This week in validating, we saw a big hit in our EVMOS delegations. This has caused out DAO numbers to drop significantly, even with adding a new blockchain last week with Stride. Our EVMOS node has been doing allot of the heavy lifting but seems like, that no matter how many discussions around decentralization are had, the community seems to keep piling in at the top to earn the most on their own bags, or out hunting for more airdrops.
We have seen that our airdrop model only worked so well and it's hard to garner attention in this space as a validator, even if you are committing to doing good things for the environment with your rewards. It's more than just a marketing attempt, it's something we truly believe in.
DAO Numbers
This week, we only have just over $200 in hand for our donations to Ecologi. This is more than a 50% drop from previous weeks. This is due to a massive shift in delegations away from our node. That is still planting just over 600 trees for the week, but it's a dramatic shift from what we have been doing.
Starting next month, we are going to be sending the USDC from our rewards weekly to the DAO treasury. This will then be voted on monthly by cZERO stakeholders, giving them a voice in how we donate our funds.
We are also starting our development fund with the 10% of our EVMOS funds that we were using for our rebate. We believe that a development fund, that is governed by the DAO stakeholders is a better way to use those funds. We can do a better job in helping out the ecosystem by creating tools and dapps with these funds. That is if we can find developers, or just learn it ourselves.
Twitter Spaces and Podcasts
This week we do not have a scheduled Twitter Spaces due to Cosmoverse (which we are not attending, sadly), but will be picking up on October 4 with our fellow eco-validator friends at Rhino! We are reaching out to other projects and validators who may want to come on and have a live chat about their project and possibly take some live questions from audience members. Demos and Tutorials
We are going to be focusing this week on getting some demos and tutorials out for some of the projects we support like Comdex and Assetmantle. We will also be exploring the new DAODAO features soon!
Cosmos Index
We are going to be stepping up market content for the Cosmos ecosystem as well with our Cosmos Index. We will be creating full demo pages for all of the coins in our index, which represent all of the IBC related chains that are ranked on CoinGecko. You can track the top IBC tokens on our site as well as be able to get news and tutorials from around the Cosmos space!
