For a few good weeks now, I was sneaking on my Hive account on hiveblocks to see if my reputation score really reached 78 because on Leofinance it was showing that for quite a while, and on Peakd interface for example was swinging from 77 to 78, and back lately...
Now it's official, I have just reached a full 78 as a reputation score on Hive... I had never imagined I would reach that high. Back in February 2018 when I started my journey with Hive at 25 points for such a score, I was looking at other users who were into Hive way longer than I and some of them were having scores like 60, 70, and above.
Back in the day, one could have bought such "reputation numbers" due to the existence of bid bots who were trading upvotes for liquid STEEM or SBD but now it's a different story. Most of these accounts are now unpaid curation accounts and the only way to climb the stairs of reputation on Hive is through consistency and "curators love".
Although I don't really care that much about this score which is just a landmark of the number and weight of the upvotes one account has amassed so far, it's not meaningless either.
Yesterday 
The marrow of such a statement was that even if he could have kept the HIVE without sending back the settled amount of CUB part of that deal, although I doubt he would do that, he did not do it. Again, I don't see him as doing something like that but even in the situation of being able to do so it was not worth it cuz of the colossal Hive reputation he owns that he would have traded for a few thousand HIVE tokens.
Reputation is much more than just a number imo. Reputation means trust... and although I dedicate this post to the celebration of a reputation score I just reached recently I'm actually sending you all via this post right here a HUGE THANK YOU for dumping your upvotes on my content. You can't imagine how life-changing Hive has been to me for the past few years.
I have detailed more in this post on how Hive has impacted me in the past few years. It is still a quite young project and being part of it since its early days makes me thrilled for the future. Now, I don't know how long it will take me to reach 79 points in reputation, although I've spent close to half a year hustling for that point climbing from 77 to 78 but I'm excited about the journey.
