Right after talking a little about businesses in the metaverse, it has fast proven to me that my viewpoint is actually narrow as to what would mostly dominate this space. A decentralised social Experience? Never been to one, probably will this year, however, a few hours ago I read a report that Samsung has had more than 4 million visits in less than a month of unveiling it's metaverse world "my house"
This I'd say was expected, not much of a surprise tho, but with more of these companies hitting the public, the inflows will be unmeasurable. The thing about NFTs and the virtual universe is that it's mostly captivating. When you look at the gaming industry, the reason we have more gamers indulge in digital games rather than real world physical games is because the digital experience cannot really be compared. There's a touch of magic that makes one feel totally new, kinda like the feeling one has when watching a movie, the social feeling of not being restricted to your human form.
Now, this idea wrapped up on a decentralised network is practically unstoppable. The ability to create, own and manage, now that's like giving people the power they didn't have in the real world and a ton of humans will appreciate that! The solutions built around these networks are just human satisfying, so the unmeasurable FOMO will be understood.
A virtual wedding took place on a virtual universe on the 5th of February, it took place in decentraland with a 2,000 virtual guest, complete witness and Supreme Court Justice officiant Clint Bolick.
The bride and groom, Ryan and Candice Hurley hired Rose Law Group to legally formalize the marriage. The group’s Founder and President Jordan Rose claims it was the first-ever wedding hosted on any blockchain-based Metaverse.
The wedding ceremony was held on Rose Law Group’s estate on Decentraland. The law group developed a “meta-marriage framework,” by incorporating a “Virtual Premarital Agreement,” which identified the couple’s virtual identities and digital assets as recorded on the blockchain.
Meanwhile, a “Meta-Marriage License” identified, recorded, and tokenized the couple’s virtual identities and place of marriage on the blockchain as an NFT
The Unspoken Merits Of The Metaverse…
When looking at it from a security level, the metaverse counters some major problems. Physical presence is an exposure, so as such, I figured most occasion will further be hosted in a metaverse. This allows for individuals to attend programs without risking being physically there. Looking at big companies or industries hosting programs and all of that, the cost of setting up a well secured environment, the cost of paying security agents, the cost of implementing proper SCs for documentary purposes is all wiped out.
This brings an added value to the limitless possibilities of a metaverse. From a wedding perspective, a metaverse creates room for one to have the wildest type of wedding as it pleases, this was explained by Jordan Rose, The group’s Founder and President…
So although the network suffered an inability to handle the traffic and they quickly ran out of NFT gifts for the attendants 20 minutes into the event, it is still something that points us in the direction that things are moving… With more developments phasing in, we're looking at a world where most social events are hosted on the blockchain and the experience would be totally different…
