After a long-overdue plan, I went to watch Michael yesterday.

I have always been fond of dancing, Hip-Hop, Openstyle, Krumping, and so on. It was only after the death of Michael that I came to know him. Maybe because I was born on later 90's. As I became familiar with the name, I would watch all the videos of him. Even my dance interest expanded with the availability of the internet, his form and style were highly relevant, with tributes from some of the best dancers around the world, esp. Les Twins; my interest in dancing again accelerated in his footsteps over time.
I have been a casual dancer since 2010, did some shows, and so on. So, that's how I saw Michael and became a fan of his ever since.
Michael:
The movie is more about Michael finding himself and the journey that comes with it. Its story revolves around his relationship with his father, his lost childhood, and the idea he embraces for his music. With his personal growth, the movie embraces the kindness of Michael and his contributions to his family, extending to the helpless and needy ones in the community.
The movie starts with the existing background of Michael's musical life with his brothers. One can see he had quite a vibe with his musical preferences, but he couldn't open of as of the fear of his father. His performance stars through his stage show with a smile, even though he was in pain.
And, as he grows up, his talents are discovered by different record labels, and his musical and dance grows along the time, watching different shows on TV. There is a bit of a lack of depth to how his core depth of music and dance is followed, but I can take that as everything is squeezed into the 2-hour movie. Sometimes, the same pattern of showcase happens over-time which kind of distracted me for a bit. But rest was just fine.
The musical features were what were distinguishable, and Jaafar, in some scenes, was great. Once, for a while, I thought it was Michael, just to realize all that was done by him, not with some visual effects, gave me goosebumps. The musicals and the visualization were something that blew my mind, also the replica of Michael himself in Jaafar keeps you on the edge of your seat. Most of the close-up shots would bring the audience closer to the emotions and mind of Michael. I feel Jaafar was outstanding here.
As we know the Michael story, the movie has added some of his thought-provoking initiatives and actions that mattered to the community, and also added a sense of freedom.
I thoroughly enjoyed the film, with the music and the visuals adding the exact replicas of MJ shows around the world. There's always more to ask, but the Movie did the job for me. This is a must-watch movie for any music lover, not just MJ fans.
