The theory of weather control is not new on our planet, as rumors and rumors spread previously that major countries such as China and America ... have been working for a long time to create technologies that enable them to control and control the weather in most parts of the world,
The movie before us takes this theory to reality, as it revolves around the possibility of satellites that were designed and built to control global weather to attack the planet, and if the reason behind this danger is not found before it is too late, life as we know it on the face of the earth may be wiped out completely.
The film remains with a unique and interesting idea, but is it a unique cinematic work? It can be seen as a little fun watching the events without any added value. It remains a business whose only concern is to target the audience of entertainment in order to reap profits.
The first factor that makes this movie uninteresting is that the general topic it discusses is; Disasters caused by the weather, we have seen it in many previous films, and the first example that comes to mind is the movie The Day After Tomorrow or the movie 2012 ..., these works share the same idea with this movie; Except that Geostorm excels in weather control theory. But in general, the same topic we saw previously.
The thing that will lead us to compare the visual effects, when we say that films with the same topic were previously released means that this film, which was released in the year 2017, will have breathtaking visual effects, but is it so? We may say to some extent ... it is not of revolutionary effects in the field, but there is nothing wrong with it where it suffers from the problem of color, as the scenes that are visual effects do not attract the eyes at all, due to the mishandling of color correction technology or what is called in English in English color grading, with some scenes being too dull and eye-catching. I wish most directors had seen Wonder Woman and had a particular focus on the color aspect. Thanks to its judicious handling of color correction, this film is exciting and attractive.
There is another point in the film that everyone who saw it will notice, which is the very rapid progress in events that may be considered good for some, especially those who like to always start films directly in the center of the topic and the idea that revolves around it. But it may be considered a negative matter for some, if you did not build your film in terms of characters and plot events at a moderate pace and this escalated harmony in the story or your concern is to reach the middle of the events, this is for some a weakness.
As for the performance of the characters, there is nothing wrong with them, there is no fault or exception about them, the performance of the same level as the film in general. And the film remains, as we said, intended for the audience to enjoy an hour and fifty minutes, after which you will quickly forget it, and it is not considered the kind of movie that you may watch more than once.
The film is directed by Dean Devlin, and starring Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess and Abbie Cornish.
