It is an American romance and science fiction film released in 2004, and since then it has been classified as a cult film and one of the most original films of the present century. It was written by Charlie Kaufman and directed by Maichel Gondry. The story focuses on a couple that manages to fulfill the wish that many of us have wanted: to erase each other's memories, but by fate itself, they get back together again.

Throughout the plot, we are involved in a psychological thriller and nothing linear, in which we discover romantic love and the nature of memory, where almost everything takes place in the mind of one of the protagonists while he is erasing the memories of his ex, only to realize that, while dreaming remembering, he is making a big mistake and tries to move her memories elsewhere in his mind and tries to wake up from the erasure of memories, unfortunately all in vain. During his last half-disintegrated memory something unexpected happens, she tells him where to get her, and that's what he does when he wakes up, while she also had an urgent need to go to a specific place for no reason, and right in that place, they both meet...

Without a doubt, my favorite movie of all time and one that is worth watching more than once, as there are so many details and at the same time you mix your own feelings and memories, that you lose some lines but watching it again, it gains more sense and meaning than we could ever wish for. It's almost a gift to get a movie so misaligned and so emotional at the same time, because even though its main plot is romance, it's not at all the typical strawberry love we all wish for, easy or unattainable that the others show. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, evokes the true value of bonds, of memory, of interrupted moments that leave a mark and are part of our ephemeral but amazing day d day.

A lot of people hate this movie because they are used to a vanilla love story and a narrative without so much sequence, but it's just this film that gives so many answers to so many doubts we've had at some point. It is the most genuine story of disappointment and love that makes you ask yourself what I started these lines with, which to be honest, I think it does...

Es una película de romance y ciencia ficción norteamericana estrenada en el 2004, y desde entonces es catalogada como película de culto y uno de los films más originales del presente siglo. Fue escrita por Charlie Kaufman y dirigida por Maichel Gondry. La historia se centra en una pareja que logra cumplir el deseo que muchos hemos querido: borrar los recuerdos uno del otro, pero por cosas del mismísimo destino vuelven a conseguirse.

Durante toda la trama, nos vemos envueltos en un thriller psicológico y nada lineal, en la descubrimos el amor romántico y la naturaleza de la memoria, donde casi todo se desarrolla en la mente de uno de los protagonistas mientras se encuentra borrando los recuerdos de su ex, solo para darse cuenta que, mientras “sueña recordando”, está cometiendo un gran error y trata de mover los recuerdos de ella a otra parte en su mente e intenta despertar del borrado de recuerdos, lamentablemente todo en vano. Durante su último recuerdo a medio desintegrar ocurre algo inesperado, ella le dice dónde conseguirla, y eso hace él al despertar, mientras ella también tenía una urgida necesidad de ir a un lugar específico sin ningún motivo, y justo en ese sitio, ambos se encuentran…

Sin duda alguna, mi película favorita de todos los tiempos y una que vale la pena ver más de una vez, ya que hay tantos detalles y al mismo tiempo mezclas tus propias sentimientos y recuerdos, que pierdes algunas líneas pero al verla nuevamente, gana más sentido y significado del que podíamos desear. Es casi un regalo conseguir una película tan desalineada y tan emocional al mismo tiempo, porque a pesar de que su trama principal es el romance, no es para nada el típico “amor fresa” que todos deseamos, fácil o inalcanzable que muestran las demás. Eterno Resplandor de una Mente sin Recuerdos, evoca el verdadero valor de los lazos, de la memoria, de los momentos interrumpidos que dejan una marca y que forman parte de nuestro día d día efímero pero sorprendente.

Mucha gente odia esta película porque están acostumbrados a una historia de amor vainilla y una narrativa sin tanta secuencia, pero es justo este film el que da muchas respuestas a tantas dudas que en algún momento hemos tenido. Es la historia de decepción y amor más genuina que te hace preguntar aquello con lo que comencé estas líneas, que para ser sincera, yo creo que sí...
