The newborn or the sick of the pride are always targeted by predators and often times these two categories fall victim to these predators. It's the law of surviving that always prevails, the strongest get to eat first.
Two "public crypto projects" have been attacked over the past couple of days, one of them being STEPN, the move-to-earn app that's also called the WEB3 lifestyle app.
“We have been under multiple DDOS attacks in the past hours. Securing the servers and recovery may take anywhere from 1 to 12 hours.”
“We recommend you take some rest during the maintenance or otherwise the work-outs may not be recorded properly. Our engineers are working hard to fix the problems.”

GST, the user rewarding token for STEPN has taken a dive in the past 24 hours, falling from as high as $0.64 to $0.59, but it has now not only recovered from the dip but also on a wave higher than it was before they put a halt on the app.
STPN uses Solana NFTs in the form of some very expensive virtual sneakers that make it possible for anyone to earn GST for counting steps with the app.
One of my favorite crypto projects, Elrond, has been put under attack lately as well. Its decentralized exchange was close to an exploit that was luckily exposed by the Elron team and it's under a fix now. According to Beniamin Mincu, the CEO of Elrond, the issue has been isolated, its fix is being deployed and the DEX should be up and running soon.
"Regardless of what obstacles attempt to hinder humanity’s progress, it will continue to be made within unexplored territory.
Curiosity is a strength unrivaled by any other. It unearths ancient secrets and fuels the innovation that propels humanity into the future."
The tweet is of Dogelon Mars which sums up the best, the narrative that's been wrapped around this post. Blockchain technology is still in its quite early stages. Attacks shall occur, and forks will be taken as extreme measures, when needed, same as we did with Hive...
But the wheels keep spinning and the strong shall prevail. Hyenas can only win a fight over the weak and unprepared, but the strong ones won't fall victim to their teeth. Hive so far has proved to be highly resilient and pretty well designed. It is still imo highly undervalued.
Thanks for your attention,
