As the Leofinance community grows, the amount of content produced through the interface and poured on the blockchain is also exponentially growing. Ever since I joined the chain, about three years ago, there's always been debates about what defines the good quality of a post and back in the days length was a definitory metric for that.
I'd say we've long overcome such mindset and the launch of Project Blank by Leofinance will be a game changer for this matter as well. What defines a good quality post though? Well...
For my taste, a good quality post should definitely be well written. I'm not a native English speaker and my posts aren't the most elaborated ones, but I try my best to make them look good and be digestible, and appreciate that a lot on the ones I read on the daily basis.
A clear message and well chosen image makes 90% of the post's quality I'd say. You can write thousands of words saying basically nothing and you can cover a highly important event with three phrases and a great image that underlines the messages of the post. That's why we have twitter and also the reason why Project Blank will be a game changer.
Length doesn't matter, I'll say that again and if you look at some of the best posts around here, and even the best paid ones, they're actually not long and time consuming thesis, but rather insightful sketches of a topic, ingeniously created to paint the picture in its wholeness. is the ultimate example of a great shitposter imo...
Relevance is what I appreciate a lot on a post, and I hate it when people come with long time consumed news, or simply rewrite them. Luckily we don't have many in here. Being a crypto and finance oriented community I'd say the relevance to post that piece of content in this community weighs a lot on its quality.
Timing is also a quality definitory metric imo. I don't know who shilled RUNE around here, but that guy had probably the best timing to do so, because RUNE is been talked for quite a while in here and it's valued at over $4 already. Same with relevant news in the crypto space, you have to be there when they occur and cover them. Same with rants...
I love opinionated posts and that's basically what I'm doing for years now. People that share their true feelings and views, no matter how good their English is or how colored their writing is, are always my favorite. I hate dull report type of posts. There's always different angles to look at a project, event or personality and am always curious to dig through as many as possible. I love when people talk subjects and share their personal views, because that's how we learn.
Now, one of the factors that should also make a post a good quality one, and in this regard I hope one day to see a trending page based on this definitory factor, is engagement. No matter the amount of upvotes, length, or how much time dedicated to write the post, if none or just a few comments in the comment sections of that post, then that's not quality to me. Often times I saw low payout posts that got tons of interaction and dull repetitive ones with great rewards.
Engagement is key for many success stories around here. That comes from someone who overlooked it for quite some time.
Originality. I used to have a Romanian teacher that would grant us an extra point for staying original and not sneaking on others paperwork during exams and I'd say originality is a must for any quality post. Copies never replaced originals, so why try copy anyone else...
Anyway, these are a few definitory aspects of what I consider to be quality posts on Leofinance and Hive, and will appreciate if you would share your take on this topic as well. I plan on creating more engagement through my #askleo initiative on Leofinance and would appreciate your contribution. Have a great day/night and see you next week.
