¡Greetings Hive community!
Today I bring you a review of the 2017 animated series "Castlevnia", to tell you the truth I have several scheduled posts of movies and series that I would like to recommend, but this one in particular I had not planned since I had not seen it until now. It was one of these series that you see a small piece in Tik Tok or another social network and I was interested, I looked for it and started watching it, and I tell you that I love it, it has everything that I like to see as historical references, a good plot with its development and conclusion, excellent animation and ending, which I will tell you a little of each thing in this post without as many spoilers as possible to leave you that little curiosity in the series.
Resumen de la serie
Series summary
Castlevania begins in the region of Wallachia in the middle ages, where many styles of beliefs predominate, especially Catholic Christianity, however humans are not the only ones who inhabit this region, there are many mysterious and terrifying creatures that populate the human regions of yesteryear. These creatures are mostly vampires and in Wallachia reigns none other than the most powerful Vampire of all times Count "Vlad Dracula Tepes" who in his huge castle rules over the other Vampire communities and is surrounded by corpses nailed to wooden stakes as a warning sign. Análisis de personaje
Character analysis
Although the plot goes much further than the summary, since this fragment is only the tip of the Iceberg of the series, it is essential to place it so that you can understand what it is about, since this conflict is what moves the whole plot from the beginning to the end. In this part I will talk a little about the characters that in my opinion are essential to the plot.
Trevor Belmont: It is difficult to be the only character who knows how to kill and how demons and vampires act when for the rest of humanity you are guilty in the eyes of the Christian-Catholic god according to his parishioners. Trevor from the beginning tried to go unnoticed as a drunken vagabond not interested in anything or anyone but this has a reason to be and most of the perpetrators were the same that brought misfortune to humanity, the church, Trevor had no interest in doing so against the hordes of Dracula as most people reproached him because his family name was excommunicated by the church and lost all prestige as people. However, upon seeing the massacre of children and innocent people who only sought to survive in the cities and the precarious inhuman situations in which the inhabitants found themselves, he gradually decided to step back from his pride and become the leader that the citizens needed to fight the demons, even though the church would not tire of hindering his path.
Sypha Belnades: At first glance she seemed the most capricious and weak character in the series, especially in how she entered the plot. She seemed like a simple girl who belonged to a caravan of hermits, going from town to town telling stories so that they would not be lost in time. Her encounter with Trevor was neither the friendliest nor the most terrible, being totally opposite in itself, she was interested in others and worried about their welfare, even Trevor underestimated her and pushed her aside, but her defiant attitude was enough for Sypha to unleash her potential, proving to be a talented sorceress that if it weren't for her many times Trevor doesn't count her. Since they have been together, Sypha went from being a simple accountant, to a warrior that with each episode proved to be more powerful than many vampires.
Adrian Tepes / Alucard: It would be ironic to say that the son of Dracula himself would be against what his father was doing since it was for revenge for what was done to his mother, but it was because Alucard himself was the only one aware that it was a mistake since he knew that his mother would not have wanted it. By joining with Trevor and Sypha, he would be the 1st most powerful member of the three, due to the fact that being the son of the king of the vampires placed him above the other vampires of the court and his human half made him immune to the sun, so he could fight at all times. Alucard generated a very genuine emotional bond with his team beyond valuing the lives of humans like his mother and it would be his own personal experiences with other humans that would give him a point in favor of his father's ideals, which would lead the little vampire to forge his own path.
Hector and Isaac: Both are the only people in whom Dracula places his trust since they are in command of his armies of demons. Unfortunately this made them victims of conspiracies where each one must make decisions despite their loyalty and ideals shared by Dracula. Both have a development that is directed to create their own life purpose, but the paths of both will be rough and difficult that almost leads them to the brink of death.

Concluding remarks
Well here is where I unleash and leave my views around the series, I will try to be orderly in my ideas to not confuse you. Let's start with what excites me the most, the historical references of this series are exquisite for any lover of universal history and those who like the Middle Ages. It grabs historical elements that happened in real life to create its own story of fantasies and with mythological creatures, just giving us the name of the first villain Vlad Dracula Tepes, the name Vlad and the surname Tepes come from nothing more and nothing less than the character of medieval history at the time of the Catholic Inquisition Vlad Tepes or Vlad the Impaler, who was a ruthless prince of the region of Wallachia which is inspired by the same myth of Count Dracula, Vlad used to have extreme and ruthless measures to govern his region, and one of them was to impale his victims alive with wooden stakes and place them around the entire region of his castle as a warning and a message, as we refer to the same field of impaled corpses at the beginning of the series.
Another important aspect that I liked was the fact of making us understand that no matter how naive the people of that time were, they had reasons to do so, practically no one had access to a book, documentary or something that would make them get clear information but they depended entirely on those who had more resources and power to influence and trust their words. The church was not the only one that handled the information of the nations to rule but silenced or labeled as heretics the others that also had information but did not believe that things came from a god, what happened with Lisa Tepes was the clear example, she did not believe in god but in the supernatural for obvious reasons, but there was also something that Dracula himself showed her, science, that explains most of the things that humans considered magic or sorcery, and that said by the vampires themselves, humans are behind in the food chain because they forget and vampires don't, and destroy all those who don't share their same ideas as in the case of Lisa Tepes, accused of being a witch for only doing medical science and delaying a possible advance for humanity. Something that is not far from our reality and history.
Finally, I would like to say that the series has a simple plot, it is not difficult to understand and is maintained throughout the chapters, where every detail is important to take into account, there are no good or bad guys, and no one is what they seem despite their appearance. Even in matters such as love, it is not necessarily introduced, but rather the development of love in the characters is understood without the need to capture it graphically or take an entire episode to do so. There are surprises and things that you will believe until you see the rest of the chapter, not to mention the good animation that has the series, but I warn you that it is quite graphic around the blood and uncensored of the massacres that occur.
Well my dear readers of film and television, so far my review, I hope you liked my review and do not forget to share your opinion about it in the comments, I'll be happy to read it. I am sure that for lovers of history, myths, horror and anime, you may be interested.
