Its been a few days since I sat down to write something, between work and a week of been sick things really got messy but I havent stop watching content although did stop writing since I was feeling like. I didnt want to pass on making about post about Peacemaker season two finale that just threw everything I thought was gonna happen right out the window and honestly I still think that what happens with Chris getting shipped off too another dimension by Rick Flag Sr doesnt make that much sense but it is what it is, this whole episode had went through more context with that sweet ass flashback showing us what really happend on that boat with Hardcourt and ending with Chris alone on some hostile planet hearing god knows what kind of creatures roaring in the backround. The way James Gunn structured this finale felt more like an emotional strike than your typical action packed ending and Im not so sure if it worked way better than I expected even though part of me wanted too see more of the team actually doing something together before everything went too hell with Chris, them now having their own agency is cool and everything but not the action ending I was expecting, its more like a "live happily ever after".

That opening scene one month ago with Chris and Hardcourt at Big Belly Burger really set the tone for what this episode was trying too accomplish, you could see these two people who spent there entire lifes building walls around themselves finally letting there guard down and just enjoying each others company without all the ARGUS bullshit getting in the way. The Nelson concert on the boat was probly the most romantic thing this show has ever done and seeing Hardcourt actually smile and dance with Chris made me realize how much this season was really about these two finding something real in a world that keeps trying too tear them apart, that kiss they shared wasnt just some random hookup like everyone kept implying throughout the season it ment everything too both of them even if Hardcourt ran away from it like she always does when things get too real. Watching Chris save that ticket in his mirror for a whole month showed how much that night ment too him and thats what I think made the ending hit even harder knowing he finally got the confirmation he needed from her right before Flag ripped it all away from him.
The whole Rick Flag Sr situation this episode really pissed me off because the way they handeled his character development from through Superman and now into Peacemaker just dosent add up at all, one minute hes going hard on trying too save the world and showing he understands metahumans can be good people then suddenly hes building a prison planet with Lex Luthor to lock up every single metahuman on Earth forever. I get that hes angry about his son getting killed and wants revenge on Chris but going full on human supremacist and teaming up with the same guy who almost destroyed Metropolis feels like such a huge conflict that goes against the "building a better world", they needed at least a few more episodes showing his gradual descent into this mindset instead of just having him flip a switch and become this cold hearted bastard who dosent care how many ARGUS agents die exploring dangerous dimensions as long as he gets his perfect prison planet, that part really felt crunch him turning his back on all his agents and teaming up with Luthor gang while other get the face turn apart by little fantasy demons, Im referring to that scene where Klein gets his face eaten by those creepy little demons in the candy dimension was brutal and Flag didnt even flinch he just kept pushing forward with his plan like human lifes dont matter anymore as long as hes sticking it too the metahumans.
The best part of this whole episode was hands down that intervention scene where the 11th Street Kids finally track down Chris at his motel and refuse too let him leave, Adabio giving that speech about how Chris isnt cursed he just keeps listening too other people instead of himself was exactly what this show needed after spending most of the season with everyone split up doing there own thing, it kinda remind me of "The Wheel of Time" and it was getting annoying. Danielle Brooks absolutely killed it in that moment and she might be the real heart of this entire show even more than Chris himself because without her none of these other characters would have grown at all. Vigilante tackling Chris and tasering him was perfect and seeing everyone take turns explaining why he matters too them finally gave us that found family feeling that made season one so damn good, Economos talking about feeling loved and Vigilante admiting hes a huge coward but still puts himself on the line for Chris and then Hardcourt finally saying yeah the boat ment everything too me had me feeling all kinds of ways. I got to admit Im not a fan at all but the song is catchy and when Foxy Shazam started playing and Chris just started dancing and fist pumping because he was so happy that Hardcourt actually cared about him was probly the most pure joy seen from this character in two seasons and it made what happend next hurt so much worse, they gave us like five whole minuets of happyness watching them form Checkmate and go too another Foxy Shazam concert before Flag showed up and ruined everything for Chris.
The Checkmate stuff at the end felt kinda rushed even though it was expected when you add up things, from Adabio agency dream to Vigilante blood money by the thousands to start there own agency away from ARGUS makes sense, Sasha Bordeaux was not a surprise she joins them but Langston Flurry probably just went with and Judo Master who I didnt like that much at first felt a good addition too to make this weird ass team of misfits but we barely got any time with them before Chris got kidnapped. That slow motion walk with everyone looking all badass would have hit way harder if we actually got too see them do something together as a team instead of just walking out of an office, I guess this is the setup as who is going to be working the case chasing ARGUS once they figure out what happen to Chris, I wanted atleast one scene of Checkmate actually in action before Rick Flag dragging Chris through a portal. That final scene with Chris alone on Planet Salvation hearing those creature sounds in the distance was chilling and John Cena really sold that oh shit moment like "I am so screwed" expression on his face, knowing hes stuck there both as an experiment and punishment too test if humans can survive on that planet before Flag starts shipping actual metahumans there is such a cold blooded way too get revenge and it makes me wonder if we will ever see Chris get rescued or if this is just setting up him showing up in Superman Man of Tomorrow already adapted too his new hostile enviroment. Im almost certain very soon we will get confirmation of season three. I give this last episode a 7/10 even though the last three episodes where so good, this often happens where we get two to three really good episodes and then either the momentum start to go down a cliff or it feels very flat, in this case I think it was goind down and they were force to crunch things and at the same time impose a cliffhanger.
