Hi, Friends of hive. Once again sharing with you. Continuing with the Disney + movies I brought you the review of Cruella.
A movie released in 2021 and starring Emma Stone, this is an adaptation of the classic 101 Dalmatians movies. Playing the role of the classic villain, they show us a cruella like we've never seen her before.
Summary
Follow the story of Stella Miller, who since her birth has proven to be different from the rest of her. With impressive creativity and ingenuity, she stands out from the rest and not always for the better. After being expelled from school for her constant misconduct, she and her mother move to London. Along the way, a meeting with the Baroness (famous designer) ends in the tragic death of her mother. Feeling guilty for her death, Stella runs away and ends up befriending Jasper and Horacio, she stays with them and becomes an ambitious con artist but still has a dream: To be a fashion designer.
Opinion
I saw the movie with very low expectations, I had just finished "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" and "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms". Although I liked the Nutcracker more than Maleficent, I was still tired of villains who aren't really villains, just misunderstood beings and all that. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by Cruella. I have nothing left but to praise the film from start to finish.
Starting with the death of her mother, this marked a before and after in Stella's life. Her death seemed unexpected to me and more in the children's movies that Disney is releasing lately (in the last two movies I saw, the villain is turned into a goat or a toy) in the end she ended up receiving a PG 13 rating for her scenes of violence. Good for it.
This is not a movie of heroes and villains; it is a competition to determine who is more villainous. It is based on the fashion industry, therefore the styles, the fashion, the glamour, a total beauty. It is a delight for the eyes. Cruella proved to be an innovator, a visionary, with an exceptional talent. She is the future.
The villain of the film, "The Baroness" is the very embodiment of ambition. Sweeping through everything in her path to ensure success and a solid position in the industry. She's a liar, ambitious, controlling, and she's not afraid to get her hands dirty with blood. Everything a villain should be. There comes a point in the movie where Cruella becomes her, but better.
And although she expected one more death, just to put an end to this battle of villains. I am not disappointed by the lack of it. A single death that was significant to Cruella, that was enough.
Conclution
An excellent film, which has well deserved its Grammy nomination. There is not a single scene in the movie that I disliked; everything was perfect. I hope they continue like this.
10/10
