Although in general terms my feelings regarding the MCU are negative, I admit that I always try to give its most recent releases a chance, something perfectly logical if we take into account that despite all its mistakes it occasionally manages to surprise us with a solid film (GOTG Vol3 and Wakanda Forever being recent examples).
However, I regret to inform you that although the entertainment is still present, "The Marvels" is a work much closer to a disaster like Ant-Man 3 than to the previously mentioned examples in terms of artistic quality.
It did not have an easy task, apart from presenting itself as a sequel to the moderately successful "Captain Marvel", The Marvels would also be as an indirect sequence of the exclusive Disney Plus series "Mrs. Marvel", as well as a spin off of one of Wandavision subplots.
For many, the problem here is clear, unlike other MCU entries, "The Marvels" required a large amount of time invested to even get to know its main characters, who, unlike other more recognizable faces, had not had as many opportunities. to shine
However, after the initial shock of seeing this trio of girls reintroduced, it is evident that the problem with this film has not so much to do with the previous elements of the MCU that are used for its structure, but rather with the inability to its own story to have a clear focus in terms of style and substance.
And beyond the usual errors (bad special effects, boring choreography, embarrassing dialogue and an extremely long duration) The Marvels would have been much more enjoyable if it had a clear theme beyond the current villain and the formulaic strategy to defeat him.
On paper there are good ideas and I am surprised by the 180° turn that Brie Larson's controversial character took to become someone much more pleasant and human, something that is also greatly benefited by the presence of her co-stars (x) who without a doubt They provide a refreshing dynamic with the terrible resources that the script gives them.
Entertaining but empty, I didn't expect more.

A pesar de que en términos generales mis sentimientos respecto al MCU son negativos, admito que siempre procuro darle una oportunidad a sus lanzamientos más recientes, algo perfectamente lógico si tomamos en cuenta que a pesar de todos sus errores de vez en cuando logra sorprendernos con un filme solido (GOTG Vol3 y Wakanda Forever siendo ejemplos recientes).
No obstante, lamento informarles que a pesar de que el entretenimiento sigue estando presente, "The Marvels" es una obra mucho más cercana a un desastre como Ant-Man 3 que a los ejemplos previamente mencionados en términos de calidad artística.
No tenía una tarea fácil, aparte de presentarse como una secuela de la medianamente exitosa "Captain Marvel", The Marvels también sería como una secuencia indirecta de la serie exclusiva de Disney Plus "Mrs.Marvel", así como un spin off de una de las subtramas de Wandavision.
Para muchos el problema aquí es claro, a diferencia de otras entradas del MCU "The Marvels" requería una gran cantidad de tiempo invertido para siquiera conocer a sus personajes principales, los cuales, a diferencia de otros rostros más reconocibles, no habían tenido tantas oportunidades de brillar.
No obstante, luego del latigazo inicial que supone ver a este trío de chicas reintroducido, es evidente que el problema de este filme no tiene que ver tanto con los elementos previos del MCU que se usan para su estructuración, sino más bien con la incapacidad de su propia historia para tener un enfoque claro en términos de estilo y sustancia.
Y es que más allá de los errores usuales (Malos efectos especiales, coreografías aburridas, diálogos vergonzosos y una duración extremadamente larga) The Marvels hubiese Sido mucho más agradable si tuviese un tema claro más allá del villano de turno y la formulaíca estrategia para derrotarle.
En papel hay ideas buenas y me sorprende el giro de 180° que dió el controversial personaje de Brie Larson para convertirse en alguien mucho más agradable y humano, algo que también se ve muy beneficiado por la presencia de sus coestrellas (x) quienes sin duda brindan una dinámica refrescante con los pesimos recursos que el guión les brinda.
Entretenida pero vacía, no esperaba más.
