Si algo puedo asegurar es que me encantan las películas de ciencia ficción, con mucho más entusiasmo aquellas que tienen una trama futurista. No suelo imaginar cómo será el futuro, y probablemente me perderé de muchas cosas cuando la humanidad llegue allí. Lo que sí me parece interesante, es hacia donde nos podríamos encaminar si no cambiamos algo en el momento más oportuno; el ahora. El cambio climático está haciendo estragos en todas partes del mundo y esta película retrata, con algo de exageración, en lo que se convertiría la tierra si no hacemos algo.
If there's one thing I can assure, is that I love science fiction movies, with even more excitement those with a futuristic plot. I don't usually imagine what the future will be like, and I will probably miss out on many things when humanity gets there. What I find interesting, is where we could be heading if we don't change something at the right moment; the now. Climate change is wreaking havoc all over the world and this movie portrays, with some exaggeration, what the earth would become if we don't do something.

2067 nos sorprende con los avances tecnológicos de esa época, con una ciudad que si bien ha evolucionado, también ha involucionado a niveles desastrosos, impactándonos de forma contundente debido a que el oxígeno es algo de lo que todos careceríamos. El oxígeno se ha convertido en algo tan vital como el agua, pero con un sentido mucho más drástico, pues el único que se puede obtener es el artificial, el cual es limitado pero también logra envenenar a las personas debido a un O2 sintético que produce una enfermedad mortal en expansión.
La trama tiene mucho sentido si lo logramos imaginar o ponernos por un momento en esos términos catastróficos. Un mundo que está encontrando la aniquilación sistemática de la humanidad, tal vez por el despropósito de cuidar el planeta y el medio ambiente. Es una de las razones válidas por lo que conocemos a Ethan Whyte, quien tiene proyecciones con su esposa, cuando descubre que está enfermando por completo. ¿Y si pudiera salvar a su esposa pero también la dirección hacia la que se dirige la humanidad?
2067 surprises us with the technological advances of that time, presenting a city that, while it has evolved, has also devolved to disastrous levels, impacting us significantly because oxygen is something we would all lack. Oxygen has become as vital as water, but with a much more drastic sense, as the only available form is synthetic, which is limited but also manages to poison people due to a synthetic O2 that causes a deadly and spreading disease.
The plot makes a lot of sense if we can imagine or put ourselves for a moment in those catastrophic terms. A world facing the systematic annihilation of humanity, perhaps due to the failure to take care of the planet and the environment. This is one of the reasons why we get to know Ethan Whyte, who envisions a future with his wife, only to discover that she is falling seriously ill. What if he could save his wife but also alter the course humanity is heading towards?

Los viajes en el tiempo también son un ingrediente que nos deja pensando sobre cómo es que podría influir nuestras acciones. De hecho, es algo que hizo pensar en si podría existir un "yo" múltiple en cada espacio-tiempo, como también pensar en si el tiempo sigue una línea recta constante de manera indefinida, y todo lo que vemos ya sucedió. Este es uno de los aspectos en el que nos introducimos cuando ven el potencial de Ethan en atravesar un camino de 400 años hacia el futuro, tal vez sin retorno aparente.
Las máquinas del tiempo nos hace plantear cómo es posible conectar el presente con algo que está más allá de nuestra percepción de la realidad. Lo más probable es que tu, como yo, piense en que solo pequeñas piezas de la materia, o incluso ondas de radio, se pueden llegar a transmitir. ¿Pero sería posible que un humano llegue al otro extremo? Cosas así son las que me descolocan y me hacen alucinar. Realmente me encanta.
Time travel is also an ingredient that leaves us thinking about how it could influence our actions. In fact, it is something that made me wonder if there could be a multiple "self" in each space-time, as well as pondering if time follows a constant straight line indefinitely, and everything we see has already happened. This is one of the aspects we delve into when we see the potential of Ethan to traverse a 400-year path into the future, perhaps with no apparent return.
Time machines make us consider how it is possible to connect the present with something beyond our perception of reality. Most likely, you, like me, think that only small pieces of matter, or even radio waves, can be transmitted. But would it be possible for a human to reach the other end? Such things unsettle me and make me hallucinate. I really love it.

