After a good time with quite irregular releases in cinema (let's admit it, No Way Home did not have much quality beyond fanservice and The Eternals was the last minimally ingenious) Taika Waititi I came to save the panorama of the MCU with a work that demonstrates a skill wonderful for intermingling the irreverent with the emotional.
Love and Thunder feels totally unnecessary and at all times takes advantage of this same nature to present us with a clever and crazy story that takes the best elements of the galactic side of Marvel to trap us.
Although his narrative arc seemed to have concluded with the events of Endgame, the god of thunder still had a couple of tragedies to offer us, many taken from plot points abandoned for almost a decade that we thought we would never see developed again. If Thor Ragnarok was a facelift for a franchise that needed it, where Thor lost everything and had to recover it by heart, Love And Thunder seems to be in much more harmony with its conservative mythological beginnings, insisting on mixing everything under one A quite experimental Rock and Roll aesthetic that fits like a glove, it is an infinitely more intimate and existentialist work, where a good portion of the conflict is released by its characters internally.
It's far from perfect, obviously, but Thor Love and Thunder feels like an incredibly light movie, removed from those structural problems that plague the MCU with each release and dedicated to telling us an honest and contained story. It has an exceptional cast, an impeccable visual style and a couple of unexpected moments.
After just a couple of minutes it not only takes care of justifying its existence, but reminds us why this cinematic universe used to be so exciting. Thor Love and Thunder, not only meets what all of us who were Ragnarok fans expected at the time, but also exceeds it in several aspects.
It is not for everyone, obviously, its tone is quite strange and it goes very quickly from drama to comedy, although in this same agility that can bewilder its viewers lies its
own magnetism.

Luego de un buen tiempo con lanzamientos bastante irregulares en cine (Admitamoslo, No Way Home no tenía mucha calidad más allá del fanservice y The Eternals fue lo último mínimamente ingenioso) Taika Waititi vine a salvar el panorama del MCU con una obra que demuestra una habilidad maravillosa para entremezlcar lo irreverente con lo emocional.
Love and Thunder se siente totalmente innecesaria y en todo momento aprovecha esta misma naturaleza para presentarnos una historia ingeniosa y alocada que toma los mejores elementos del lado galáctico de Marvel para atraparnos.
Aunque su arco narrativo parecía haber concluido con los eventos de Endgame, el dios del trueno aún tenía un par de tragedias por ofrecernos, muchas tomadas de plot points abandonados desde casi una década que creíamos que nunca volveríamos a ver desarrollados. Si Thor Ragnarok era un lavado de cara a una franquicia que lo necesitaba, en dónde Thor lo perdía todo y debía recuperarlo a puro pulso, Love And Thunder parece encontrarse en mucha más armonía con sus inicios mitologicos tan conservadores, empeñandose en mezclar todo bajo una estética Rock and Roll bastante experimental que le queda como anillo al dedo, es una obra infinitamente más íntima y existencialista, en dónde una buena porción del conflicto lo liberan sus personajes internamente.
Dista de la perfección, obviamente, pero Thor Love and Thunder se siente como una película increíblemente ligera, alejada de aquellos problemas estructurales que inhundan al MCU con cada lanzamiento y dedicada a contarnos una historia honesta y contenida. Cuenta con un cast excepcional, un estilo visual impecable y un par de momentos inesperados.
Luego de solo un par de minutos no solo se encarga de justificar su existencia, sino que nos recuerda por qué este universo cinematográfico solía ser tan emocionante. Thor Love and Thunder, no solo cumple con aquello que esperábamos todos los que fuimos fans de Ragnarok en su momento, sino que la supera en varios aspectos.
No es para todo el mundo, obviamente, su tono es bastante extraño y va muy rápido del drama a la comedia, aunque en esta misma agilidad que puede desconcertar a sus espectadores yace su
Propio magnetismo.
