curse and this is what you see inside Succession and even in the famous people we see on the internet.
Sin duda esta es una serie que vale mucho la pena ver, es una historia que se va desarrollando poco a poco dónde podemos ver que aunque hay familias que parezcan perfectas la realidad dentro de sus hogares es diferente, a pesar de tener suficiente dinero para darse los lujos que deseen tienen muchas carencias sobre todo afectivas por parte de sus padres y esto les afecta tanto en sus relaciones como en su dia a dia. Logan es un hombre que siempre quiere tener la razón y el poder en todas las situaciones de su vida así tuviera que pasar por encima de las personas más importantes para él como lo son sus hijos y esto no trajo más que conflictos y desgracias, la lección que me ha dejado está serie es que ninguna cantidad de dinero o lazo sanguíneo puede hacer que ames a alguien si lo que te interesa son tus propios beneficios.
Undoubtedly this is a series that is well worth watching, it is a story that develops gradually where we can see that although there are families that seem perfect reality within their homes is different, despite having enough money to afford the luxuries they want have many shortcomings especially affective by their parents and this affects them both in their relationships and in their day to day. Logan is a man who always wants to be right and have the power in all situations of his life even if he had to go over the most important people for him as his children and this did not bring more than conflicts and misfortunes, the lesson that this series has left me is that no amount of money or blood ties can make you love someone if what interests you are your own benefits.
