Halloween está a la vuelta de la esquina y, ¿qué mejor forma de esperarlo que una buena película para espelucarnos? El horror, en cualquier sentido, es un género al que le he tomado cariño aunque no me deje dormir después, LOL. En lo particular, soy fanático del gore y el terror inteligente, ¿eso existe? Tal vez solo sean ideas mías nada más, aunque he de admitir que mi gusto nació por el maestro Edgar Allan Poe, ¡soy un fan de sus historias! De ahí el origen de ese amor por las películas con toques de horror psicológico, o sea, esas que hablan de la pesadilla que nace en la mente y se materializa en monstruosidades inimaginables.
Punto y aparte a lo acotado anteriormente, he de admitir que tengo un considerable amor por el horror con humor negro, ¡vaya que sí! Si también hay misterio y ciencia ficción, ¡Dios mío me engancharás demasiado! Cuando era adolescente le tomé cierto cariño a estas producciones tras ver Scary Movie, una dantesca y desmesurada versión de lo que puede significar el género del Slasher: un asesino, una serie de victimas, y un misterio rodeado de suspenso, sangre y gritos desgarradores. Al final, casi nadie puede sobrevivir y se devela la identidad (o no) del criminal psicópata…
Happy Death Day es un slasher que, al menos en estos aspectos, hace honor al género… hasta cierto punto. En primer lugar, la víctima revive tras cada muerte, y eso le da un toque disparatado al asunto. Para Tree, nuestra protagonista, un navajazo no es más que una pastilla para dormir que la enviará de vuelta a su día de cumpleaños, sana y salva, lista para que alguien misterioso le haga el favor de acabar con su reprochable vida. La sucesión de eventos que rodean la película resulta ser curiosa y a la vez fascinante. Vale, puede que el film en sí no sea épico, ¡pero vaya forma de darle un giro al asunto!

Horror, in any sense, is a genre that I've grown fond of even if it doesn't let me sleep afterwards, LOL. In particular, I am a fan of gore and intelligent horror, does that exist? Maybe they are just my ideas, nothing more, although I have to admit that my taste was born by the teacher Edgar Allan Poe, I am a fan of his stories! Hence the origin of that love for films with touches of psychological horror, that is, those that speak of the nightmare that is born in the mind and materializes in unimaginable monstrosities.
Point and apart from what I mentioned above, I have to admit that I have a considerable love for horror with black humor, oh yes! If there is also mystery and science fiction, my God you will hook me too much! When I was a teenager I took a certain liking to these productions after seeing Scary Movie, a Dantesque and excessive version of what the Slasher genre can mean: a murderer, a series of victims, and a mystery surrounded by suspense, blood and heartbreaking screams. In the end, hardly anyone can survive and the identity (or not) of the psychopathic criminal is revealed...
Happy Death Day is a slasher that, at least in these respects, lives up to the genre… up to a certain point. First of all, the victim revives after each death, and that adds a crazy touch to the whole thing. For Tree, our protagonist, a knife is nothing more than a sleeping pill that will send her back to her birthday, safe and sound, ready for someone mysterious to do her the favor of ending her reprehensible life. . The succession of events surrounding the film turns out to be curious and at the same time fascinating. Okay, the film itself may not be epic, but what a way to put a twist on it!
O sea, imagínate que todos los días despiertas a la misma hora y fecha donde ocurre un evento trascendental, ¿tendrías la oportunidad de cambiar ese evento? El horror, en este aspecto, parece ser el tiempo, aunque a la misma vez sea un regalo. Lo primero que recordé al ver Happy Death Day fue lo sucedido en Groundhog Day con Bill Murray… hay tanta similitudes entre ambos largometrajes, o al menos en cuanto a los bucles temporales. Del resto, asistimos a una persecución entre la vida y la muerte con un cuchillo que no es para el pastel, sino para el cuello. Todo bajo la máscara de un asesino con un siniestro rostro de bebé… ¿coincidencia? No lo creo.
El largometraje es sutilmente sangriento, no hay un gore sustancial pero la sangre está presente de forma reservada. El personaje principal morirá el mismo día, sí, pero de formas muy diversas, cada una mucho peor que la otra. Todo nos lleva a suponer la identidad del asesino, digamos que la historia trata básicamente de eso: ¿Quién se esconde tras la máscara? Aunque la verdad, además del toque siniestro y las muertes que se repiten, a mí me llamó la atención otra cosa:
¿Cómo es que esa mujer revive cada vez que la asesinan? Si el día termina y ella sigue vive, ¿se repetirá el bucle si muere al día siguiente? Parece que en estos aspectos, el film es una paradoja. Happy Death Day es una buena opción para reír y buscar respuestas en la noche de Halloween, obviamente, si no te gustan las películas con toques más dantescos, XD.

