In this post I want to tell you a little bit about how I'm boosting up my Hive account. Besides the curation and posting rewards, there are lots of things happening beneath and outside the Hive ecosystem. With some of them, we might ask if it's really worth the effort but I honestly believe that these tiny streams of income will eventually boost my account and hopefully make it flooded with HIVE.
HBD - HIVE Trading
One of my ways to get more HIVE is to trade it without fees on the internal market. We are experiencing extremely harsh times in the crypto space at the moment but yes, there are opportunities emerging.
I've been keeping some HIVE and HBD as liquid just in case for these volatile days. Now that those days are here I have been trading HIVE and HBD back and forth with a clear goal in my mind - accumulate more HIVE.
I am not staring at the estimated account value of mine but instead, I keep the track of my liquid HIVE and liquid HBD. By using HBD and the market fluctuation I slowly but steadily make small profits and so increase my total HIVE pot. After things have settled down a bit I power up some while keeping some liquid in case of another Luna/FTX -madness.
Layer 2 Tokens
If we move from the base layer of Hive to a second one we'll see that there are lots of different tokens with different use cases. To be honest, this is still somewhat uncharted territory for me. I have some tokens that I don't know where they came from or what I can do with them. Those that I'm more familiar with can produce nice little drops of HIVE.
For example, with dCity game and its SIM token, I get a little bit of HIVE paid straight to my wallet by simply holding a certain amount of it.
Some tokens you can stake and then delegate to curators. You will then get a share of the curation rewards paid in that particular token or in some cases you'll earn a different one.
One such project I'd like to mention is EDS. I bought EDSMM(EDS mini miner) tokens that are now mining EDS tokens and by holding EDS, I'll be earning some HIVE.
WOO Staking
Just recently found this one. Even though I'm still learning the actual gameplay of the Wrestling Organization Online I spotted an interesting staking option on their site. There is a possibility to stake WOO tokens with almost 80% APR. My first idea was to eventually sell the gains for HIVE but now I'm not sure anymore. Anyway, this is a good example of many staking possibilities within the Hive ecosystem which you can use to create an income of tokens to your account.
Rollercoin
Stepping out of Hive for a while. Rollercoin is a mining simulator that I wrote about in this post. At the moment I'm doing a lot of hustling there: flipping miners to increase my mining power and to achieve my goal, making this a truly passive income stream. If and when it happens I'll send the gains to Hive-Engine as DOGE or MATIC.
Brave Rewards
By using Brave Browser I'm getting BAT tokens as a reward just by clicking ads once in a while. These tokens are then sent to my Uphold wallet which is pretty inconvenient but I have swapped them for BCH(cheap transactions) and then sent it to Hive-Engine. There it can be easily sold for HIVE and another almost passive income source is created.
Noise.app
This apps currency is also Bitcoin Cash. I added my Hive-Engine SWAP.BCH address to my profile and now I'm receiving BCH a couple of times a day to H-E just by being active there. You can find more info about the app itself in my previous post.
Hive Backed Dollar
Back to Hive. Because of the current market happenings, I'm all out of HBD but if the situation was different, I'd put some into savings with a really awesome 20% APR. Generated interest will be paid once a month and that could be used to DCA buy Hive for example.
Conclusion
While I'm connecting these streams to a river and hustling all around I've learned that I'm also connecting with people. By studying some layer 2 tokens properties I might end up in an interesting tribe and find interesting bloggers there. From outside Hive, I might connect with people who might then onboard Hive.
So by jumping into projects and always being keen to try out new stuff, I'm creating this network of like-minded people. I'm not only connecting small income streams but also forming relationships. Now there is some value in that.
Thank you for reading!
And please, tell me about your favorite small streams!
