Financial Goals 2021

When I found this post by Hive account@thecallmedan last week encouraging Hivers to share their Financial Goals for 2021, I immediately thought, "Dang! I just posted mine!". Well, these were my Hive goals for the year, but I might as well write down my overall financial goals which so far are just drawn inside my head.

For the past years, we have been trying to repair our finances - you know, some not-so-well-thought-of decisions that have snowballed and eventually knocked us off our footing. We're slowly coming out of that and this year will be a turning point for our debt-free objective.

Which is going to be your investment strategy for 2021?

• Emergency Fund

This is the year that I'd like to rebuild our emergency fund. Stash it away in a bank account that we basically cannot spend easily when times get tough. I have a PHP savings account that yields a higher interest rate than my other bank, so I'd keep a portion of my monthly remittance (we live overseas) in this account.

• Crypto Assets

I guess this also answers the second and third questions - any specific assets that you want to invest in, and preferred assets -- I'd like to increase my crypto bags this year. The current bull run is not the time that I can say, is life-changing for me, but it is inspiring enough to believe in this asset class and finally invest a portion of our money here.

• Stocks

Over the past months, I have been trying to learn the ropes of stocks investing and trading. There's still a lot to learn in terms of trading, technical analysis, and all those stuff, but starting to accumulate some units won't be bad for a start.

Do you have a plan or a set of goals on how to use and grow your stake?

As for Hive, I mentioned above that I have laid out my 2021 Hive goals in my January Hive Power Up Day post. To summarize, this year I want to achieve:

• 10,000 Hive Power. I am currently sitting at ~4,500HP (roughly 500 HP monthly target)
• 5,000 Leo Power target - an ambitious one, but realistically 3,000LP
• Accumulate more HE Tokens

Investing in Myself

Finally, I would like to devote more time to upskill, even learn new skills to better equip myself should I decide (or not) to go back to the corporate world. While going back to the corporate world may not be a priority at this point with the virus still posing a threat (lots of things to consider if ever I would go back to work), it is never a waste of time to learn something new.

Before I forget... "Price Predictions"!

I love Hive. It's sad that when most alts are seen taking off this bull season, Hive just doesn't seem to budge a notch. I'd love to see it go to $5 or even $10, but I'd be happy if it reaches $1.

As for LEO, this amazing LEO, just keeps roaring. It's now almost $0.50, who knows how much more it'd go? $5 is not far from possible, I think. $10? Why not?

But yeah, I'm not the expert here. Don't mind me. 🚀
