Coinbase At It Again
NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR GALA
Here we have another case of "not your keys, not your crypto". Coinbase, the giant centralised exchange, has decided not to participate in the airdropping of Gala V2 to the people currently holding Gala on their exchange. It's not the first time Coinbase is doing something like this. During the collapse of Terra Luna, they refused to drop the Luna 2 coin to people holding Luna on their platform. They simply changed the Luna token to "Luna Classic" to match the change, and delisted the tokens.
The solution to this, as usual, is to custody Gala yourself by moving it an ERC-20 compatible wallet like Metamask, Trust Wallet or, ironically enough, Coinbase Wallet - which is a hot wallet that isn't controlled by Coinbase.
Peace & Love,
