I hear this a lot often that writing Doesn't Pay bills. And that's true too, for example, I have started writing on mu blog CodingDefined.com. And I have got paid some amount, but that's not a huge amount. Similarly here on Hive, I have written on Hive from last 8 years but I have not got enough which will pay my bills for more than 4 to 5 months.

Now that's true for most of the people, but there are people who have achieved a great success by writing itself. I know Ankur Warikoo who writes everyday and along with that he has authored so many books, still write on Linkedin and other places. The problem is most of us, try to restrict ourselves on one platform and just ignore others. For example, I am writing here on Hive but ignored other places. So my income was limited.
Now at the same time, if I would have written on other platform, diversified the platform, it could have been little different. And that's the problem with most of us. We are restricting ourselves too much as well as becoming quite lazy. Yes the writing pays little, but you have to write more to make that little more.
If say you have written on Hive and earning 1$ and if like Hive you are writing on other platform and earning more or less same amount then think that 10 sites will give you around $10 which is quite good. Now it will not pay all your bills, but it might able to pay 1 bill out of 10.
And I feel that's what the Hive is lacking to some extent. As a good writer there is very less incentive for most of the folks out there and that's why a lot of good writers just don't write on Hive any more. But that should change and then we can see more and more writers on Hive writing their beautiful piece.
