A challenging report covering the massive drops in nuclear, alternate energy and precious metals - time to sit still.
Portfolio News
In a week where S&P 500 dropped 2.23% and Europe rose 0.34%, my pension portfolio rose 0.25% - some way to recover the previous fortnight's gap.
Big movers of the week were Geiger Energy Corporation (BEEP.V) (29.3%), Jaguar Uranium Corp (JAGU) (25.8%), Tiger Gold Corp (TIGR.V) (25.4%), RocketBoots (ROC.AX) (25%), Lodestar Minerals (LSR.AX) (25%), Kairos Minerals (KAI.AX) (23.3%), Sunrise Energy Metals (SRL.AX) (22.9%), PLS Group (PLS.AX) (21.7%), FMC Corporation (FMC) (20.4%), AML3D (AL3.AX) (18.2%), F4 Uranium Corp. (FFU.V) (18.2%), Sigma Lithium Corporation (SGML) (15.6%), Power Minerals (PNN.AX) (15%), SLB N.V. (SLB) (14.7%), Coronado Global Resources (CRN.AX) (14.3%), EraNova Metals (NOVA.V) (14.3%), Myer Holdings (MYR.AX) (14%), Alliance Aviation Services (AQZ.AX) (13.4%), Mithril Silver and Gold (MTH.AX) (13.8%), Silvercorp Metals (SVM) (13.6%), Bayhorse Silver (BHS.V) (13.3%), First Majestic Silver (AG) (13.2%), Power Solutions International (PSIX) (12.9%), OD6 Metals (OD6.AX) (12.6%), Advance Metals (AVM.AX) (12.5%), New Frontier Minerals (NFM.AX) (12.5%), Northern Dynasty Minerals (NAK) (12.3%), Solstice Advanced Materials (SOLS) (11.9%), PZ Cussons (PZC.L) (11.5%), Alamos Gold (AGI) (11.2%), Terra Critical Minerals (T92.AX) (11.2%), Panther Metals Ltd (PNT.AX) (11.1%), Pan American Silver Corp (PAAS) (10.8%), Halliburton Company (HAL) (10.6%), Cobalt Blue Holdings (COB.AX) (10.3%), Wheaton Precious Metals (WPM) (10.1%), 88 Energy (88E.AX) (10%), Fortuna Metals (FUN.AX) (10%), Condor Energy (CND.AX) (10%)
A more respectable 38 stocks in the big movers lists. The big themes are creeping back. From the top - uranium (4 stocks), gold/silver mining (11 stocks), rare earths (6 stocks), alternate energy materials (5 stocks), oil services (2 stocks).
US markets wanted good news - one day up - one day down - ending a 5th week down since the war. The headlines are Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the week.
Crypto Drifts
Bitcoin price pushed higher to test the resistance level above and then plumbed lower to test the support level below (the green lines) finishing the week 3.38% lower than the open with a peak to trough range of 9.9%.
Ethereum price pushed higher finishing the week 3% lower than the open with a peak to trough range of 12%.
Missed the updates last report with some data issues - rolled all 3 weeks into one catchup set.
Nuclear Energy Holdings
Options expiry added a lot of uranium and nuclear stocks but more telling was the 21% drop in valuations - no sales - nothing lost yet.
To save you looking up last week post - here are the additions from there.
- Oklo Inc (OKLO): Nuclear Technology
- Rolls-Royce Holdings plc (RR.L): Aerospace/Defense
- Denison Mines Corp (DNN): Uranium
- Mirion Technologies (MIR): Nuclear Technology
- Cameco Corporation (CCJ): Uranium
- Lightbridge Corporation (LTBR): Nuclear Technology
- Uranium Energy Corp (UEC): Uranium
- Uranium Royalty Corp (UROY): Uranium
- ASP Isotopes (ASPI): Nuclear Technology
A few changes in the mix of holdings with the additions. Rolls-Royce Holdings plc (RR.L) comes into top 10 in slot 3. Cameco Corporation (CCJ) moves up two places into slot 5. Oklo Inc (OKLO) comes into top 10 in slot 8. Paladin Energy Ltd (PDN.AX) drops 5 places to slot 10. Dropping out the top 10 are Atomic Eagle Limited (AEU.AX) and Silex Systems Limited (SLX.AX)
Big changes in holdings by Stage with Technology up 6.8 points. Fallers were in Near Producing and Explorers and Producing.
Alternate Energy Holdings
More subdued options expiry but a telling 10.9% drop in valuations - one sale was at breakeven.
Note: Edited the note and replaced this chart to correct the opening balance
Additions and one sale below the gap
Lithium Americas Corp (LAC): Lithium
Westwater Resources (WWR): Graphite
Gevo, Inc (GEVO): Specialty Chemicals
Westwater Resources (WWR) moves up one place into slot 5. No other changes in rankings. Number of other drops one in number.
Precious Metals Holdings
A few more additions through options expiry and a 7.2% drop in valuations. On new category added in Other - Platinum - first purchase there.
Additions

