Crypto Twitter is no stranger to Bitcoin maximalism, and while it's enjoyable to discuss the potential of cryptocurrencies and how they can change the world, the truth is that very few people actually use crypto on a daily basis. Furthermore, only a small percentage of those involved in crypto are aware of Hive.
As a content creator and influencer, I strongly believe that Hive should be the go-to platform for sharing crypto-related content, but that's a topic for another chapter. For now, let's focus on crypto as a form of money.
Apart from using crypto in our daily lives, I would wager that most so-called crypto influencers wouldn't accept crypto as payment for their services or products if they had an actual business. Therefore, the pressing question for today's #askleo post is:
If You Were a Business Owner, Would You Accept Crypto as Payment for Your Products?
My short answer is probably no surprise to those who know me well: absolutely. As someone deeply involved in the crypto world and a firm believer in its potential, I would gladly accept crypto as payment if I had a real-life business.
There are several reasons behind this decision. Firstly, crypto represents the ultimate form of "fuck you" money, especially privacy coins that centralized exchanges are currently delisting left and right. As an individual who questions authority and the system, I would do almost anything to circumvent it. However, my motivation for accepting crypto doesn't solely rely on this aspect.
Another reason is the potential for reaching a wider range of clients. People like myself would be more inclined to choose my products or services simply because I offer the option to pay with crypto. This, in turn, would likely attract new clients on top of the traditional ones.
Moreover, I view Bitcoin and other promising projects as integral parts of the digital future that lies ahead. Accepting these currencies in their early stages and holding onto them for the future would be a decision I'm comfortable with.
I understand that cryptocurrencies are volatile, but what isn't these days? Even the prices of gasoline and diesel fluctuate from one day to another. Therefore, we can say that we're living in an uncertain world for the past few years.
These are just a few reasons why I would accept crypto as payment if I were a business owner. Now, I'm curious to hear your thoughts. If you currently have or had a business, would you be open to accepting crypto as payment?
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
