Hello, Crypto-friends!
Today marks a fresh start in the week on this Monday, April 7, 2025.
In this post, I want to discuss the astonishing downturn of the Hong Kong Stock Market.
As I reflect on my own investment journey, I feel fortunate to have exited the HK Market a few months ago. While my remaining capital wasn't substantial, I made the decision to shift my focus entirely to cryptocurrencies. Most of my investments are now in HIVE. Yes, it's true that HIVE is also experiencing a decline, but at least I’m earning a steady APR on my Power, and my rewards are gradually increasing. Currently, HIVE is hovering around the 20-cent mark.
Could we see it dip down to 16 cents again? It was last in that territory back in November 2024.
Now, turning our attention back to traditional markets, the American Market (S&P 500=SPY) had a grim day on Friday, plummeting nearly 6%. What will unfold this Monday? Asian markets are kicking off the week with a significant gap down, while SPY finishing Friday at 506.28.
And they say cryptocurrencies are volatile?
Despite the chaos, I’ve done my best to hold onto my modest crypto investments rather than retreating back to the HK Market. Although my two or three projects are in the red, I still receive rewards through staking.
The fundamentals point to the ongoing USA-China Trade War as a significant factor contributing to this market decline. What we can see in the charts it looks this is just the beginning!
In the meantime, let’s remain calm and do our best to preserve our cryptocurrencies. I may not be in the best financial shape at the moment, but I am hopeful that I can weather these seemingly turbulent times.
