We all know that the Hive blockchain doesn't have a CEO and it doesn't have centralized funds dedicated for marketing and other such activities that a commercial business would make use. This has its downsides, but in the same time has some advantage as the growth and expansion of the blockchain is ensure through users and community initiatives, thus is pure organically. But as we continue to build infrastructure and have successful projects launched within this ecosystem, sometimes we capture the attention of bigger publications and spread the word out about this blockchain.
While I was doing my daily routine and reading some tech news on Techcrunch about new web3 platforms, an article captured my attention entitled - Bluesky’s best shot at success is to embrace shitposting. And right at the beginning there is a statement about competitors in the social media space which has also mentioned the Hive blockchain platform.
I have joined so many social media websites since October 27, 2022, the fateful day in which Elon Musk tanked his net worth and volunteered for the worst job in the world. There’s Mastodon, T2, Spoutible, Hive, Post, Cohost and so many more, but no Twitter alternative has felt as promising as Bluesky. That is, in part, because of how much shitposting is going on there.

We can see from here that big publications already mention Hive in the social media space, even if they don't full focus on it. But any such quote will bring awareness about this great web3 ecosystem and act as a free marketing tool. And while I think we are specialized on long form content, we've seen also a real contender for microblogging with a Crypto Twitter flavor in the form of LeoFinance. And what's great about it is that it puts together Threads (microblogging) and Posts (blogging) on the same platform, making it a one stop shop for any avid social media consumer.
I think that the true power of the Hive blockchain is represented by its users and communities which understand that if all do good, than each of us do good as well. And we see many initiatives all over the space from spreading the word out either through physicals interactions or through blogging about it, getting in touch with other sites and publications and other different means to bring awareness. While we move slowly to the light and get more eyes upon us, I like that we are doing that organically which should ensure that the impact of that will be long lasting.
