Fue estrenado el séptimo episodio de The Last of Us el cual es llamado "Left Behind" y que no solo funciona como una continuación directa del episodio anterior que finalizó con un buen cliffhanger, si no es un perfecto completo o precuela de lo que vimos en la segunda mitad del primer episodio. En esta oportunidad esperaba ver qué tanto aprendió Ellie de Joel después de convivir juntos por tres meses y en dónde en esta oportunidad un evento sumamente peligroso amenaza con separarlos y es por eso que para entender la reacción o acción que debe ejercer Ellie, es mejor conocer parte de su inmediato pasado y ver qué ella también ha perdido como muchos otros.
It was released the seventh episode of The Last of Us which is called "Left Behind " and that not only works as a direct continuation of the previous episode that ended with a good cliffhanger, if not a perfect complete or prequel to what we saw in the second half of the first episode. This time I expected to see how much Ellie learned from Joel after living together for three months and where in this opportunity an extremely dangerous event threatens to separate them and that is why to understand the reaction or action that Ellie must exercise, it is better to know part of her immediate past and see what she has also lost like many others.
Posiblemente, este nuevo episodio es el que más expectativas me había creado porque quería ver un completo protagonismo de Ellie y a pesar de que no se enfoca principalmente en el presente sino a una hermosa e imborrable vivencia, creo que de una manera existe ese reflejo en lo que ha sucedido entre ella y Joel en su peligroso viaje; justamente ese desarrollo que se observa en este episodio es que lo que me ha gustado porque se nota el plan que tienen tanto Mazin cómo de Neil Druckmann quien es el guionista de este episodio. La historia del pasado de Ellie antes que su mundo cambiara por completo era algo que necesitaba de ver y llega en un momento perfecto en esa versión porque cada vez más se necesita conocer más a este importante personaje, ver sus temores, motivos, lo que le hace feliz y lo que la hace sentir tristeza y creo que lo mejor es que no hay que olvidar que Ellie es una adolescente la cual desde su inocencia siente curiosidad de lo que fue el mundo antes de perderse completamente; en esos detalles hay que decir que el trabajo de Druckmann es excelente.
En el pasado episodio hice referencia sobre la buena dirección que realizó la directora Jasmila Žbanić que aprovechó el filmar en exteriores y así regalar muy buenas imágenes, aparte de otras escenas en dónde personajes nos regalas escenas con mucha carga emocional, en mi opinión es uno de mis episodios favoritos y eso también hizo que tuviera expectativas sobre cómo sería el trabajo en la dirección para este nuevo episodio. En esta oportunidad la dirección fue de Liza Johnson y la cual hizo un gran trabajo; en este episodio se retoma esa sensación de ver una historia que sí, pertenece a lo que nos muestra en la serie, pero puede encajar en otra producción, se siente independiente así como sucedió en el tercer episodio; me gusta mucho el filtro en cada escena, da un toque de ser un recuerdo que es relatado desde punto de vista de Ellie y es que de ese tono marrón, verde, negro, existe otros como fucsia, azul, morado y rosado lo cual contrarresta y hace más notorio a la escenografía. Otra cosa que me agradó es el tono tanto de los 80' como los 90', es algo válido y muy detallista, siempre recordando cuando es que comenzó la infección y que privo en mostrar diferentes aspectos de años siguientes, por eso, artefactos, autos, ropa, música siempre será enfocado en épocas recientes como las anteriormente nombradas.
Possibly, this new episode is the one that had created more expectations because I wanted to see a complete protagonism of Ellie and although it does not focus mainly on the present but to a beautiful and indelible experience, I think that in a way there is that reflection in what has happened between her and Joel in his dangerous journey; just that development that is observed in this episode is what I liked because you can see the plan that have both Mazin and Neil Druckmann who is the screenwriter of this episode. The story of Ellie's past before her world changed completely was something I needed to see and it comes at a perfect time in that version because more and more we need to know more about this important character, see her fears, motives, what makes her happy and what makes her sad and I think the best thing is that we must not forget that Ellie is a teenager who from her innocence is curious about what the world was before she lost herself completely; in those details we must say that the work of Druckmann is excellent.
