Today I want to give you my impressions of the novel Caf茅 con aroma de mujer that was recently released on the Netflix platform. I confess that I am not very novelera (I do not know if that word exists 馃槄), but this novel I got to see it once but in the Mexican version and it was called "Destilando amor", I say once, because it has had three versions so far.
The first one was released in 1994 in Colombia and was very well received, in 2001 came out the Mexican version with the name "Cuando seas mia" and in 2008 another Mexican version called "Destilando amor" in which the main protagonist was Tequila, I think so far it had been the best version.
I'll tell you a little about this telenovela, it focuses on Teresa Suarez, better known as "La Gaviota" (starring Laura Londo帽o), a humble and simple woman who goes to Hacienda Casablanca every year to collect the coffee harvested during the second season of the year with her mother Carmenza (starring Katherine Velez), There she meets Sebastian Vallejo (starring Wuilliam Levi) son of the owner of the hacienda a man who steals her heart and with whom she begins a love story where drama, romance and emotion are at the surface.
When I saw that Netflix was releasing a new version it made me a little curious, since the plot of this novel is quite long and I was excited to know what it had new to offer, besides the protagonist 馃槏 Wuilliam Levi of course 馃槀.
The first thing that caused me a bit of laziness was how long the novel was, almost 90 chapters of 45 minutes each, as I told you the original plot of this novel is quite long and usually for being Netflix I prefer shorter dramas, so right off the bat it was a bit hard for me to watch it.
The first thing that caught me of this plot was the theme of coffee as the protagonist, this new version seeks the viewer to know and appreciate the culture of coffee, the harvests and the work that is carried out to achieve one of the best coffees recognized worldwide as the Colombian.
The second thing that I loved about this new version were the locations such as Hacienda Casablanca as it is called in the soap opera, I confess that I was enraptured with the beauty of this place, you could transmit through the screen the good vibes of the place, as well as the beautiful way of showing the culture of coffee growing and the farms around it. Researching I found out that the filming took place in Manizales, a city that is part of the mountainous coffee region in the west of Colombia.
In addition to the locations and the coffee culture, I liked that this new version is quite inclusive, such is the case of the gay couple composed by Bernardo, brother of the protagonist and Carlos, this character must face the rejection of his family, mainly his mother, due to his sexual orientation.
Similarly, issues such as racism, which suffers the African-American boyfriend of Marcela, the protagonist's sister, can be seen in the rejection of his partner for being of color and low income, as well as the weight of his girlfriend.
The theme of social networks and how their management can affect people's lives is reflected in the character of Paula, also the protagonist's sister, who is scammed by a man she met through an online dating platform.
I also really liked how they showed the empowerment of women through the actresses who managed to create a cooperative to produce coffee, as well as the work of collecting coffee done by these women fighters.
Finally, I must say that I love the relationship between the protagonist and her mother, two enterprising women fighters who support each other to move forward and fulfill their dreams.

Hoy quiero darle mis impresiones de la novela Caf茅 con aroma de mujer que estren贸 la plataforma de Netflix hace poco. Les confieso que no soy muy novelera (no se si esa palabra exista 馃槄), pero esta novela la llegu茅 a ver en una oportunidad pero en la versi贸n mexicana y se llamaba "Destilando amor", digo en una oportunidad, ya que la misma ha tenido tres versiones hasta ahora.
La primera se estren贸 en el a帽o 1994 de Colombia y tuvo muy buena acogida, en el a帽o 2001 sale la versi贸n mexicada con el nombre "Cuando seas mia" y en el 2008 otra versi贸n mexicana llamada "Destilando amor" en la cual el principal protagonista era el Tequila, creo que hasta ahora hab铆a sido la mejor versi贸n.
Les cuento un poco de que trata esta telenovela, se centra en Teresa Su谩rez, mejor conocida como "La Gaviota" (protagonizada por Laura Londo帽o), una mujer humilde y sencilla que acude a la Hacienda Casablanca cada a帽o para recolectar el caf茅 cosechado durante la segunda 茅poca del a帽o junto a su madre Carmenza (protagonizada por Katherine V茅lez), all铆 conoce a Sebastian Vallejo (protagonizado por Wuilliam Levi) hijo del due帽o de la hacienda un hombre que le roba el coraz贸n y con quien comienza una historia de amor donde el drama, el romance y la emoci贸n est谩n a flor de piel.
Cuando v铆 que Netflix estrenaba una nueva versi贸n me di贸 un poco de curiosidad, ya que la trama de esta novela es bastante larga y me emocion贸 saber que ten铆a de nuevo para ofrecer, adem谩s del protagonista 馃槏 Wuilliam Levi claro est谩 馃槀.
Lo primero que me caus贸 un poco de pereza era lo largo de la novela, casi 90 cap铆tulos de 45 minutos cada uno, como les dije la trama original de esta novela es bastante larga y por lo general por ser Netflix prefiero los dramas mas cortos, as铆 que de entrada me cost贸 un poco verla.
Lo primero que me atrap贸 de esta trama fue el tema del caf茅 como protagonista, esta nueva versi贸n busca que el espectador conozca y aprecie la cultura del caf茅, las cosechas y el trabajo que se lleva a cabo para lograr uno de los mejores cafes reconocidos a nivel mundial como lo es el colombiano.
Lo segundo que me encant贸 de esta nueva versi贸n fueron las locaciones como la Hacienda Casablanca como se llama en la telenovela, confieso que qued茅 embelesada con la belleza de este lugar, se pod铆a transmitir a traves de la pantalla la buena vibra del lugar, as铆 como la manera tan bonita de mostrar la cultura de la siembra del caf茅 y las fincas a su alrededor. Investigando me enter茅 que las filmaciones se llevaron a cabo en Manizales, una ciudad que forma parte de la regi贸n cafetera monta帽osa al oeste de Colombia.
Adem谩s de las locaciones y la cultura del caf茅, me gust贸 que esta nueva versi贸n es bastante incluyente, tal es el caso de la pareja gay compuesta por Bernardo, hermano del protagonista y Carlos, este personaje debe enfrentar el rechazo de su familia principalmente de su madre debido a su orientaci贸n sexual.
De igual manera se abordan temas como el racismo, el cual sufre el novio afroamericano de Marcela, hermana del protagonista, se puede ver el rechazo a su pareja por ser de color y de bajos recursos, as铆 como tambien el peso de la novia de 茅ste.
El tema de las redes sociales y como el manejo de estas puede afectar la vida de las personas se ve reflejado en el personaje de Paula, tambien hermana del protagonista, la cual es estafada por un hombre que conoci贸 a trav茅s de una plataforma de citas por internet.
Tambien me gust贸 mucho como mostraron el empoderamiento de la mujer a traves de las actrices que lograron crear una cooperativa para producir caf茅, as铆 como el trabajo de recolecci贸n del caf茅 realizada por estas mujeres luchadoras.
Finalmente debo decir que me encanta la relaci贸n de la protagonista con su madre, dos mujeres luchadoras emprendedoras y que se apoyan mutuamente para salir adelante y cumplir sus sue帽os.
