Thefts that occurred in the month of October are valued at $760 million in cryptocurrencies.
As is known, the month of October broke records for exploits in different DeFi protocols, which caused a large number of thefts, honoring its new nickname "Hacktober".
Yesterday, in the middle of the Halloween holiday, the security firm Blockchain Peckshiel posted some terrifying statistics on its twitter account, where a total of $2.98 billion of digital assets were stolen throughout the month of October 2022, these figures they are almost double what was lost in the entire year 2021.
Hacktober compromised a total of 44 exploits, which affected a total of 53 protocols. Allowing hackers to make off with $760 million in the month. However, the cyber attackers returned a total of $100 million.

The top exploit in October where the most funds were lost was notably BNB Chain, which lost $586 million, according to data from blockchain security firm Peckshield.
