If you are a whiskey affciando, or more specifically bourbon, you are probably pretty familiar with this bottle. It is equal parts timeless and iconic. Remember that scene in John Wick where he gets back to The Continental from the bathhouse and has the doctor stitch him up? The doctor asks if he wants anesthetic and he says no, I am fine. Yep, that is a bottle of Blanton's sitting on the table.
The past three days have been pretty exciting for me. First, I was able through a friend to finally get my hands on a bottle of this stuff. It isn't impossible to get where I live, but it definitely helps to have the right connections. They have several "flavors" with this being the least expensive but still one of the priciest bottles of whiskey I have ever purchased. At $65 it isn't something I will be getting too frequently. Unless Leo and Hive moon of course, then I will be buying it by the barrel!
Excited is probably an understatement. I picked it up on Saturday morning so Saturday night I got to experience another first. My first sip. It was fantastic. I didn't really know what to expect, but it was pleasantly smooth while retaining that burn you would expect from bourbon. For me, it was a real treat!
A perfect way to prematurely celebrate HPUD.
As I wrote in my previous post, I was super excited to wake up this morning and see that HBD was sitting around $1.50. On top of that, I actually had some HBD sitting in my account. I we even more surprised to find that my post a week ago had gotten some unrealized love and my pending rewards were quite substantial.
Between those rewards and my purchased Hive, I was able to power up close to 200 Hive today. I kept a little bit of the Hive liquid to send over to Leodex.io to maybe buy some tokens over there as well.
Finally, my last cause to celebrate came later this morning when I saw the price of HBD jump up to $1.60. I quickly ran over to my workers desk and I was able to help him trade his HBD for Hive and participate in his first ever HPUD day. I think he actually just finished writing his first ever HPUD post.
If you get the chance, pop over and congratulate !
Talk about an awesome past couple of days... And this one isn't even half over with yet! I might have even more to celebrate by the time I get home!
