Hey there everyone!
It's been a while I posted in this community. I had to leave for a while and explore the rest of the Hive blockchain but I'm back now with a lot of motivation to continue.
So, I have returned to this community with a change of plans on how my activities would be. Instead of making many posts in a week, I have decided that from now I will make one or two posts per week and focus more on engaging with other posts. I want to be able to add my little bit of value to any community I find myself in and to the Hive ecosystem in general.
Without wasting much time, I would like to get into the contest and talk about some of my favorite series. The series I will talk about today are Blindspot, The Boys and Invincible
Blindspot
Blindspot is a series I knew nothing about and did not plan to watch. A friend of mine just dumped some of his files in my laptop back in 2020 and this series was one of them. With nothing much to do that year, I hopped on the series and I definitely did not regret it.
Blindspot premiered in 2015. The movie revolves around a woman who is found in a duffle bag in the middle of Times Square, New York with tattoos all over her body and her memories wiped. The woman's case is treated as a very special one when the discover the name of an FBI agent on her body. The FBI tries very hard to get a background on her but she seems to be a ghost and with her memory loss, she's really of no help. Without an identity, she is called Jane Doe and that was the name she went by throughout the series.
As time goes by and Jane experiences things, she begins to regain her memories. She discovers she knows some military training and martial arts. Also she is fluent in many different languages. Right from the first episode, the FBI find out that Jane's tattoos were crucial for solving many cases and mysteries. They realize how valuable she is and she quickly becomes and asset to the country and joins the FBI.
I absolutely loved Blindspot. I find it hard to binge watch series but this one was different. The mystery on its own is enough to captivate anyone and the actors play their part very well. I have to be honest and warn you that you might find season 1 boring if you're not patient enough but it gets better. In my opinion, season 2 is one of the best seasons of the series because Jane gets to meet her family and they are not what she expects. If you watch season 2 and think it's nice, just wait until you see season 4. You will just be blown away especially in the end.
Watching Blindspot, you might get annoyed when the story starts to revolve around Jane a little too much but still, the creators did a decent job trying to develop other characters. However, the main characters started to get annoying at some point especially with the fact that they always seemed to get to the scene just in time. From seasons 1 to 3, the main characters were just too lucky. None of them were killed off until the end of season 4. Speaking of season 4, the season ended in a great way that created a lot of anticipation for season 5. However, season 5 was kind of disappointment. Even in the end, if you look closely, you can see the bad switch between Jane and her stunt double after the final battle.
All in all, I loved Blindspot so much that I made Jane my wallpaper for a year. If you choose to ignore some flaws and just enjoy the story, I'm sure you'd like it. I really really recommend it.
The Boys
If I make a list of series I love, there is no way I will skip Amazon Studios' The Boys. I started this series right after Blindspot in 2020 even though it premiered in 2019. In about a day or two, I was able to finish the entire first season because it's just that good.
I would describe The Boys in three words (or is it four); a realistic superhero movie. That about sums it up. Unlike your average superhero movie, The Boys shows us how the world would really be if superheroes existed. Instead of having some bad guy that wants to destroy the world for no reason, we still have normal human issues at a much more drastic level. For starters, superheroes are used mostly as political tools by the ones who have real power in the society - the rich. These superheroes are employed, paid and provided with other benefits like endorsements. In return, these superheroes would do the bidding of their employers while falsely portraying the image of hope.
Something I really like about the movie is that people with powers are called "supes" because most of them are really not heroes. They are not righteous as one would expect as we see personal and societal issues play out. Some of these issues include greed, lust, arrogance, depression, physical and sexual harassment, racism, genocide, corruption and so on.
"The Boys", who are a group of normal people in the movie, know that, although the supes have a great public image, have dark secrets and agenda. These people, although flawed, are the real heroes in the series but the public does not know it. They face the supes with caution and a lot planning. With their brains and a little bit of luck, they always survive their confrontations. This unique plot makes the story so different and so good.
I really can't think of any downside to this series. It has a great storyline, the actors are perfect and the graphics are great. The series is just a true piece of art and professionalism in film making. The only possible downside is that it can get a little too graphic and so difficult for certain people to watch.
Before closing for this series, I have to mention that not all the supes are evil. There are a handful of them who have genuine intentions and do what they can to help "The Boys" in their quests.
The Boys has currently ran for only 2 seasons. Season 3 is expected to premier on the 3rd of June so if you have not seen it, try and catch up.
Invincible
Amazon Studios has a second space in my heart for it's famous animated series, Invincible. I got to know about this series when I saw someone watching it on his phone back in April of last year. Catching a glimpse of an awesome battle scene, it was not a matter of if but when I would watch the series. Two days later, I was done with the series.