Bought
ING Groep (INGA.AS): Dutch Bank. Rounded up holding in pension portfolio after assignment of an odd lot multiplier. 0.64% 9.2%
Myriad Uranium Corp (M.CN): Uranium. Added a parcel in small managed portfolio to average down entry price following John Polomny interview on Triangle Investor- his preferred speculative uranium play in the Athabasca.
John Polomny was asked for a 10 year view - Latin America. Added a few Latin America ETFs - $2k each as an options type play - spread them across two portfolios. Growing populations and energy independence and growing mining exposure especially in copper.
iShares MSCI Chile ETF (ECH): Chile Index. In managed portfolio. Yield 1.88%
iShares MSCI Peru ETF (EPU): Peru Index. In managed portfolio. Yield 1.26%
iShares MSCI Brazil ETF (EWZ): Brazil Index. In managed portfolio. Yield 4.26%
Global X MSCI Argentina ETF (ARGT): Argentina Index. In personal portfolio. Yield 0.86%
Did no analysis at the time of making the trades. Time to step back and do some comparisons against the iShares Latin America 40 ETF (ILF) going back to the Covid-19 lows. For some reason the Latin America ETFs do not include Argentina. The laggards are Brazil and Chile and Mexico just ahead. That is where the additions need to be made next time
One more chart - is this any different to S&P500? The end point is about the same but the journey was very different.
The Mosaic Company (MOS): Fertilizer. Added a holding in managed portfolio and personal portfolio figuring that shortage of urea as a result of closure of Straits of Hormuz has to work well for other fertilizer producers. Dividend yield 3.45%
abrdn Physical Platinum Shares ETF (PPLT): Platinum. John Polomny suggested the switch to EV's does not warrant the drop in platinum prices - overdone. Added a small parcel in managed portfolio.
Ivanhoe Mines (IVN.TO): Copper Mining. John Polomny likes copper - this is his preferred play - not totally convinced with DRC exposure quite high - we shall see. Added a small parcel in personal portfolio.
Strategic Minerals Plc (SML.L): Base Metals. Listened to a podcast from a UK research house - company covers magnetite in New Mexico, copper in South Australia and tin/tungsten in Cornwall. Analyst was excited about Cornwall potential. Added a small parcel in personal portfolio.

ASX Portfolio
The segment reports trading in ASX fractional share portfolio. Trade entries are made based on stock screens looking for undervalued stocks (price to book, price earnings, price to sales) that are showing technical signs of breaking a downtrend. Exits are made at 35% profit or 25% if 52 week high is lower than 35% advance. New buys are in $500 lots. Scale ins and top ups in $250 lots
New Buys
LARK Distilling Co. Ltd (LRK.AX): Beverages. Ran the screens for small caps - this popped up.
Chart looks pretty beaten up but the company is holding a lot of ageing inventory - disruption of shipping will help that story.
Auto-Invest for Grandkids
Fifth month running mini-ETF investment for my two granddaughters for $100 a month spread across a mix of uranium and rare earths stocks. Auto-invest programs carry no fees on entry

- Dateline Resources (DTR.AX): Rare Earths.

Sold
Ainsworth Game Technology (AGI.AX): Gaming. Closed at 52 week high target for 28.9% profit since March 2025.
