Fundamental Changes To The Internet
Commonly referred to now as web3 it's a mix match of many ideas and peoples thoughts of what the next evolution will be for the internet. I was a lucky one to have experienced the days and childhood of no internet to now it being part of my every day life. From searching for info, jobs, running a business, trading stocks, crypto, writing blog posts and making a full time living from it the internet has come a long way in just my lifetime and it's about to change even more!
Web 3
Some of the things we know for sure about the focus areas for Web3 will be building it on the blockchain and creating decentralized economies. These decentralized economies will start phasing out large mega corps which I believe is one of the most powerful and positive changes. It's also going to allow people to "own" their content and information which in turn will allow them to earn revenue in the shape of what will most likely be crypto.
We already have some aspects such as this. Primarily I believe Hive was the first of it's kind and honestly years ahead of it's time. Only now are people starting to understand how it works and how blogging and content ownership can be used to provide real world value and be rewarded for the content.
It is only now in this year that it's starting to take foot in terms of other aspects such as live streaming, content creation of videos, twitter like and Facebook like social media platforms. It's phase one of that will ultimate be a massive shift in the way the entire world works.
Another very important aspect of focus is the restoration of privacy, security and transparency. I know that sounds funny putting transparency in the mix of privacy and security but that's the beautiful thing about blockchain. Everything gets logged but nothing is really attached to those log until you do make it public knowledge that you're owner of that wallet.
The Currency Value
As much as we dislike the current centralized model it had to happen. Without it we wouldn't have had developments such as Search engines, payment providers and social media which make up the core of web2. However we have in recent years seen why we can't trust corporations with our information and how most (not all) companies treat their consumers in a very negative manner and pushing agendas.
This new currency adoption is and will continue to change the way the entire internet runs. We see these mega corporations now scrambling to find their place in this all but for the most part they are failing while more smaller type companies or the newest innovation DAOs are starting to build future projects in this ever expanding landscape.
Web3 Overview
The above breaks down each in more detail but in general make no mistake about it that web3 is going to play a huge integral part of our lives. Think about Web1 static pages mostly published by companies to web 2 the dawn of blogs, articles and then social media and what a huge impact that had in our every day life to web3 which will be a integration of tokenized economy and self-regulation and governance.