Mark Grayson is by all accounts in the public eye, a normal teenage boy but secretly, he is half human and half alien. His father, a man like alien from a planet called Voltron, is the world's greatest hero, Omni-man. When Mark turns 17, his voltron powers are unlocked. He is trained by his dad and chooses the name Invincible for his superhero identity.
At first glance, the movie might look like a cheap DC comics adaptation but it is nothing like any DC movie I know of. The first episode starts lightly with so little violence and no gore but at the end of the episode, there is a great betrayal that just does not sit well with the audience. This betrayal cause a lot of bloodshed making the end of the episode way different from the beginning. The rest of the series follows the trajectory of violence, bloodshed and gore. It really isn't for everyone in my opinion.
One good thing about this series is its somewhat realistic approach. Mark Grayson, who is Invincible, is excited when he gets his powers but quickly realizes that the burden he has to carry would be too heavy. He tries to balance his normal life with his superhero life but it proves very difficult and it leads him down a bad emotional path. In the beginning, he believes he can save everyone but when he sees hundreds of people die, he blames himself and goes through a great deal of trauma. The name "Invincible" becomes ironic in the movie when Mark is beaten over and over again by enemies.
Invincible has an unusual storyline presenting a strange family dynamic among the Graysons. This makes it very unique in my opinion. One thing I believe should be improved on, though, is the animation.
Invincible premiered last year. There was some sort of legal battle that hindered the production of season 2 but currently, development has been announced. We might get a second season of this amazing series after a while.

Sin perder mucho tiempo, me gustaría entrar en el concurso y hablar de algunas de mis series favoritas. Las series de las que hablaré hoy son Blindspot, The Boys e Invencible.
Blindspot
Blindspot es una serie de la que no sabía nada y que no pensaba ver. Un amigo mío volcó algunos de sus archivos en mi portátil en 2020 y esta serie era uno de ellos. Sin mucho que hacer ese año, me subí a la serie y definitivamente no me arrepentí.
Blindspot se estrenó en 2015. La película gira en torno a una mujer que es encontrada en una bolsa de lona en medio de Times Square, Nueva York, con tatuajes por todo el cuerpo y sus recuerdos borrados. El caso de la mujer es tratado como algo muy especial cuando se descubre el nombre de un agente del FBI en su cuerpo. El FBI intenta por todos los medios conseguir un antecedente sobre ella pero parece ser un fantasma y con su pérdida de memoria, realmente no es de ayuda. Sin una identidad, se llama Jane Doe y ese fue el nombre que usó a lo largo de la serie.
A medida que pasa el tiempo y Jane experimenta cosas, empieza a recuperar sus recuerdos.Descubre que sabe algo de entrenamiento militar y artes marciales. Además, domina varios idiomas. Desde el primer episodio, el FBI descubre que los tatuajes de Jane fueron cruciales para resolver muchos casos y misterios. Se dan cuenta de lo valiosa que es y rápidamente se convierte en un activo para el país y se une al FBI.
Me ha encantado Blindspot. Me resulta difícil ver series por entregas, pero esta fue diferente. El misterio por sí solo es suficiente para cautivar a cualquiera y los actores interpretan muy bien su papel. Tengo que ser honesta y advertir que la primera temporada te puede resultar aburrida si no tienes la suficiente paciencia, pero mejora. En mi opinión, la temporada 2 es una de las mejores de la serie porque Jane llega a conocer a su familia y no son lo que ella espera. Si ves la temporada 2 y piensas que es bonita, espera a ver la temporada 4. Te quedarás boquiabierto, sobre todo al final.
Al ver Blindspot, es posible que te molestes cuando la historia empieza a girar demasiado en torno a Jane, pero aun así, los creadores hicieron un trabajo decente tratando de desarrollar otros personajes. Sin embargo, los personajes principales comenzaron a ser molestos en algún momento, especialmente con el hecho de que siempre parecían llegar a la escena justo a tiempo. De las temporadas 1 a 3, los personajes principales tuvieron demasiada suerte. Ninguno de ellos fue asesinado hasta el final de la cuarta temporada. Hablando de la temporada 4, la temporada terminó de una forma estupenda que creó mucha expectación para la temporada 5. Sin embargo, la temporada 5 fue una especie de decepción. Incluso en el final, si te fijas bien, puedes ver el mal cambio entre Jane y su doble después de la batalla final.
Con todo, me gustó tanto Blindspot que hice de Jane mi fondo de pantalla durante un año. Si decides ignorar algunos defectos y simplemente disfrutar de la historia, estoy segura de que te gustará. Lo recomiendo de verdad
The Boys
Si hago una lista de series que me encantan, no hay manera de que me salte The Boys de Amazon Studios. Empecé esta serie justo después de Blindspot en 2020 aunque se estrenó en 2019. En uno o dos días pude terminar toda la primera temporada porque es así de buena.
