Here's a little experiment and exploration in emission rates, money supply, inflation, and value.
I have no idea how it will go. We'll see and it should be fun no matter what.
Let's Do This! Coin - Read about it at @crrdlx/let-s-do-this-coin-ldtc
An accompanying thought experiment: @crrdlx/horscoin-nft-a-lesson-in-value-maybe
Econ 101 terminology:
Emission: The rate at which something like a token is sent out "into the wild."
Money supply: How much money is out there, shown in percent change.
I minted 1 LDTC NFT initially. Then, I minted 9 more. So, (10-1)/1 = 9.0 or 900% inflation in the first round!
Next, I minted 10 more. So, (20-10)/10 = 1.0 or 100% inflation of money supply.
Then, I minted 10 more. So, (30-20)/20 = .5 or 50% inflation of money supply.
I minted 10 more again. So, (40-30)/30 = .33 or 33% inflation of money supply.
I minted 10 once more (there are currently 50). So, (50-40)/40 = .25 or 25% inflation inflation of money supply.
Bottom line: as the "money supply" increases, the percent change decreases (but at a slowing rate, approaching zero).
Value: This is subjective, but generally, the lower the "money supply" the greater the value.
Incentive
I would like to see sales of LDTC! Initially, I said that if anyone sells their LDTC, I would give them another. But, thinking about it, people may not wish to sell their lower mint NFT in exchange for a higher mint? You would collect money for the sale, of course, and still get another NFT, but, we can do better.
Charlie Munger once said, "Show me the incentive and I will show you the outcome."

So, let's alter the incentive by altering the emission rate of LDTC.
Since one is not enough...
Sell your LDTC and get lots more!
The first person who sells an LDTC coin then pings on Telegram will be awarded LDTC coins according to the chart/table shown. So, yes, the first seller will receive 10 LDTC NFTs!
The second person who sells at a HIGHER price than the prior sale, then pings will be awarded 8 LDTC coins. Note the contingency...the sale must be at a higher price than the prior sale. Doesn't matter how much higher, just higher.
The third seller will get 6, etc.
| Seller | NFTs awarded |
|---|---|
| 1 | 10 |
| 2 | 8 |
| 3 | 6 |
| 4 | 4 |
| 5 | 4 |
| 6 | 3 |
| 7 | 3 |
| 8 | 3 |
| 9 | 2 |
| 10 | 2 |
| 11 | 2 |
| 12 | 2 |
| 13 | 1 |
| 14 | 1 |
Money supply:
Following this emission schedule, the inflation rate will look like a really steep ski slope, then get down close to being flat. See image below.
Value and inflation:
This is tricky.
Inflation is tied to both value and the money supply. Generally, the larger the money supply, the higher the inflation (which is another way of saying, the lower the value).
And, value is subjective. The free and open market determines value!
So, we'll see.