Although the truth, in addition to the sinister touch and the deaths that are repeated, something else caught my attention:
How is it that this woman revives every time she is murdered? If the day ends and she is still alive, will the loop repeat for her if she dies the next day? It seems that in these aspects, the film is a paradox. Happy Death Day is a good option to laugh and look for answers on Halloween night, obviously, if you don't like movies with more Dantesque touches, XD.
En mi adolescencia hubo una etapa donde fui bombardeado por el género Slasher con las películas de Michael Myers, Scream, I Know What You Did Last Sumer, Chuky (LOL), etc. Sé que pueden no ser lo mejor del género, pero al menos a mi me gustaron e incluso hoy las miro con cariño. ¿Cariño? Sí, cariño del bueno, no piensen que soy un psicópata… solo me gustan los de la televisión, lol.
Happy Death Day la vi en mis épocas de universitario, tras muchos años sin incursionar en el género. Me encontré con una agradable sorpresa: una historia entretenida con un toque diferente, aunque sin escapar de lo clásico. Lo del bucle temporal fue lo que me atrajo de inmediato, de otra forma tal vez no hubiera visto el film. De esta travesía de cazador y presa se desprendieron dos películas, en la segunda se aclaran muchas de esas dudas que tanto acorralaron mi cabeza. la esencia del film se traslada, a continuación, a un multiverso…
¿Todavía Happy Death Day sigue siendo Slasher? Como les dije, no es la típica del genero, XD.

I found myself with a pleasant surprise: an entertaining story with a different touch, although without escaping from the classic. The time loop was what immediately attracted me, otherwise I might not have seen the film. Two films came out of this journey of hunter and prey, in the second many of those doubts that cornered my head so much are clarified. the essence of the film is then transferred to a multiverse...
Is Happy Death Day still Slasher? As I told you, it's not typical of the genre, XD.
Happy Death Day 2 continúa el bucle de tiempo aunque bajo una nueva línea de asesinatos. Esta vez Tree se enfrenta a nuevos horrores, con un toque de humor característico y descabelladas formas de morir. Todo se nos presenta en el mismo escenario, con el peligro vestido de negro y con máscara de bebé. La secuela, si bien conserva sus características originales, cambia completamente la razón de muerte de la protagonista, la cual ahora se involucra por decisión propia. Ella no es la víctima que desea el asesino, pero aun así, está decidida a atraparlo.
Esperé una tercera parte, pero al parecer, no es algo que llegue al menos por los momentos. Lo que sí es seguro es que Happy Death Day, ambas partes, simbolizan un punto y aparte al convencionalismo del Slasher. Un poco de todo, como una pequeña sopa, es suficiente para hacerlo interesante. Esta no es una película perfecta, aunque no por eso es del todo mala. Es como esa golosina que nadie espera recibir la noche de brujas, aunque después de saborearla resulta ser un verdadero manjar.
Solo puedo asegurarte que los cumpleaños nunca habían sido tan siniestros, lol.
Happy Death Day 2 continues the time loop albeit under a new line of murder. This time Tree faces new horrors, with a touch of characteristic humor and crazy ways to die. Everything is presented to us on the same stage, with danger dressed in black and with a baby mask. The sequel, although it preserves the original characteristics, completely changes the reason for the death of the protagonist, who is now involved by her own decision. She is not the victim the killer wants, but still, she is determined to catch him.
I waited for a third part, but apparently, it is not something that arrives at least for the moment. What is certain is that Happy Death Day, both parts, symbolize a full stop to the conventionalism of the Slasher. A little bit of everything, like a little soup, is enough to make it interesting. This is not a perfect movie, although that does not make it all bad. It is like that candy that nobody expects to receive on Halloween, although after tasting it it turns out to be a real delicacy.
I can only assure you that birthdays have never been so sinister, lol.
El horror puede presentarse de cualquier forma, incluso con un pastel, XD. Cualquier película que nos haga temblar de miedo será suficiente para celebrar con Halloween con honores. Algunos irán a pedir dulces, otros a fiestas de disfraces… aunque hay algunos, como yo, que prefieren celebrarlo desde casa, con palomitas de maíz y unas buenas historias clásicas que solo el cine nos obsequia.
De cualquier forma, la intención es divertirse y entretenerse, aunque del otro lado de la pantalla solo se sufra y se huya del asesino, LOL. Lo bueno es que solo se trata de ficción… aunque por las noches no podamos dormir.
¡Vaya que eso si es terror puro!
Horror can be presented in any way, even with a cake, XD. Any movie that makes us tremble with fear will be enough to celebrate Halloween with honors. Some will go trick-or-treating, others to costume parties... although there are some, like me, who prefer to celebrate it from home, with popcorn and good classic stories that only the cinema gives us.
