When you approach someone for advice and they tell you that you can't succeed in a particular thing, don't rebuke the person. Don't 'cast' the person. Don't say, "I know you will say this," and quarrel with them. Don't even go to God in prayer. Instead, ask WHY?
Ask the person WHY? If the person lacks experience or if you don't trust their knowledge on that issue, you wouldn't have sought their opinion in the first place. When the person says something contrary to your intentions, don't get mad at them and start quarreling or feel bad for confiding in them. Ask the person WHY? Remember, you went to the person for a reason.
Nobody ever seeks advice from a lunatic. So, learn to ask why before you use frustrated motivation and spend your precious time trying to prove the person wrong. You'll save yourself a lot of stress by simply staying calm and listening to the person explain why they said what they said. In many instances, you'll also learn how to actually get everything right by doing so.
Imitation is a limitation, Don't imitate. Imitation can cause more frustration for you than you can imagine When you see someone saying they post every day, that's why they make sales, that's why they build influence and a massive following. Perhaps, your observation reveals that they post every day. Don't imitate/You'll be limited/A lot of work is in the background. A lot goes on behind the scenes that you're not aware of.
Know the strategy behind the scenes:
For instance, in brand communication, there's an idea known as 'pre-framing', 'framing', and 'indoctrination'.Did you see that in their post? Did they also talk about that? You didn't see all that, But you imitate. Imitation is like eating the chaff after the MAIN nutrient has been sapped out. Copying without knowing the strategy behind the practice is 'chaffery'. If you can, ask them questions. Sir/Ma'am, I observe that you post 10 times every day. Why do you do that? What's the idea behind it? Are your postings done impulsively? Tell me.
Of course, there are exceptions, But the point is: Don't copy without knowing the strategy behind it. When you do the same thing that others are doing and getting results without getting results, it's a clear sign that you're copying without knowing the strategy behind the practice. Someone wrote a book and made 10 sales in one day after posting about it on their Facebook account. You saw it, you knew you could write a book, so you did, and posted about it on your timeline, but no sales. You made 20 posts in 2 days, yet no sales. You copied without knowing the strategy behind it.
It's hard to go alone and we all can testify to that. It's difficult to not know everything in the beginning, And as it continues, at some point, it might become harder to believe in yourself. Those are a few of the realities of wanting to do it all by yourself. The sad reality of not having someone more experienced watching over your shoulder. At some point, when you're alone, you may feel lost, unsure of what might happen next. These experiences can break you. They can force you to quit, even when you're inches away from the destination. They are real and traumatic.
Right now, you're energetic. You feel pumped and ready to go the extra mile. You tell yourself that you can endure, that you can do it. But how far can you go? Six months? One year? Or even five years? You can't say for certain. And even if you can, don't wish for it. It's not a pleasant experience. My dear #hive and #leofinance family, it's hard to go alone. It's difficult to not know everything in the beginning, And as it continues, at some point, it might become harder to believe in yourself.
How long will it take you to realize that suffering is not a sign of something bigger and better happening in the future? How long will it take you to realize that you need a more experienced driver seated closer to you, pointing you towards the right, easier, and much shorter route that leads to the right destination?
How long? || Conclusion: Stop second-guessing success. Stop going round in an infinite circle of unimaginable struggles with beautiful pictures. Stop the pretense and get on the right ship—mentorship.