Describiría The Boys en tres palabras (o son cuatro); una película de superhéroes realista. Eso lo resume todo. A diferencia de la típica película de superhéroes, The Boys nos muestra cómo sería realmente el mundo si los superhéroes existieran. En lugar de tener un tipo malo que quiere destruir el mundo sin ninguna razón, seguimos teniendo problemas humanos normales a un nivel mucho más drástico. Para empezar, los superhéroes son utilizados principalmente como herramientas políticas por los que tienen el poder real en la sociedad: los ricos. Estos superhéroes son contratados, pagados y se les proporcionan otros beneficios como los avales. A cambio, estos superhéroes cumplen las órdenes de sus empleadores, mientras dan una falsa imagen de esperanza.
Algo que me gusta mucho de la película es que la gente con poderes se llama "supes" porque la mayoría de ellos no son realmente héroes. No son justos como cabría esperar, ya que vemos cómo se desarrollan los problemas personales y sociales. Algunos de estos problemas son la codicia, la lujuria, la arrogancia, la depresión, el acoso físico y sexual, el racismo, el genocidio, la corrupción, etc.
"Los chicos", que son un grupo de personas normales en la película, saben que, aunque los Supes tienen una gran imagen pública, tienen oscuros secretos y agenda. Estas personas, aunque con defectos, son los verdaderos héroes de la serie, pero el público no lo sabe. Se enfrentan a los supes con precaución y mucha planificación. Con su cerebro y un poco de suerte, siempre sobreviven a sus enfrentamientos. Esta trama única hace que la historia sea tan diferente y tan buena.
La verdad es que no se me ocurre ninguna pega para esta serie. Tiene un gran argumento, los actores son perfectos y los gráficos son geniales. La serie es una verdadera obra de arte y profesionalidad en la realización de películas. El único inconveniente posible es que puede resultar demasiado gráfica y difícil de ver para ciertas personas.
Antes de cerrar esta serie, tengo que mencionar que no todos los supes son malvados. Hay un puñado de ellos que tienen intenciones genuinas y hacen lo que pueden para ayudar a "The Boys" en sus búsquedas.
The Boys ha durado actualmente sólo 2 temporadas. Se espera que la tercera temporada se estrene el 3 de junio, así que si no la has visto, intenta ponerte al día.
Invincible
Amazon Studios tiene un segundo espacio en mi corazón para su famosa serie animada, Invincible. Me enteré de esta serie cuando vi a alguien viéndola en su teléfono en abril del año pasado. Al vislumbrar una escena de batalla impresionante, no era una cuestión de si vería la serie sino de cuándo. Dos días después, terminé con la serie.
Mark Grayson es, según todos los informes, un adolescente normal pero, en secreto, es mitad humano y mitad alienígena. Su padre, un hombre extraterrestre de un planeta llamado Voltron, es el mayor héroe del mundo, Omni-man. Cuando Mark cumple 17 años, sus poderes de Voltron se desbloquean. Es entrenado por su padre y elige el nombre de Invencible para su identidad de superhéroe.
A primera vista, la película puede parecer una adaptación barata de cómics de DC, pero no se parece en nada a ninguna película de DC que conozca. El primer episodio comienza ligeramente con muy poca violencia y sin sangre, pero al final del episodio, hay una gran traición que simplemente no le sienta bien a la audiencia. Esta traición causó mucho derramamiento de sangre, lo que hizo que el final del episodio fuera muy diferente al principio. El resto de la serie sigue la trayectoria de la violencia, el derramamiento de sangre y el gore. Realmente no es para todos en mi opinión.
Una cosa buena de esta serie es su enfoque algo realista. Mark Grayson, quien es Invencible, se emociona cuando obtiene sus poderes, pero rápidamente se da cuenta de que la carga que tiene que llevar sería demasiado pesada. Intenta equilibrar su vida normal con su vida de superhéroe, pero resulta muy difícil y lo lleva por un mal camino emocional. Al principio, cree que puede salvar a todos, pero cuando ve morir a cientos de personas, se culpa a sí mismo y sufre un gran trauma. El nombre "Invencible" se vuelve irónico en la película cuando los enemigos golpean a Mark una y otra vez.
Invincible tiene una historia inusual que presenta una extraña dinámica familiar entre los Grayson. Esto lo hace muy único en mi opinión. Sin embargo, una cosa que creo que debería mejorarse es la animación.
Invencible se estrenó el año pasado. Hubo algún tipo de batalla legal que obstaculizó la producción de la temporada 2, pero actualmente se ha anunciado el desarrollo. Es posible que obtengamos una segunda temporada de esta increíble serie después de un tiempo.
