A week ago I first posted Episode 1 of Mobland and I notice not many ppl online was talking about it but men is this series skyrocketing in numbers, it seems breaking records on Paramount+ after 1923 and Landman as one of the most watch series on the platform, at the end of the day the question remains the same, is Mobland (2025) that great? well not really.
After watching episodes 2 and 3 I consider Mobland a very good series although not a great one, not in the levels of The Mandalorian, Silo or The Penguin, just to mention a few recent great TV series that you always waiting for the next episode. I don't have complains and only accept it for what it is, a great drama. At the moment there is not much of the narcotics traffic aspect of showing how they do business, all we got for now is a war between the two biggest mob families in the UK, in my opinion it looks like the series is doing a lot with very few characters for now.

With Archie dead there are a lot of questions, for the surprise of the Harrigans, the police had a lot of questions for Harry and its here were they start to suspect that Archie was a snitch and not necessarily a traitor working for the Stevenson. Harry took care of the body and put him on a cemetery next to a women but they never show scenes of this happening, reason I mention this is because on episode 3 there is a particular scene involve on how Harry dispose the body. I always wonder how Harry became to be an important part of the family if he is not a Harrigan and on episode two the series starts giving us some flashbacks that will serve as context from now on and I think this wont stop, during this flashbacks is when I learn that Harry and Kevin were together in juvie and I would only guess Harry at some point became his friend and looking for his back.
The hole interaction between Kevin and Harry is sad once you start figuring out Kevin seem to be too soft with everyone even though he is Conrad son in contrast he is just too soft, its the case with his son Eddie and to make things worst seem to be that either his wife Bella had something with Harry in the past but the truth is she is not so satisfied as she keeps tempting Harry on a very seductive way.
The duo of Conrad and Maeve on episode 2 sets a more clear tone of who is the real boss, during the intro of the series we can see the head of Medusa and after comes Maeve, thats how it really feels since there is a scene where she talks to Conrad almost like trying to tell him what to do and he answers "Dont forge Im still the judge..." so at least its clear he is not a 110% puppet but its true that Maeve has a lot of influence on what he decides, same backwards since Conrad does ask Maeve for her opinion on the Fentanyl deal.
Overall the Harrigan family is an interesting mess of dysfunction, with Conrad and Maeve at the top trying to maintain control while their son Kevin deals with his troublemaker kid Eddie, but I find hard that there is no one after Kevin in the family, reason why Harry becomes the man who make things happen, almost like the brother Kevin never had although he does have another brother and half sister in the making money side but not gangster side of the business.
Things really escalate when Richie Stevensons talks to Kevin and him things going to go down if he cant find his son but Harry was still at the cops, its been more than a day and Tommy has not come home, this make the Harrigans enter panic mode and send Eddie to Costwolds where Conrad is, even though its just a house outside the city might be consider as their HQ but the series does show is heavily protect so we only have to take their word. Within the series there is a lot that happens just because without much context, this is when I mention before that the series is trying to do a lot with very little but they must add more context to things instead of just assuming or making the audience take their word.
We do get some action scenes, cool ones although nothing spectacular since it almost felt like I have seen it before in a movie, reason for this is because it was very very classic car chase on top there is the fact that on the series many times either Harry or associates confront the Stevenson's goons without any kind of fear at all like the Harrigans are the law, so they why are they so afraid of Richie??
