gm y'all
Last night I went to a party in an Ethereum-based virtual blockchain world (VBW) called Voxels. The party was put together by crew made up of one of our very own Hivers named , as well as Emanate and Juicebox Lounge and learning center.
For those who've never heard of Voxels, the visuals are similar to MineCraft and it's web-based, so you don't need to download any software, only connect an EVM-compatible wallet like MetaMask. It's quite user-friendly in my opinion.
The party itself was hosted inside a giant boombox; lol.
Here's some footage:

And the music was fire 🔥🔥🔥
Not to mention the performances on the main screen. I had a great time and I'm sure everybody who went did too.
At the end of the party, the MC came up on the screen, said thank you for coming and shared his screen, where NFTs had been on sale all night.
He showed everybody how much had been collected from NFT sales, and immediately distributed the funds equally among the performing artists
How awesome is that?
Answer: super awesome!
I was so pumped up after the party not because VBW parties will replace real world parties. There's just way too much stuff that goes on in real life that can't (yet) be replaced virtually, from the smell of the venue, to getting something to drink at the bar, interacting with other people...
I was pumped because I didn't feel like drinking or getting dressed to go out, but I could still be at a party from the comfort of my bed in my pajamas and say hi to my friends.
Not only that, my very small contribution to the artists was pooled together with everybody else's and ended up adding up to a nice amount for the performers!
I got value out of the party and they got value from those who attended.
win-win
"value for value"
I'm so incredibly stoked about what this means for creators of all different kinds: musicians, writers, painters, educators, businesspeople, therapists, coaches, programmers...
Everybody can create something of value and receive value in return and the opportunities to do so are limitless.
I hope you are creating something at this moment, and if you're not, try something, anything! If it doesn't work, try something else. I guarantee if you try enough times, you WILL find something that creates value for people or maybe a protocol, for which you will get value in return. And this is the magic of this brave new world we're living in today called web 3.0
Don't let the opportunity go by.
