All unemployment runs out on Saturday which is the day after Christmas … (Merry Christmas from your government). Ohh Speaking of the devil, the government shuts down on Monday "to me though its more like a fuck you American" without a funding bill, and the people who would need to amend this damn bill aren't even in Washington anymore, they've all flown home with maybe a few still lingering around but the majority already said "well I came here to do my job and I am done, time to celebrate Christmas".
Of course you have speaker Nancy Pelosi already saying that she will take up, President Trump's offer to do stimulus checks from $600 to $2,000 by holding a special session special house session tomorrow on Christmas Eve, but it is likely just not that simple. So what I do think will happen is there will be a remote vote on the $2,000.. Lets see tomorrow and we wait.
Here is Mr. Presidents speech on the matter.
Donald Trump: (00:00)
Throughout the summer, Democrats cruelly blocked COVID relief legislation in an effort to advance their extreme left wing agenda and influence the election. Then a few months ago, Congress started negotiations on a new package to get urgently needed help to the American people. It’s taken forever. However, the bill they are now planning to send back to my desk is much different than anticipated. It really is a disgrace.
Pretty good speech..
But its not really the $2,000 he cares about, he is going after social media lefties, because they flag all his shit as false. He feels that it would hurt him moving forward so blocking FB, Twitter etc. from blocking him allows him to maybe try for another Term in 2024.
Just my take on it.
President Trump has 8 more days to vote on the bill, after that it goes into law.. So he is sticking to his guns. Because if he does not Veto it and it goes into law it's like he did vote on it so now he held $$ from the people and it would hurt him in the long run.
