Red (en inglés, Turning Red) es una película estadounidense de comedia, de aventuras y que trata a la pubertad de una manera metafórica, animada por computadora, dirigida por Domee Shi, producida por Pixar Animation Studios, Beijing Sparkle Roll Media Corporation, Tencent Pictures, Pearl Studio, One Cool Films, Alibaba Pictures y Bona Film Group y lanzada por Walt Disney Pictures.

Red habla sobre la pubertad en este caso de la pequeña Mei Lee que acaba de cumplir 13 años. Metafóricamente la pubertad y las emociones que vienen arraigadas a este tema la hacen a ella convertirse en un gran Panda Rojo. Ella lo descubre cuando le viene la menstruación por primera vez y se siente muy avergonzada.
Todo el tema del panda rojo viene desde hace muchas épocas atrás inclusive su madre sin darle muchos detalles le cuenta como ella también tuvo su propio panda rojo. Así que su madre junto a su padre tratan en lo posible de hacer que Mei no se convierta en panda debido a emociones fuertes. Por lo que le muestran una serie de imágenes o cosas que podrían desencadenar que el panda saliera de nuevo.
Mei tiene un grupo de amigas muy cool y ella se siente feliz cuando está con ellas y no siente la presión de su familia, o de su madre en específico porque sea una chica perfecta, con buenos modales, que respete a sus ancestros y que tenga buenas calificaciones en la escuela. Cuando este grupo de amigas descubre que ella se convierte en panda se emocionan mucho y hay una amiga en específico que es coreana y su reacción es demasiado tierna cuando la ve convertida en panda.
Hay muchos líos como de que está por llegar su banda favorita y no tiene el dinero para ir a verlos pero por impulso y obligación para que un compañero de clases no le dijera a su mamá que se estaba convirtiendo en panda en el colegio, hace un trato con el de ir a su casa como un panda y ser el centro de atención.
Esto se le va saliendo de las manos porque cada vez los estudiantes le exigen ver más al panda, se vuelve popular jajaja, hasta hacen productos para vender con la imagen de ella como panda.
Es una película que toca temas sensibles, como de familia, del perdón, de la aceptación y de como todos llevamos un panda dentro de nosotros que sale cuando estamos muy estresados o demasiado emocionados.
Tienen que verla, y prestar mucha atención a la historia de la madre de Mei con la abuela para entender porque ella es como es.
