Desde el año 2020, tanto DC Cómics cómo WB Animations dieron inicio a la reinvención de su universo cinematográfico animado con la película "Superman: Man of Tomorrow" enfocada en el origen del héroe más importante en los cómics; justamente por el título de ese film, esta nueva serie de films reciben el nombre de "Tomorrowverse" el cual para este año cuenta con un el estreno de 5 films (contando con el ya nombrado); justamente en esta publicación haré reseña del nuevo film de este universo en dónde tiene como protagonista a un personaje que por lo visto tendrá un importante desarrollo en lo que será la nueva etapa en el DCU.
Since 2020, both DC Comics and WB Animations began the reinvention of their animated cinematic universe with the film "Superman: Man of Tomorrow" focused on the origin of the most important hero in the comics; precisely because of the title of that film, this new series of films are called "Tomorrowverse" which for this year has a premiere of 5 films (including the one already mentioned); precisely in this publication I will review the new film of this universe where the main character is a character that apparently will have an important development in what will be the new stage in the DCU.
Esta nueva serie de películas animadas basadas en personajes de DC Comics no se han caracterizado por ser muy buenas; en mi opinión tienen un tono suave, ya que en mi opinión están más enfocadas para todo público y es que las anteriores películas claramente tenían un tono más adulto, porque demostraban escenas violentas y gráficas; personalmente de las cuatro películas anteriores, puedo decir que plenamente disfrute de las protagonizadas tanto por Superman como por Batman, las otras dos dónde vemos a otros como Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman y Green Lantern, no cumplieron con mis expectativas en lo que es en parte el desarrollo de los personajes; es por eso que con el estreno de este nuevo film quería ver algo divertido, que sea una evolución en varios aspectos son por supuesto salirse de las características que tiene estás producciones; ahora refiriéndome a "Legion of Super-Heroes"; debo decir que se presenta una oportunidad no solo de explorar la historia de la prima de Superman, sino la historia de un grupo de héroes que justamente gracias a la lucha que brindaron todos los héroes de La Liga de la Justicia, los influyeron para que ellos mismo no solo sean los guardianes de sus planetas sino del universo y justamente ese es el tema principal en esta historia donde Kara Zor-El deberá de una vez por todas aprender la responsabilidad de ser un héroe y junto a sus nuevos amigos de la legión deberán enfrentar a un poderoso enemigo que pone en peligro a toda realidad.
This new series of animated films based on DC Comics characters have not been characterized for being very good; in my opinion they have a soft tone, since in my opinion they are more focused for all audiences and the previous films clearly had a more adult tone, because they showed violent and graphic scenes; personally of the four previous films, I can say that I fully enjoyed the ones starring both Superman and Batman, the other two where we see others like Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Lantern, did not meet my expectations in what is in part the development of the characters; that's why with the release of this new film I wanted to see something fun, which is an evolution in several aspects are of course out of the characteristics that have these productions; now referring to "Legion of Super-Heroes "; I must say that it presents an opportunity not only to explore the history of Superman's cousin, but the history of a group of heroes that precisely thanks to the fight that all the heroes of the Justice League gave, influenced them to be not only the guardians of their planets but of the universe and that is precisely the main theme in this story where Kara Zor-El must once and for all learn the responsibility of being a hero and together with his new friends of the legion must face a powerful enemy that endangers all reality.
"Supergirl" es un personaje que en muy pocas oportunidades ha sido parte de varias producciones, sé que en los ochenta tuvo un film de acción real, después una breve aparición en la serie de "Smallville" y posteriormente tuvo más protagonismo en el film animado "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse" (el cual es un muy buen); desde ahí se tuvo que esperar a una breve y extraña aparición en el "Snyderverse" gracias a un comic que sirvió como prólogo a "Man of Steel", pero no hubo nada más hasta este año donde no solo veremos a ese personaje en este film, sino en el proximo film "The Flash"; ahora en esta historia Supergirl está escrita por nada más y nada menos que Josie Campbell quien escribió la magnífica serie animada para Netflix, "She-Ra and the Princess of Power"; ella se encarga de darle una personalidad muy juvenil a una chica que de un momento a otro pierda absolutamente todo y en dónde mucho tiempo después se reúna con su único familiar el cuales el héroe más importante de un mundo que para nada era al de ella; estos factores son importantes para el crecimiento del personaje y de todo lo que debe enfrentar y en mi opinión está muy bien hecho.
