Interview by Nicolai Tangen
Found a really insightful interview this week that I want to share with you. It’s done by Nicolai Tangen - being an Investment Heavyweight himself, managing the huge Norwegian State Fund - interviewing legendary US investor Stan Druckenmiller. A guy you should pay attention to since he is one of the rare people that managed to beat the market for more than a decade like Buffett.
I listened to the full thing and noted some key takeaways that I put down for you below. While they give you the highlights, it’s still a good idea to listen to the full episode if you have the time.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
About the macro environment
No signs of weakness in the (US) economy for the next 3-6 months
Inflation might come back if Trump wins
US debt is getting more concerning, not shortterm though
About stock markets & Investing
AI Boom will continue, NVIDIA profiting
Small number of market performers (Mag7 etc.) is a yellow light
Buy now, analyse later if you find something you really like in these fast paced times
Invest forward looking, not into where things are now
You never know the top before, you have an opponion and decide accordingly, sometimes correct, sometimes not
It doesn’t matter whether you are right or wrong, it matters how much you win and how few you loose in either case
If you have conviction in something you better go in big
Ok, that was my summary. If you want to tune in yourself, which I can only recommend, then you find the episode here on Spotify and here on Fountain.FM.
What is your favorite learning out of the above?
