My first mobile phone came in the form of a Nokia 3310, in the year 2002 if I'm not mistaking, a second hand one that I bought, actually my father did, for about $40... Yes, those were times when mobile phones were far from selling at one grand a piece, and mine was already a few years old when it reached my pocket. Good times though, with lots of real interaction and a quite better social life in my opinion.
I wasn't texting too much at that time because during those times texting was a paid option and not a given. There was no mobile internet, and you could hardly afford to talk to the often for a few bucks a month, but it had to start somewhere and in my case it was a monochrome 3310 screen that saw my first text message on it.
Now, taking into account whatsapp, facebook messenger and telegram, there are probably tens of billions of texts being sent on a daily basis around the world, people becoming more social, but mostly from behind a smartphone screen. I text myself as well, but not too much... For traditional texting I am using telegram, as I have quit facebook and whatsapp long time ago, but I have another way of texting, one that is more rewarding both psychologically and financially.
I text on leofinance if you can even imagine that. Quite often I find myself browsing and being active on leo from my smartphone and most of my comments, even the long and full of grammar mistakes ones, are made trough a 5" smartphone screen. I don't post often on leo by using my smartphone, but I do a lot of interacting through it and it feels a lot like texting. Not just for the sake of using a phone, but from a conversation stand point, as I often get replies to my comments and I reply to them as well.
I also get paid to do that. Wait, what? Kidding, no one is paying me to do anything at the moment. I do get rewards on my comments quite often, and probably you do that too, and since engaging feels like texting to me, then getting comments rewards feels a hell lot like getting paid to text. Ohhh, if all the billions of master texters out there would knew about that...
They will probably find out at some point, as the tokenization process will expand to many areas of our life, but it will be when everyone will do that, and not in its early stages, as we do it for the moment. If you're around leo for a while then you should probably have heard about the initiative 10 of which is aimed at encouraging curators to upvote comments, and content creators and active leo users to engage more, making the platform feel alive, generating traffic, connecting alike bloggers and readers, and also spreading the curating mana that we all have on other than posts around here.
I know I just click baited you with this post, but to me, it feels a lot like I'm getting paid to text on a daily basis when being active on leo from my phone. I read and comment on posts after breakfast, I do that while in a coffee shop, while laying on the couch with no defined purpose for the day, and even before bed time... Pretty much like most of the folks around the world are texting these days, just that I'm paid for that. I'm a master texter that's currently collecting pennies through this type of texting, about 20 LEOs collected a day ago, and aiming higher than that of course. I even had three comments a few days ago that were upvoted by with 40 LEOs. Match that on whatsapp. Tokenization will ultimately conquer many of our daily activities in my opinion, but why not hit it in its early stages.
Read, write, engage and get paid for that. What a better slogan for the initiative 10, isn't it ?
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