"Supergirl" is a character that in very few opportunities has been part of several productions, I know that in the eighties she had a live-action film, then a brief appearance in the series of "Smallville" and later had more prominence in the animated film "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse" (which is a very good one); from there she had to wait for a brief and strange appearance in the "Snyderverse" thanks to a comic book that served as a prologue to "Man of Steel", but there was nothing more until this year where we will not only see that character in this film, but in the upcoming film "The Flash"; now in this story Supergirl is written by none other than Josie Campbell who wrote the magnificent animated series for Netflix, "She-Ra and the Princess of Power"; She is in charge of giving a very youthful personality to a girl who from one moment to another loses absolutely everything and where a long time later is reunited with her only family member who is the most important hero of a world that was not hers at all; these factors are important for the growth of the character and everything she has to face and in my opinion it is very well done.
Desde el primer momento que vi el diseño de los personajes, la animación me pareció un gran acierto; pero en esta oportunidad se nota una pequeña evolución y en mi opinión creo que es mejor; el diseño hace resaltar mucho a los personajes en dónde lo primordial es Kara Zor-El la cual se me pareció mucho a la actriz Emma Stone aunque la voz en inglés la hace Meg Donnelly quien protagonista de la serie "Winchester" que sirve de precuela de "Supernatural". He leído críticas negativas con respecto a que la animación de este film no es la mejor, no es llamativa o impresionante y sí, no ofrece nada revolucionario ni tampoco impactante, pero en defensa de estas producciones hay que recordar de que estos films pertenece al formato video on demand y por eso DC Studios no está obligado a realizar un gran gasto en la producción de estas historias porque como todos sabemos hasta dos o tres films son estrenados en el año; la exigencia debe ser más que nada enfocada en la historia y de como se desarrolla a los personajes, el cómo se relata una buena historia y en eso se demuestra una mejora como en la realización de las escenas de acción que son correctas, por lo menos son mejores del film anterior.
From the first moment I saw the design of the characters, the animation seemed to me a great success; but this time there is a small evolution and in my opinion I think it is better; the design makes the characters stand out a lot, where the main character is Kara Zor-El, who looked like the actress Emma Stone although the voice in English is done by Meg Donnelly who stars in the series "Winchester" which serves as a prequel to "Supernatural". I have read negative reviews regarding that the animation of this film is not the best, it is not flashy or impressive and yes, it does not offer anything revolutionary or shocking, but in defense of these productions we must remember that these films belong to the video on demand format and therefore DC Studios is not obliged to make a large expenditure in the production of these stories because as we all know up to two or three films are released in a year; the demand should be more than anything else focused on the story and how the characters are developed, how a good story is told and in that it shows an improvement as in the realization of the action scenes that are correct, at least they are better than the previous film.
"Legion of Super-Heroes" es un entretenido film, es correcto en la introducción de Supergirl y de estos héroes del futuro en esta nueva historia y posiblemente deban tener un mayor peso en el próximo film y es que lo notorio de esta rápida y corta historia es que funciona como la verdadera introducción a lo que deberán enfrentar la Liga de la Justicia en las próximas películas; esto puede desorientar o desagradar a los fans de los personajes que protagonizan este quinto nuevo film del Tomorrowverse, pero en mi opinión se hizo un buen trabajo tomando muchas cosas que ya se han hecho, pero simplificando todo para que encaje en la manera de relatar estás historias las cuales tienen como característica realizar varios cambios para tal vez no aburrir o sorprender a quienes ya saben qué sucede en esas historias. Por los momentos habrá que esperar hasta julio de este año donde se vea el próximo film de este universo, el cual es llamado como "Justice League: Warworld" en dónde seguramente Superman y Batman serán los protagonistas y en dónde espero que sea mucho mejor porque ya es hora de que este universo eleve el nivel en muchos otros aspectos.
"Legion of Super-Heroes" is an entertaining film, it is correct in the introduction of Supergirl and these heroes of the future in this new story and possibly they should have a greater weight in the next film and the notorious thing about this quick and short story is that it works as the real introduction to what the Justice League will face in the next films; this may disorient or displease fans of the characters that star in this fifth new film of the Tomorrowverse, but in my opinion a good job was done taking many things that have already been done, but simplifying everything to fit the way of telling these stories which have the characteristic of making several changes to perhaps not bore or surprise those who already know what happens in these stories. For now we will have to wait until July of this year to see the next film of this universe, which is called "Justice League: Warworld" where surely Superman and Batman will be the protagonists and where I hope it will be much better because it is time for this universe to raise the level in many other aspects.
