Berkshire at ATH
Buffett is an investor with an unrivaled experience and this is playing out once again. While the S&P index is loosing over the course of the last few weeks, Berkshire Hathaway is climbing to a fresh ATH today. The B stock is up +210% over the last five years and trading at $528. The S&P meanwhile did +145%, which is also very good but Buffet did better.
Cash is King
Berkshire is holding a record high cash position of more than $330 Billion. In my view this is not only a security against market risks but also a war chest for Day X. Buffett is 94 years old and already planning for his company to move one after his own era.