In the last episode I made reference to the good direction made by the director Jasmila Žbanić who took advantage of filming on location and thus gave very good images, apart from other scenes where characters give us scenes with a lot of emotional charge, in my opinion it is one of my favorite episodes and that also made me have expectations about how the work in the direction would be for this new episode. This time the direction was by Liza Johnson and she did a great job; in this episode we get back that feeling of seeing a story that yes, it belongs to what you show us in the series, but it can fit in another production, it feels independent as it happened in the third episode; I really like the filter in each scene, it gives a touch of being a memory that is told from Ellie's point of view and it is that from that brown, green, black tone, there are others like fuchsia, blue, purple and pink which counteracts and makes the scenery more noticeable. Another thing that pleased me is the tone of both the 80's and 90's, it is something valid and very detailed, always remembering when the infection began and that deprived in showing different aspects of the following years, so, artifacts, cars, clothes, music will always be focused on recent times as previously mentioned.
Al ser un episodio enfocado en Ellie, era de esperar en que Bella Ramsey tuviera mucho más protagonismo, profundizar más en su personaje, verla junto a alguien a quien confía y considera como su mejor amiga; era necesario apreciar eso, ya que desde su primera escena la vemos siempre interactuar con personajes adultos. El trabajo que realiza es una extensión de lo que ya se ha demostrado aunque así como vimos en los minutos finales del anterior episodio, en esta oportunidad el desespero, la tristeza y miedo es más fuerte y todo eso nos demuestra las diferentes emociones que vivió Ellie en un reencuentro y despedida con alguien tan especial para ella; en eso Bella sigue haciendo un gran rol en ser una adolescente con muchas cosas infantiles y eso es debido por la ingenuidad de su personaje, también la valentía de enseñar sus sentimientos lo que la hace vulnerable y a la vez sentir mucha pasión, rabia, tristeza; es muy buena su actuación en esta parte de la historia.
Being an episode focused on Ellie, it was expected that Bella Ramsey had much more prominence, to go deeper into her character, to see her with someone she trusts and considers as her best friend; it was necessary to appreciate that, since from her first scene we see her always interacting with adult characters. The work she does is an extension of what has already been shown although just as we saw in the final minutes of the previous episode, this time the despair, sadness and fear is stronger and all that shows us the different emotions that Ellie lived in a reunion and farewell with someone so special to her; in that Bella continues to play a great role in being a teenager with many childish things and that is due to the naivety of her character, also the courage to show her feelings which makes her vulnerable and at the same time feel a lot of passion, anger, sadness; her performance in this part of the story is very good.
Me gustó mucho la perspectiva del episodio en mostrar cuál sería el comportamiento de Ellie con respecto al grave problema que debe enfrentar y de como en un recuerdo o experiencia del pasado que está muy unido a alguien que fue sumamente importante para ella servirá para explicar no solo sus acciones, sino que dará respuesta a muchas otras cosas, diferentes detalles que se ha visto del personaje en el transcurso de los seis episodios anteriores como por ejemplo, preguntar en varias oportunidades si obtendría un arma, su interacción y odio hacia los infectados, la necesidad de explorar, saber usas la casetera, los chites; en mi opinión todos esos detalles de este personaje en el transcurso de esta temporada tienen una especial importancia después de ver este episodio y me doy cuenta de lo importante que es el relato para esta producción y por eso la hace de lo mejor del año. Otra característica importante de "Left Behind" es ese tono especial dedicado a la perfecta cita, la expresión del amor, la necesidad de sentir amor para estos personajes que viven en un mundo devastado; solo quedan dos episodios antes de la finalización de la temporada, es claro que la experiencia de Ellie cómo ahora protectora de Joel no ha terminado y eso genera más expectativas porque el peligro parece no terminar.
I really liked the perspective of the episode in showing what would be the behavior of Ellie with respect to the serious problem she must face and how a memory or experience of the past that is very close to someone who was extremely important to her will serve to explain not only her actions, but will answer many other things, different details that have been seen of the character in the course of the previous six episodes such as asking several times if she would get a weapon, her interaction and hatred towards the infected, the need to explore, know how to use the cassette player, the chites; in my opinion all those details of this character in the course of this season have a special importance after watching this episode and I realize how important the story is for this production and that makes it one of the best of the year. Another important feature of "Left Behind" is that special tone dedicated to the perfect date, the expression of love, the need to feel love for these characters who live in a devastated world; there are only two episodes left before the end of the season, it is clear that the experience of Ellie as now protector of Joel is not over and that generates more expectations because the danger seems not to end.