La trama también se torna interesante cuando aparecen personajes que puedan llegar a ocultar sus intenciones. Sin entrar en spoilers, nos daremos cuenta del por qué Ethan lleva consigo una muñequera que le ha sido puesta a corta edad, a la fuerza y de forma violenta.
Todo tiene un sentido cuando conocemos a Richard Whyte, su padre. Todo el diseño de la tecnología se basa en el desarrollo propio de sus ideas, con un objetivo claro, aunque en parte cruel. Por mi parte pensé que se trataba de un científico visionario, totalmente loco, pero que luego de ver parte de la película, las cosas cobran sentido. Ethan hijo, tiene una cosa muy importante que hacer, pero conlleva una responsabilidad tal que podría ser en una forma, el fin para él y para todos.
Eso sí, el viaje hacia el futuro es determinante. Y Ethan se plantea la posibilidad de que haya fallado en su misión para arreglar las cosas. Por suerte, o tal vez no, es acompañado por alguien que le es muy especial, porque lo ha salvado en una situación compleja, porque si no fuese así, estaría muerto. Luego descubrirá que sí tuvo su propia muerte, pero no en la forma en que lo imaginaba, sino en torno a un engaño y ocultamiento, el cual podría de alguna forma volver a repetir por los cambios en el tiempo y la multiplicidad de su propio yo. Esto supone que los lazos afectivos podrían haberse desvinculado por la locura, y es algo que está muy presente en muchas oportunidades, haciendo que la película tenga un buen añadido de tensión y suspenso.
The plot also becomes interesting when characters appear who may be able to hide their intentions. Without getting into spoilers, we will realize why Ethan carries a wristband that was placed on him at a young age, forcibly and violently.
Everything makes sense when we meet Richard Whyte, his father. The whole design of the technology is based on the development of his own ideas, with a clear goal, albeit partly cruel. Initially, I thought of him as a visionary scientist, completely mad, but after seeing part of the movie, things make sense. Ethan, the son, has a very important task to fulfill, but it carries such a responsibility that it could be, in a way, the end for him and for everyone.
The journey towards the future is crucial. And Ethan contemplates the possibility that he may have failed in his mission to set things right. Fortunately, or perhaps not, he is accompanied by someone very special to him, because they saved him in a complex situation, because if it weren't for them, he would be dead. Later, he will discover that he did experience his own death, but not in the way he imagined, but rather around deception and concealment, which could somehow be repeated due to changes in time and the multiplicity of his own self. This implies that emotional ties could have become detached due to madness, and this is something that is very present on many occasions, adding tension and suspense to the movie.

La trama pone en juego varias posibilidades. Como por ejemplo encontrar en el futuro un lugar en el que vivir, regresar con alguna solución para que el presente pueda ser reparado, o también quedar atrapado en un extremo pero enviando muestras que puedan cambiar ese faltante que tanto necesitan.
En definitiva, la película nos hace razonar sobre las acciones que hacemos a diario en la manera en que cuidamos nuestro planeta. También puntualiza en lo que nos representa lo vital para sobrevivir en paz y armonía, lo cual luego de ver esta asombrosa película, nos crea cierta conciencia. Por mi parte me encantó. Si bien no está al nivel de Interestellar, es una película que te recomendaría ver al menos una vez. Además no dura mucho.
The plot involves several possibilities. Such as finding a place to live in the future, coming back with some solution so that the present can be fixed, or getting stuck at one end but sending samples that can change that missing piece they so desperately need.
Ultimately, the movie makes us think about the actions we take daily in the way we take care of our planet. It also emphasizes what is vital for us to survive in peace and harmony, which, after watching this amazing movie, creates a certain awareness in us. I loved it. While it may not be on par with Interstellar, it's a movie I would recommend you to watch at least once. Also, it doesn't last long.
