It's the yuletide ladies and gentlemen, and it is the season of giving. I love it, you love it, but you know who loves it more? Big corporations that fleece us of our money during this period marked by rampage style buying.
Whether it is your kids, wife or yourself, somebody is probably on your ass about buying gifts and stuff. I Unless you're Jehova's witness or a Muslim, you're not immune to it and it comes for us all.
Santa Claus is coming to town and he's bringing gifts. Right before sneaking in through the chimney, he'll stop by at the closest shopping mall with your credit card to make some thoughtful purchases of items that you think you need.
To be totally honest, I love Christmas and while I absolutely hate spending money, I can live with it. There's something special about the atmosphere this period, and whatever it is that makes people a lot more cheery than usual.
I like cheery, and so do the big corporations that sell the gifts, clothes and other stuff we get for ourselves in the name of the season. What I don't like is how these big corporations take advantage of the season and peddle their crap at "discounted" rates to fleece unsuspecting customers.
At the end of the day, it is just business, even though I think it is underhanded and is just one of those things that never go out of fashion. Oh well, Merry Christmas
