Could you lose access to your Hive account by using Playstore Apps?
This morning i was prompted when opening #Ecency app to update to v 3.0.6
The the update button leads to goggle #playstore
i don't wish to (and nor do i) use goggle because
a) google are centralised, censoring, and have many nefarious business practices. They are therefore supporting, and indeed part of (in my opinion) the #massmurdermachine of #thepowersthatshouldntbe. Therefore, again in my opinion, if we use Google (and most other corporate centralised platforms), we feed them with our attention and energy, thus also supporting their violence. i realise (real eyes) this is an extreme point of view, yet it has validity. Also i do not claim to be perfect, still having an old googlemail account and still using twatter for example, for now.
and
b) All apps published/updated in playstore since some time last year are #backdoored, according to this:
Every PlayStore app needs to be signed by a private key to get listed. I don't know their current policy but I believe at one point they were talking about or may have started requiring developers to submit their private keys to them. That would allow them to modify apps and sign them as the developer. They may have also changed their signing process, requiring a private key that's generated by Google, which is basically a backdoor for code signing. I haven't submitted any apps to the PlayStore in a decade though so don't know what they currently require.
yes, Google now requires devs to give them the private signing keys to them (as of this past summer I believe), which means Google can modify apps against the will of app developers and without their knowledge. The old SDA app (which requires pairing to a desktop wallet) never did this and that is why we won't be updating that app on the Play Store or submitting any more apps. All Google Play apps should be considered backdoored by Google
The update button on leads to #playstore, so i go to github https://github.com/ecency/ecency-mobile/releases but latest version there is 3.0.36
My questions to (and any other app Devs whose apps are in playstore, such as #hivekeychain) are therefore
When will new version be updated on #github (which is Microsoft owned and also vulnerable btw.) ?
Does the github apk version have the same private signing keys as the playstore version therefore also being vulnerable to googles evil ways?
If the above is true and google did "modify apps against the will of app developers and without their knowledge", would they be able to change keys to individual accounts so access to all funds on #Hive and #hiveengine and to posting/editing would no longer be possible?
